Why Sarah Tremayne chose Looe
A whole year was spent lovingly renovating the cottage and modernising it to a high standard. Everything you could possibly want has been thought of. The cottage is very romantic and is ideal for a couple who want to get away from it all. The local area is superb and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Bird's Nest is nestled in a quiet pretty cobbled street, with the beach and quay seconds away, as are the many restaurants, cafes and shops. But if you want to explore Cornwall and its attractions, Looe is an ideal base.
What makes this Cottage unique
This traditional Cornish cottage is laid out over three floors and gives a flavour of a bygone era. We have just finished completely refurbishing this property for the season, so everything is new and clean in this beautiful cottage. Please be aware that the stairs can, for some, be a little steep and a possible struggle for more elderly and less mobile travellers.
Cancelled bookings will not receive a refund.
First time of visiting Looe and we fell in love with the place! The cottage was very quaint and qwerky! Everything we needed for a relaxing and chill out holiday. The stairs a little challenging at times, as was the small bathroom, but all manageable, and by the end of our week, we were at home with it all. The cottage exuded warmth and for us, comfort. The bed was sooo comfortable too. We would love to return some time in the future and would highly recommend.
Cosy convenient and quiet
High quality spec and very comfortable
Loved this charming little cottage!
We really enjoyed our stay in Bird's Nest - the most charming of cottages perfectly located in the heart of the town. Very well maintained and well equipped it made our weekend break all the more enjoyable. All very clean and the bed was particularly comfortable (nice to see some quality bed linen for a change). Sarah's team were very helpful and provided good clear instructions. We have no hesitation in recommending and would love to stay again.
Wonderful stay in traditional cottage
We enjoyed our stay in Birds Nest cottage very much. Very nicely decorated, well maintained and clean. Conveniently located in the quiet back streets close to the restaurants and cafes. ......and having the beach so close was great. We'll definitely be back again.
The cottage was quite nice, as was Looe. It’s just that when we got in bed (and the bed was neatly made) we realised the sheets hadn’t been changed from the previous occupant. We had even met the cleaner when we arrived! Fortunately there were spare sheets, and the owners were apologetic when we told them but never in my life has this ever happened before.
Dear Timothy, Many thanks for your review and we're sorry that that linen hadn't been changed (yes, it' was a genuine mistake and its never happened before, and we're grateful that you were able to resolve the situation). We hope you were able to enjoy the free meal tokens too (our little way of saying sorry) and we're glad that you were still able to enjoy your stay and all Looe has to offer. Kindest regards, Sarah.
Lovely cottage very close to the beach
Beautiful cottage in a fantastic location in the heart of East Looe's old town and very close to the beach (less than a minute away), harbour, restaurants and cafes....and very very peaceful - I don't think you could ask for a better location. The house is very well maintained, clean and comfortable - especially the bed with quality linen etc. The town is blessed with many good restaurants and cafes - too many to mention here - as well as really good pubs (we loved the Salutation). We enjoyed some lovely walks along the coastal path and made it to Talland and Polperro (the Three Pilchards and Blue Peter pubs are well worth a visit). All in all a great break in a great town in an even greater cottage.
