The cosy holiday cottage/Gite is set in a quiet hamlet with no through traffic so peace and quiet is assured. It is located on a hill overlooking the valley of the Aveyron River and surrounded by open fields. A secluded garden to the rear of the property is filled with flowers and trees. The large pool is unheated but is in full sun and the water is usually about 27c from June to early September.

The owners are two artists (an Irish painter and a Belgian sculptor) who fell in love with the region in 2001 and have chosen to live here full time. Apart from painting and sculpture we enjoy gardening, both vegetables and flowers and spend most of the summer outdoors. Out of season we like to travel to broaden our horizons.

This was our 2nd visit to Helen’s Høme and we loved it even more this time. Helen and her husband were wonderful hosts and we highly recommend that people go and stay there. Wonderful.
The Perfect Retreat
A small but comfortable and character-ful gite with an extremely ample and comfortable bed, artistic decor and excellent shower. We had full use of the owners' secluded and beautiful garden with the cleanest and most well - looked after pool we have ever had the pleasure of swimming in. The only sound to be heard in the garden was the humming of the bees around the flowers, and the butterflies were abundant. Our hostess Helen could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful .
Well off the beaten track in a pretty hamlet surrounded by farmland, the lovely and unspoilt town of Villefranche de Rouergue was easily accessible by car in 10 mins. Beautiful villages and towns all around, and the most wonderful views made for an area we would definitely return to for another visit.
Exactly as described, this small and charming gite is well situated for a huge range of fascinating trips into history, culture and even gastronomy. The owners living alonside offer a warm welcome and an eagerness to share information about the area. Situated in a small hamlet, the property is quiet yet not isolated. Would ceratinly recommend a stay here.
Sophie and Patrick are a charming couple. They stayed with us for the first time in August and we really enjoyed their company. It was like having two friends to stay. It was lovely to sit in the garden at the end of the day and chat about anything and everything.
Helen & Didier
Bon accueil.
A recommander !
