About Annie Evans

There are 4 of us that own this property. Jackie and Chris who are retired and spend most of the summer season in France and Paul and Annie who live and work in Devon. Paul is an retired Royal Naval officer and enjoys escaping to France when he can as he now works abroad. Paul is Jackie's son so this is a family purchase. We have made many wonderful friends in France and enjoy all that the region has to offer.

Annie Evans purchased this house in 2008

Why Annie Evans chose Lignol

Having spent a few family holidays and feeling totally chilled out after our holidays we all decided to club together and buy our beautiful house which we all instantly fell in love with.

We spend a lot of time here now to unwind from the pressures of the UK and hope you will find it as relaxing as we do.

What makes this house unique

The owners reside close by and are on call to help around the clock.

The garden and associated amenities are exclusive to the property in a secluded, peaceful environment.

A low level of ambient light makes for a truly breath-taking night sky (cloud-cover permitting).

Guestbook comments from the owner

Exclusive Detached House with 5M Heated Pool in Large Private Garden, Brittany
average rating of 4.9166665 based on 13 reviews

The house is very comfortable with everything you need for a great stay.

  • 5 of 5

The house is lovely and very comfortable. The pool was a welcome relief in the hot weather. There is plenty to see in the local area from towns and villages to lakes and rivers. We had a great time exploring in the car and on our bikes. The roads were very quiet so we had no worries about sending the children into the local village, Lignol, to pick up bread and croissants. I would highly recommend staying here and we are looking forward to booking again. The house owners are very friendly and helpful which was great as this was our first time self catering in France.

Lovely house with a beautiful private garden, a great terrace and a small heated swimming pool. Stunning Brittany countryside location and walking distance to a very French little village. We'll be back!

Everything you see in the photo's and more is what you experience with this property. The upkeep and maintenance is fabulous and it feels like home from home as soon as you set foot inside.

Chris and Jackie give such a warm welcome and always available for advice if required.

The area has much too see and do ( sometimes with a little drive involved) but with a little research and recommendations you can find some real gems

Would totally recommend as a base for your Brittany holiday but you could just stay in and enjoy the peace and Quiet. Thank you for making our stay perfect from end to end

Couldn't fault the property for quality, facilities, cleanliness and being well looked after by the owners without them being intrusive. Would heartily recommend it.

Lovely cottage, remote location, as we like it, yet close enough to a small village (Lignol) with restuarant and a baguettery (sic), if you fancy a walk. Cottage very well equipped, neat and tidy, large garden with heated pool, well maintained and private. Hosts next door very friendly, yet unobtrusive.

Plenty of walks and sights in the area, and nice beaches within an hour's drive.

We had an excellent week, will return.

Le Maison Jaune

  • 5 of 5

This is easily one of the nicest cottages (gites) we have stayed in. The facilities are great and the garden with the heated swimming pool is fantastic and the kids absolutely loved it. The porperty itself has an abundance of applicances, games, books, dvd's and even a table football! it was very clean and the pool and grounds were constantly maintained during our stay by the owner (who were great). It is nearby to many facilities including a supermarket and petrol station as well as many restuarants. The nearest beach is about 40-45 mins drive but once there they are very clean and child friendly.

i would not hesitate to stay here again and have already recommended it to friends and family.
