Perfect for extended family stay.
Three branches of the same family with three generations. The villa was the perfect venue with 4 good bedrooms, 4 bathrooms/showers/ensuites, a well equipped kitchen, a very comfortable lounge and indoor dining area which we didn't need to use as the weather was so good, an excellent barbecue on the terrace and several other outdoor seating areas which were in the shade at different times of the day. Add to that the very nice swimming pool and wonderful games room which were used every day at various times by all of us and you have the ideal situation for a really good family holiday. There was ample room to park the 3 cars in which we arrived, the wi-fi was fine and the village centre of Autignac was a 5 minute walk away every morning for the boulangerie. A good Intermarche supermarket was a 10 minute drive away in Magalas and served us well.
We were blessed with 2 weeks of excellent weather with clear blue skies and daytime temperatures in the 30's, although we did have 2 late evening thunderstorms which we were able to watch from the main terrace.
Between us we explored different parts of the Herault Languedoc region from Cap d'Agde and the beaches to the Haute Languedoc area with mountains and lakes. There were lots of outdoor activities available and we all enjoyed swimming, tennis, walking and both road and Voie Verte cycling.
Given that the three families are based in Leicestershire, England, San Francisco and Perth, Australia this was a rare occasion for all of us to get together. The house was ideal to eat, sleep and relax together and the region provided plenty of opportunities for all of us to pursue our own interests at other times.
As we said above it was just perfect and the whole process of booking and checking in and out worked very smoothly. It didn't just live up to our expectations, it exceeded them.
Thank you for the great review. Very informative and it sounds as if it was a perfect family reunion. Best wishes, Ann and Simon
Great house in lovely village
Two years after our first visit to this house, we returned to find it even better than we remembered. Clean, comfortable, spacious & very well equipped, it’s a wonderful holiday destination & an ideal base for visiting some of the interesting places nearby. (Roquebrun & Pezenas are amongst our favourites.) The outdoor space is excellent with plenty options for being in the sun or the shade. The pool is beautiful & with kids in & out of it all the time, having the poolside shower (& another off the games room) is such a bonus. The owners couldn’t be more helpful & have really thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. We definitely hope to return.
Simply superb! A beautiful and peaceful getaway.
Myself and a group of friends booked this property as a relaxing escape, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was all we could've hoped for and more - a peaceful setting, beautiful multi-level outdoor terrace and pool, a fun games room with pool, darts and ping pong and a nice homely feel to the decor throughout the house. We didn't want to leave. Would recommend highly.
Thank you for the great review. We hope to welcome you on a return visit in the near future.
A very comfortable well equipped house in a lovely village setting.
We had a very enjoyable holiday here. The pool was great and the games room very well equipped. Only slight downside was the distance from the beaches and bigger towns. But the peaceful, rural setting was lovely.
We had a great week at the end of May at this fabulous house in Autignac. This house has everything you need to enjoy a French villa holiday and so much more besides. The owners have thought of everything. The kitchen is so well equipped and it all works. The bedrooms are clean and comfy. The living room can accommodate everyone comfortably. Outside there are so many lovely places to chill, play games, sunbathe, read, just have s good time. The views over the mountains and the town are great and the neighbourhood is quiet. In the basement there is enough to keep children of any age (0 - 70 plus busy and having fun even if the weather is not great. The pool was a good size and really nice. I loved the barbecue area and all the balconies.
We all loved the town - we found the locals friendly and helpful. We enjoyed tasting the local wines and doing the bun run each morning. Although there is no restaurant as such in the ville you do not have to travel far to find some quality dining. We had a delicious dinner in Herepian, on the way to Bedarieux and Bistrot La Galerie is quirky place worth exploring.
My grown up family thoroughly enjoyed our sejour at La Maison De Fraisse and recommend it without reservation
Thank you for the great review Alison. We are delighted you and the family enjoyed the house, outside space and the region.
The property was the best equipped luxury villa we have stayed at in almost 20 years of renting villas in France. There was a huge heated pool, solar powered shower by the pool, with pool toys for young kids. At least 6 outdoor tables and chairs - and some really smart rattan furniture on upper and lower terraces, with wonderful views of the hills to watch the sunset in the upper terrace and sip a glass or two. Large comfy lounge with all you could need - large dining suite -TV DVD CD books by the dozen etc. Great covered BBQ area and table beside. The kitchen had everything you could need - big table and great equipment too. Bedrooms comfy - plenty of wardrobes - great family bathroom - en suite on the main - another toilet and shower room in the pool suite - and another shower and toilet in the sports room. The sports room has a table tennis table - pool / snooker table football , air hockey, darts and another set of comfy chairs to play on the PlayStation with lots of games for the kids. It was truly superb and immaculately clean. We loved to walk to the village - 5 minutes away and buy some local produce from the shops - bakery and a few other friendly general stores. We also ate in the cafe at the square a few lunchtimes - good food and nice wine. We thought the directions to the house were excellent and sensibly advised us not to go through the village in the car on arrival as some streets are narrow and a challenge till you get used to them and the directions / route we followed were great and no hassle at all. Overall it is an exceptional villa and We would happily go back any time.
Thank you very much for the review. Great to hear you enjoyed all the comforts, the village and surroundings. We will welcome your return visit.
