Sleeps - 2/15 + 2 baby cots. This beautifully secluded but not isolated detached French farmhouse full of character with a stunning14m x 5m heated swimming pool ( heated 1st May to 31 August. Set in its own grounds of over an hectare of land surrounded by panoramic views of the rolling Limousin woodlands, forests, open meadows, it catches the amazing early morning sunrise and evening sunset. This delightful property is reached by an enchanting path of 200m which also leads you onto the local swimming lake. It is totally secluded, not another property in sight, bliss.

Lake St Pardoux ( 330 hectares) is only 10 drive away with 3 beach areas surrounded by woodland paths ideal for mountain biking, walking, swimming, fishing. Tarzan park for a fab day out with the family and aqua park which features indoor and outdoor swimming areas and slides.

Bessines Sur Gartempe has its own swimming lake which can be reached by mountain bike, running or walking direct from the property via 3 different woodland paths, ideal property for athletes - cycling, running, swimming and triathlete training.

Restaurants, supermarkets, bars, bakers, butchers, banks all within 6/7 minutes drive from the property and of course numerous markets in Bessines Sur Gartempe and the surrounding areas.

Lots to do especially in the summer months or you can simply lie by the pool soaking up the sun.

Family gathering

Pool area and grounds are lovely. House was pleasant and characterful but bedrooms very hot and not air conditioned ( rather a heatwave). The property worked well for our varied ages. Kitchen was rather tired and aga and oven difficult to use. It would have been useful to have some basic instructions and information on the house, the area, refuse collection etc. The hosts were kind and were there when we arrived to show us round.

Fantastic holiday house

Great house with lots of space and areas outside to sit, drink eat and relax. The pool area was the standout, great size and games to play with pool and ping pong.. enough to keep the family amused all day :-) Thankyou !

Great size for more than one family group

The villa is set in massive grounds which are great for children. There are plenty of amenities like table tennis and a large pool which everyone enjoyed. The house is well provisioned with cleaning materials, towels etc and a lovely welcome basket of local produce was waiting for us on arrival. A number of kitchen appliances need updating including hob and ovens. One shower leaked and one air con dripped onto the floor. With 12 of us the seating area outside the kitchen needed levelling to prevent anyone accidentally falling off their chair. Our hosts communicated really well. One suggestion would be some recommendations, maps and leaflets on local sites. There is far more than I expected to do in the local area and it wasn’t too busy. Overall though we really enjoyed our time .

Fantastic family fun

We had a wonderful stay at the property. June & Les were great hosts. The 8 kids in the party loved the swimming pool and all the activities. The house is perfect for families with lots of great touches. The welcome pack of drinks and snacks was also lovely. The house is quirky and suited the 12 of us really well. The dishwasher didn't clean the dishes so it was washing up by hand for the week which was slightly irritating but that was the only thing. Lake St Pardoux took 15 mins to get to and provided a great family fun day out kayaking on the lake and zip lining through the trees. A fantastic holiday and we will be back!
