About the property

houseboatinamsterdam.nl

We would love to welcome you on board of our houseboat and share with you our experience of a unique way of living in this beautiful city.

Waking up in the morning with the reflection of the sunlight on the surface of the water of the river Amstel, hearing the sound of the ducks and birds and watching the rowers passing by whilst drinking your morning coffee (or tea) or enjoying the sunset with a nice glass of wine from the private deck of this little quirky houseboat apartment.

Your own private little quirky houseboat apartment on the Amstel. Just outside the crazy bubble of the city center in in a family friendly area in the hip and happening quarter De Pijp. How lovely....

Your houseboat has a small deck and it's own entrance, free WIFI/WLAN, two cozy little authentic sleep cabins with a double bed each, a bathroom, a separate toilet, a living room with a dining area and a small and simple pantry.

Super cute isn't it?!?!?

On top of this it is provided with free bed linen and as many towels as you need.

Note that it is comfortable for maximum 4 guests and is self catered and as it is an original ship it is less suitable for elderly or disabled people and it has its peculiarities ;))

If you want to party, smoke or do drugs, this is not the accommodation you are looking for. As it is located in a family friendly part of the De Pijp quarter: no loud activities, no smoking and no drugs in and around the houseboat.

Would you love to know more about our houseboat apartment, please feel free to contact us any time.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Wonderful place to stay to visit amsterdam and lovely owners!"

Stayed here for a few days to explore amsterdam after a business trip. Great location. Very central to everything - can walk to city center in a few minutes. Train and train stop is very close. There is a nice park nearby. Shopping and museums were very close too.

And the best of all - staying in a houseboat is a really nice experience.

Didn't do a lot of cooking as I wanted to try out all the great amsterdam restaurants. But the house boat has a fully equipped kitchen - great for all the breakfast items that Coleta had set up.

Can't wait to visit in spring/summer in amsterdam and stay in Janna - to get a different feel of the city!

Coleta was very friendly and welcoming. Gave a lot of information about the city and maps etc. Lots of tips on shopping and food!

Trevlig husbåt och ett varmt välkomnande och hjälpsam värd. Området ligger lagom utanför city med många små trevliga restaurager i närheten. Rekomenderas.

Perfect choice

  • 5 of 5

The stay in the houseboat with over a hundred years of history was for us, from European inland, very unusual and attractive experience. We enjoyed little cabins for sleeping (little bit claustrophobic but very comfortable!), terrace at the top of the boat, the sounds of water pump - all this creates an unforgettable atmosphere! Coleta was so nice, hearty and very patient (regarding my complications with Amsterdam public transport before arrival), the communication was perfect and I very appriciated her recommendations and information about the city and life in Amsterdam. The neighborhood is perfect - the busy street with tram, shops, cafés and restaurants just around the corner, you feel that you are just in the heart of the city and the walk to historic centre, which is not far, is very pleasant.

Houseboat jannah is a great place to stay with your family or friends. Our experience was during ADE week and we were really comfortable. Her hostess Coleta showed us the house and gave us directions and advice to have a very rewarding experience un Amsterdam. My friends and I surely repeat the stay in casabarco jannah in the future because it has been a very pleasant atmosphere.

The houseboat is located in a FAMILY FRIENDLY area on one of the best spots on the river Amstel in the Quartier Latin of Amsterdam, called De Pijp and is just a 10 to 20 minutes walk to most tourist attractions like the Rijksmuseum, the Heineken Experience, Albert Cuyp Market, the Hermitage, RAI congress centre, the old centre of Amsterdam, one of the nicest shopping area’s of Amsterdam called “Utrechtsestraat” and lots of good restaurants on the Van Woustraat.
