A very pretty detached property with outstanding Mountain and Lake Views. There are lovely terraces, one shaded, and a private pool area with brick built barbeque and walled courtyard. Iznajar is situated near to the borders of Cordoba, Malaga, and Granada, and is easily reached from both Malaga and Granada Airports in around an hour or under. Iznajar appears like an island that rises out of the surrounding water and is perched on a hilltop. Its transformation occurred some years ago with the creation of the water reservoir, romantically called "The Lake of Andalucia". Iznajar now has a waterfront overlooking an inland sea some 30kms long, and containing an estimated 900 million cubic metres of water. Activities nearby include: Horse riding, Golf within 30 mins drive, Fishing, its great for Walking holidays, Cycling holidays, and we are within easy reach of Water Parks, a Wolf Park, and cultural visits. Not forgetting a trip to the Alhambra Palace and skiing in the Sierra Nevada.

About Brian Jackson
We live in North East England where we run a small Bakery. We have always enjoyed the "real" Spain. The local people are the friendliest people you could ever hope to meet. We hope you will enjoy the Casa as much as we continue to do.
Brian Jackson purchased this Villa in 2010
Why Brian Jackson chose Iznájar
Its like the English Lake District, but with sunshine. The lake at Iznajar is perfect, with its own man made beach. Or you can relax at the Casa where you have total privacy, and spend a day lazing by the pool. At night the lack of light pollution gives a view of the Stars that you wont believe. The area is easily accessible with Malaga airport less than an hours drive away. It is all on one level, with total privacy. Anything you need to know - just ask.
What makes this Villa unique
2019 is to be the last year we rent out the property, so it's your last chance.
Pool / Spa
Stunning views, lovely pool and many shady terraces. Peaceful, quiet and homely.
We had a wonderful family holiday here, enjoying the stunning views over the olive trees in this quiet area. The many terraces provided opportunities for sun or shade and the pool was deliciously refreshing in the heat of the day. The house is comfortable, spacious and clean and although the kitchen is galley style, we comfortably catered for ourselves all week.
After the first drive up the hill, which was challenging in a low powered hire car, it quickly became perfectly manageable. And completely worth it for the stunning views. If you want peace and quiet and to get away from it all, this is a perfect spot.
A little piece of heaven on earth
This is a lovely little casa with the most beautiful views in the world. The photos on the website simply do not do it justice. If you need the throb of city living this is definitely not the spot for you. it is a haven of peace and tranquility in an amazing setting. The surrounding countryside is packed with lovely silver olive trees and incredible mountain views. Nothing to hear but the birds and the wind rustling in the trees. You can simply walk out of your door to some of the most amazing views in Andalucia. There are many national parks nearby and everyone is a delight. If culture is what you want then Antequera, Cordoba and Grenada are all within easy days trips. or use it as a spot to relax between your city exploration. Only an hour from Malaga but may as well be on another planet.
Tranquil, beautiful and loved
As a frequent hotel user for work, I try to avoid them at all other times. Casa del Sol is a great example of what can happen when you opt for something else; a place that someone else loves and takes pride in.
A nicely sized house, so you don't feel like you're on top of each other, but to be honest we barely spent any time inside other than to cook, shower and sleep. Gorgeous pool, huge terrace, and views that no photograph can do justice to.
You have to drive, but it's so quiet that it really doesn't pose much of a challenge. Little English spoken locally but again, it's not really a challenge - we never met a person who wasn't helpful and they all hugely appreciate even the odd word of Spanish.
The morning that we awoke with the clouds beneath us in the valley, and got to watch as they burned away over breakfast, is something I will never forget.
We got to watch eagles and hawks just sitting on the terrace, and the local friendly lizard Lizuardo came out to visit at sunset.
For me, this was the perfect place to relax and unwind, and get a chance to experience 'real' rural Spain. Already planning our next trip :)
We have a local beach at our beautiful Iznajar lake. It is very peaceful and never full or overcrowded, which makes it a pleasure to visit. If you want, you can then get to the coastal beaches in 45 minutes.
Malaga airport is under an hour away, as is the airport at Granada.
It is possible to fly to Madrid and then get an interlink flight or drive to us.
Its also possible to fly to Barcelona then get an interlink flight or drive down.
Seville airport is also 2 hours away and Gibraltar airport is 2 hours away so you have a good choice of arriving at a
Iznajar is just 10 mins drive away, Rute with a good range of shops is also 10 minutes drive, (in the other direction). Cordoba is 60 minutes. Alhambra Palace is 70 minutes away. Seville is 95 minutes away. There are lots of interesting local places to visit.
There are numerous world famous historic sites and museums including the unique Mosque in Cordoba city itself (the Mezquita) to the suggested Wonder of the World that is the Alhambra Palace in Granada to Flamenco Nights in Cordoba's Ancient Quarter, or a bullfight in Seville.
There is a never ending selection of exhibitions, fiestas and galleries, fierce and dramatic scenery together with the largest nativity scene hand made out of chocolate on view every year from October 12th in Rute.
We are less than 10 mins from the dramatic and historic white Andalucian town of Iznajar, the most southerly main town of the province of Cordoba, quite literally teetering on top of an immense rock that juts out into the spectacular lake fed in part by snow from the ski resort in the Sierra Nevada.
