Guestbook comments from the owner

Richard. Just got back from Aigues Mortes. We all enjoyed your appartment which went a long way to making the holiday a success.

Dear Richard and Sarah

We had a fantastic time and both the apartment and pool were great, our kids spent all day in the pool.

Many thanks again

Gary and Tracey

Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our visit to AignesMortes and your apartment.

As we'd booked this trip fairly last minute and had been really busy before we went, I hadn't really researched it very much but the town and surrounding area was just lovely.

Your apartment was brilliant and so clean.

Thanks for having us!

Lovely apartment in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely 2 weeks here. The apartment was great and had everything we needed. The large balcony was a real bonus - you could sit out there for hours watching the boats on the canal. Pool was also lovely and was used by our 2 daughters every day. The apartment was in a fantastic location - just a short walk to the town and all the restaurants, cafes and shops. The other bonus was the train station - also a short walk and you could get a train to the beach town of Grau du Roi or to Nimes. A brilliant holiday in a really lovely area.

We three oldies had a wonderful time in this great apartment. Every facility provided plus pool and large terrace overlooking the canal with all its activities. Short walk to the walled city with numerous restaurants and shops and short drive to supermarkets. A good choice of beaches within easy reach and lots of places to visit. Would highly recommend the accommodation and the area and would love to come again.

Excellent apartment, well equipped with great pool. Really well situated 10 min stroll into town.

  • 5 of 5

Couldn't ask for a better experience, from enquiries, through booking/payment right up to a warm welcome on the day of arrival from Debbie, who was on hand if needed but out of the way when not. Well equipped, maintained and cleaned apartment with everything we needed for a relaxing week. Pool used every day especially as weather was really hot, yet quiet at end of June with us often the only users. Location is excellent with a short (10 min) level walk (except the bridge over the canal!) into the walled town for all amenities. Once in the car it's easy acces to several beaches, towns and attractions/activities.

So much to do, a week was not enough, would love to come back and explore some more.

Tolle Wohnung - toller Urlaub

  • 5 of 5

very nice apartment, everything you need is in it.

  • 4 of 5

The weather was fine, two weeks only sunshine, no rain. The water in the pool was warm. The apartment is great, very well arranged. The property was clean. The owner and the manager provided good customer service. I liked our excursions to Montpellier, Nimes, Les Baux and Aix. The beach of lÈspigettes is great.

Tolle Unterkunft

  • 5 of 5

The nearest beach is at Grau du Roi which is 7km down the canal. There is a train service from Aigues Mortes and also a bus service. There's also a shuttle boat (navette) to le Grau.

Other easily accessible beaches within 20km can be found at La Grande Motte, Carnon and Palavas. Beyond Le Grau du Roi is the wild expanse of the Espiguette beach.

Nimes 32km has an airport (Ryanair flights) and TGV rail station.

Montpellier 25km has an airport (Easyjet flights).

It's quite possible to get to the flat by rail. Take the Eurostar from St Pancras; a TGV from Paris or Lille to Nimes; and a train or bus to Aigues-Mortes station.

Use of a car is recommended as there are so many interesting places to visit in the area.

Montpellier (25km) is a beautiful and interesting city with restaurants, theatres, galleries.

Nimes (32km) has historic interest and boasts a Roman amphitheatre. TGV service to Marseille and Barcelona.

Arles (40km) was the home of Vincent van Gogh and the subject of many of his paintings.

Saintes Maries (31km) is a lovely seaside town in the heart of the Camargue.

Pont du Gard (56km) is the Roman aquaduct which is a World Heritage site.

Further Details:

Local market on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Festival of St Louis in August with a re-enactment of St Louis entering the town.

In September and October there are festivals with horse riding displays and bull running through the town.

In the nearby town of Sete water jousting takes place in the summer.
