About Paul and Jo Young
We purchased our apartment in 2007 and have loved visiting the area ever since. Jo is fluent in French, which has helped with the purchase and the rental of our holiday home. We have made contact with a local agency who we use for cleaning, keys, maintenance etc. We will always help you with ski schools and any 2 for 1 offers of ski hire we know about. We are always happy to help you with your holiday and feel that we treat our customers as our friends. We now have several regular repeat customers coming year after year.

Had a hreatvtime
Easy slope access, clean, well equipped but very small and could use more seating. We were four adults and there was only space for 3 to sit down, except on wooden stools. Fine for a few days
A great place for families
Like the previous reviewer, we have just returned from a very enjoyable ski holiday at this warm and very well appointed apartment. The downstairs living space is typically compact, as is to be expected, but it is well designed and equipped and the upstairs sleeping area is surprisingly spacious. The apartment is situated a little off the beaten track in a quieter village at the edge of Les Arcs 1800 which will suit some but may be a little quiet for others looking for a little nightlife. The ski in/ski-out possibilities are a real bonus. Would definitely recommend having snow chains handy for your arrival & departure - and consider pre-booking yourself indoor car parking to avoid having to dig yourself out of deep snow at the end of a great week skiing. Highly recommended apartment with a very communicative and helpful owner.
Perfect in so many ways
We've been to this apartment twice and have just booked again for next year. It is 100% ski in/out, and is so close to a great Chairlift, which takes you to many slopes, and also to the ski school that we chose. Inside, it is warm and cosy, and has a lovely feel to it. Even though the kitchen area is obviously smaller than you would have in house, it has essentials, such as a microwave, dishwasher, oven/grill, fridge and wonderfully a slow cooker, (which we found vey useful). The kitchen utensils were numerous and we can't think of anything else we would use. There is wifi available and a DVD player. There is a fold up table, which is a great space saver, with small stools. The bunk beds are great and the double bed very comfortable. It is also very close to a new ski-hire shop, and a short walk down to a great Supermarket and the main village. Nothing was too far away. We hope to have many more happy holidays here. The communication with the owners is very quick and also was very helpful when researching for our first every skiing holiday with our children. Les Arcs 1800, to us is a perfect skiing resort.
Special interest holidays:
Ideal for mountain biking, walking, river rafting, horse riding, or touring, plus the use of the communal tennis courts and fantastic new indoor outdoor swimming / Aqua park new in 2015 season.
Note: Bikes can be stored and locked onto our 5th floor balcony in the Summer by taking them carefully through the apartment!
The nearest airport during the ski season is Chambery (1 1/2hrs). However, you have a choice of Geneva (2 hrs), Lyon (1 3/4hrs), Grenoble (2hrs) and Turin (2 1/2hrs). A range of budget airlines fly into all of these airports. Or simply take the snow train from London direct to Bourg-Saint-Maurice. For car hire we would suggest you peruse the various websites for the best deal. Carrentals.co.uk or carhire3000 are worth trying.
The four villages of Charvet, Chantel, Villards and Charmotteger that make up Arc 1800 are continuous with each other. We are in Charmotteger which is relatively quiet, but only a short 5 min walk away from the bustling epicentre of Villards - bars, restaurants, boutiques, supermarkets and nightlife.
The Savoie region is well known not only for its fabulous scenery but also for its delicious local produce and wine. Try the famous raclette or dip into a Savoyard fondu.
A short drive away is the stunning Annecy with its beautiful old town, lake and beaches, or the equally beautiful Lac du Bourget and its beaches near the ancient town of Chambery. Moreover, you are on the borders of Italy and Switzerland with all the travel opportunities they represent.
