Family weekend break
This is an ideal property and location for a family break. We were 3 generations age 13 - 83 years theres plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable and the pool/snooker table is a bonus. It's a real home from home with everything that you need. We had nice weather so we were able to enjoy the patio and there's plenty of chairs for everyone. Its only a short 5 minute stroll to the beach or a two minute drive and the bay is a beautiful place. We would happily recommend this property and would return
It was a lovely joint big birthdays celebration with the family (6 adults 4 children and a sausage dog) . We had more than enough space. Perfect location for the beach. Close to aminaties.
60th Birthday with family
Fantastic house in great position. Would benefit from an additional shower
Excellent Location - Property let itself down
The location is excellent. A (really) short walk from the house down a quiet residential street and you are almost at the beach. The house occupies an elevated position and from certain rooms you can actually see the sea/beach. The house itself is in a quiet cul-de-sac so no noise from passing traffic etc. Nice beach cafes, pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. Short drive from retail park where you will find Asda, Tesco and Morrisons amongst others should you need anything though we opted to have our shopping for the weekend delivered which was great!
The house = sadly, disappointing. Not all bad but hope the owners take the feedback on board to improve the stay for others.
Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us on arrival and we pulled up at the house just as Storm Hannah kicked off! Whilst we were warm and dry (heating was fine), it became obvious that the house would more than benefit from double glazing! The wind whistled through the single pane windows and was really loud during the night. There were definitely times when the draft from the windows blew the curtains so it felt more like camping! Thankfully, the weather improved the next day so it wasn't an issue for the 2nd night.
The house generally would do from some modernisation, especially the kitchen and bathroom and the house wasn't particularly clean in some areas. The kitchen wasn't very well equipped considering the house accommodates so many people. Due to having young children in the group, we opted to eat in both nights and whilst plates and cutlery were plentiful, there were not enough pans, serving dishes, etc and this made cooking difficult. There weren't enough seats round the dining table either so some of the party had to eat at the small table in the kitchen. A highchair was provided but there were no stair gates so small children will need to be supervised on the stairs - it was stressful trying to ensure the door into the hall remained closed at all times so the adventurous 18 month old didn't try to climb them!
The house desperately needs another main bathroom. There are 2 toilets in the property but one of these is in the en suite so is pretty much out of the question and one shower is nowhere near enough!
On a positive, the pool table was enjoyed by all and there were plenty of games, videos for entertainment when rain stopped play and communication re the booking was great and Nigel (Host) was extremely accommodating.
Thanks for your feedback
Storm Hannah must have been more like a hurricane as we do have double glazing throughout the house, maybe the window wasn’t closed properly.
I am surprised you struggled with serving dishes as there are lots maybe you missed the selection in the china display cabinet.
All photos were taken in March 2019 so there shouldn’t be any surprises
Lovely big property, great location only 5 minutes from the beach ! What could anyone else want ? Fabulous!!
Great house in great location!
We had a lovely stay here with all the family to celebrate a golden wedding anniversary - the house was perfect and had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely be recommending to friends and would love to stay here again in the future!
It was a pleasure having you and we hope to welcome you back
