About Chris Wilks
We bought the chalet in winter 2008 and immediately fell in love with the views, village and position. Since buying it we have completely remodelled the interior and have enjoyed many lovely weeks in the summer and winter with family and friends. We enjoy skiing, walking, climbing, paragliding, tennis and, curiously, old classic sports cars. We love the chalet as our second home and we hope you will enjoy it too! Chris and Melanie

Charming chalet, incredible views and huge bonus to have a pool
We have just returned from a wonderful week here. Two families with young school aged children shared the space; enjoying the amazing view, cinema room and pool. Hope to return one day. A wonderful spot.
Given a very warm welcome to a great property in a good location.
Fantastic weeks skiing holiday - easy access to the slopes. It was very suitable for our mixed age and ability group!
A very comfortable chalet on an excellent spot in a perfect family skiing area
We have very much enjoyed the comforts and space of the chalet for the eight of us. The location was very quiet and the view superb. All you need just a few minutes away by foot, like groceries, bakery, ski shop end restaurants. And the ski shuttle stop in front of the house brought us rapidly to and from the slopes. The ski area was a positive surprise. Slopes for every level, easy to find our way or find each other when some ski early and others late. Capacity was more than sufficient. Although in high season it never felt too crowded once you are on the slopes. For those who did not ski there was enough to do and sea. We had nothing to wish left after this holiday.
An Amazingly well equipped and clean chalet.
Five of us stayed here for one week at the end of July 2017. It really wasn't long enough! Everything was so well organised for us by Melanie long before our arrival. Valerie was really helpful in showing us the chalet when we arrived too. It was beautiful, one of the best chalets we have stayed in! We didnt want to leave! It had all mod cons and everything to keep our three teenagers happy and good wifi! The music system was great in entertaining my husband!! There was plenty of room, extremely clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We loved our pastry cake that was left for our us, and it didn't last for very long! Having a washing machine and tumble dryer was a bonus too.
I think we stayed in one of the hottest weeks the Alps has had for a while? The weather was amazing and the pool was very much needed! Very private with a beautiful view. We were so spoilt! The jacuzzi was an added luxury but i think we needed some fans to cool us down! We hardly used the TV room as there was too much to see and do! A first for our teens!
This was an activity holiday for us and Melanie had given us all the information we needed to book ahead before our stay. The white water rafting down in Passy was wonderful. We did a full 'Trapper Day" that included a BBQ lunch. It was delicious and so much. Our guide was brilliant (a bit rough around the edges) but he knew his stuff and kept me calm when my husband fell in just before a rapid?!!!
We would highly recommend that you try the mountain biking and hire wires up in Les Contamines or St Gervais, if you feel up to it! One of our best highlights was the tram ride up to the glacier of Mont Blanc from St Gervais. It is quite a long ride but the scenery is spectacular and well worth it.
Everything is in walking distance for the supermarkets and restaurants. St Gervais is a very pretty town and everyone was very helpful and friendly.
Thank you Melanie & Chris for an unforgettable holiday.
Ideal chalet for a wonderful family holiday
We had a wonderful family holiday here in July 2017. All correspondence with the owners from the booking process through to our arrival was excellent with all questions answered promptly.
We arrived to find that a thoughtful welcome pack had been left by the owners which proved to be very handy as France appears to close after midday on a Sunday.
All our information needs were met with a comprehensive local information folder showcasing a variety of activities for all tastes.
The villa itself was very well maintained with high quality fixtures and fittings and there was plenty of space for everybody.
The cinema room was ideal for lazy nights in with the supplied Netflix an added bonus, as well as a large selection of movies and books. The WiFi was sufficiently strong that it covered nearly all levels of the house and the pool area. The pool itself was ideal for families with the water level ranging from about 3 feet to 6 feet. The decking area around the pool was older but the owners kindly provided many flip flops to prevent splinters.
Our favourite part of the house though was the terrace area outside the lounge which was regularly used early in the morning and last thing at night.
Saint Gervais is a lovely little town with plenty of good bars, restaurants, shops and activities within walking distance of the chalet.
We would not hesitate to book again when returning to this area.
Great chalet in a lovely town
This was our second year in the same week (Easter Half Term) We had such a good time last year we re booked almost immediately. The chalet is very well set up with fantastic long views of the mountains from the living / dining room. Very well equipped kitchen with everything in the right place. A great environment for relaxing family meals after a good days skiing. This year was very hot and although the snow was patchy they do a great job of keeping runs open. Les Contamines has very good snow. We sat on the large deck a lot this year and looked enviously at the pool, it was that hot. The bedrooms are cosy with very comfortable beds. The children loved the cinema room and the adults appreciated the sauna. We were 2 families with 3 children and the room set up was great for us. There was off street parking for 2 cars and a short 5 minute stroll into town which had a wonderful selection of shopping with 2 mini supermarkets for the essentials and a lot of specialist shops to treat yourself. The ski bus stop was outside the property and a short trip to the lifts. The Mont Blanc tramway is a short walk away. The heating was set perfectly and the showers were hot and powerful. Having a washing machine and dryer meant that we could pack lighter this year and refresh things rather than take too much. The extra fridge and freezer in the garage were also great to store all the extras we took with us. Melanie and Chris were good to deal with and very open and friendly throughout the whole process. If you book this chalet you will not be disappointed.
The nearest airport is Geneva which is well served with budget airlines from regional airports as well as scheduled airlines from the major UK and European airports. Geneva is 50 minutes by car and transfers are easily arranged with a number of taxi and airport transfer companies operating in the Alps. Other ways of arriving are TGV/snow train to Annecy (50 minutes away), flights to Lyon or Grenoble (less than 2 hours away). Car not essential.
Distance to Saint Gervais 300 metres, Megeve 5 miles, Les Contamines 5 miles, Chamonix 10 miles, Courmayeur 25 miles, Geneva 45 miles, Annecy 45 miles.
Located in the French northern Alps and situated at the feet of Mont Blanc, St Gervais has stunning scenery and a wide variety of things to do.
Saint Gervais is a beautiful Savoyard village with a friendly atmosphere. It is home to Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc and has been a popular holiday destination for over a hundred years. There are a number of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants and every Thursday morning there is a market and the village's main square is a hive of activity.
The towns of Megeve and Chamonix are just a 20 minute drive away should you wish to explore a little further.
St Gervais has a huge number of activities on offer. It is popular with walkers and cyclists in the summer - it is one of the starting points for the Tour du Mont Blanc. In winter Saint Gervais has a large ski area (over 440 km) which links to nearby Megeve. The Mont Blanc Tramway can be taken from Saint Gervais to the Bellevue plateau (1800m) or the Prarion giving skiers access to the Les Houches ski area in winter. Or it can be taken by walkers or those just wishing to see the wonderful panorama in winter or summer. For those who would like to relax a little St Gervais's famous thermal parc offers complementary therapies and massage.
The village also has a brand new indoor/outdoor pool complex with a 25m pool, a play pool, a paddling pool, an outdoor pool, a sauna and hammam. Also in the village is an olympic sized ice rink, clay tennis courts (with international tennis tournament in June) and
a great mini-golf course. Mountain bikes are easy to hire in the town too.
In summer the summer activity pass costs around 100 euros for a family of 4 or 5 for a week and gives access to the swimming pool, mini-golf, cable cars and activities at the leisure park in nearby Les Contamines.
