Sands is a stunning ground floor maisonette which offers abundant space and light, a modern finish throughout with parquet flooring in every room (measuring an astounding 140sqm); open-plan kitchen/sitting/dining, modern bathroom and additional en-suite, 2 large bedrooms sleep 5 (2 sofabeds in lounge and another 2 in conservatory area which overlooks the front walkways and beach, sleep another 4 persons). Sands boasts a 46' LCD TV, DVD, 5+1 music system, and wifi internet connection and free fixed line telephony (Malta only), surrounded by furniture that exudes comfort, elegance and style. To compliment this property, a back garden, measuring 85sqm houses a 10' diameter splash pool for kids and adults alike, portable gas barbeque, garden furniture, hammock, and both sunbathing and shaded area. Located away from the crowded scene but close enough just the same, Sands is tucked away in a quite niche for great family entertainment. A true gem, definitely a place to fall in love with

Excellent Host

This was our first visit to Malta and had no idea where to stay so we trolled through the many sites till we came across Home -Away .we narrowed our choice down to a few apartments that would suite us .We contacted Paul about 804890 but was informed it was booked ,he did suggest another apartment in Spinola Bay that may suite our needs better as we are both seniors and did not want to end up in a rowdy area he sent us details of a Luxury 2 bed called Silver in a modern complex on the 5th floor overlooking the bay and was assured it would fit our needs .We had a bad experience last year on a holiday booking and where very cautious in making sure it was right for us ,all through the process Paul kept in touch assuring us of his credentials and sent us many photos of the place offered .In the end we sent off our deposit and during this time we received reassuring emails .We where met at the airport by Paul's driver and taken the 30 min drive to the apartment as we approached the place it was close to midnight our apprehension grew as it was not what we though it would be like old buildings surrounding us but our fears where soon unfounded when we where meet by Paul's son outside and showed us into this modern marble clad block up to the 5th floor we entered this fabulous apartment with all mod cons and a spectacular view from the balcony looking into the bay .We where given a tour of the place and shown where everything was and when we where completely satisfied we where given a welcome pack of provisions and nice touch was a bottle of bubbly .All the contact details where left in case we needed any help during our stay thankfully we didn't need them .The location was very good 5 minutes from the local bus stop with buses going to all parts of the island on our door stop and all for 6.50Euro for a weekly ticket including the return to the airport excellent value .The place was 2 minutes from the luxury Portomaso complex and the Hilton Hotel .Take a trip up the tower to the 22 floor for a spectacular view of the island .

On the check out day Paul came around at a agreed time and inspected the place and handed us back our security deposit with no fuss .He was a real gentleman to deal with and would use his services if and when we return to Malta .Book with confidence with this company Brian &Elsie

I am writing this review to say that the owner of this property, Paul, is an excellent host. You should rent from him whenever possible. He picked me up at the airport and left me with fresh water, milk, and some snacks. He was always available via email for my (many) questions and concerns. Paul was always polite and did everything he could to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you Paul!

Me and five friends of mine stayed for about a week in october there. We arrived at the airport and the host was late but he immediately called and informed us about it so we hadn't got to worry. The ride to our apartment was a bit too fast but we arrived there safe and sound. As we entered it we couldn't believe our eyes; a big living room with lots of sofas and a large TV, two bathrooms, a big perch outside with a jacuzzi and a nice halfopen kitchen in the middle of the appartment. There are more than enough furniture and it's all very modern. The hosts thought of all the details, like adapters and so on. By the way the hosts are very friendly and if you have a problem with something there or a question, they'll always help you. We had some little peoblems with insects but we managed to fight them and I think in every southern country you'll have such problems. They always get the way into your apartment if they want to...The location of the apartment was perfect. You reach the beach, the supermarket and all the good party clubs in just three to five minutes footwalk. Also the busstop isn't far away. We were the first visitors who could try the jacuzzi with the heater. It wasn't working very well but I think they will quickly solve the problem for the next guests.

I absolutely recommend this apartment especially for young people: it's a real fair price, perfect location, party next door, beach five minutes away, nice view and you have always help if you need some :)! In addition there weren't any problems with the neighbours.

Luxurious Apartment in a Prime location

Myself and my boyfriend stayed in the Sands for a week. Neither of us had been to Malta and so we were looking to stay somewhere central to the beach and night life and restaurants. We picked the perfect place. The apartment is modern and spacious and it was lovely to have our own space to relax. We were in walking distance of the bay so we had a wide choice of restaurants to chose from (our favourites were Barracuda, Padre Piccolo, 1927 and Meet.) The bars and night clubs of Paceville were just behind the complex. Although this is a lively and trendy spot you could not hear any noise from the apartment as it was nestled in off the road way.

Josanna could not have been nicer. On arrival her driver picked us up at the airport and we met her at the apartment. She gave us all the information of the apartment and the area and left us to it. We didnt have to contact her for our stay as we found our way around fine. On the day of departure she allowed us the use of a room in her villa to rest and change before our flight. Her driver then dropped us straight to the airport.

Overall it was the best holiday I have had. Malta is such a lovely island with so much to see and do and the weather was just perfect in October. The Sands apartment definitely enhanced our stay and I have no doubt we will be back in the future.

group holiday in Malta

We recently visited Malta on holiday for the first time on a group holiday as a group of 18 year olds. We had high expectations of the appartment and they we more than exceeded. It was more than we could ask for. We were a group of 8 people that there was more than enough space for us all. The location of the appartment really helps the great atmosphere as it is situated right in the Centre of paceville. The security was no issue on the holiday as there was a security gate and Door on the outside of the appartment. There was a fully functional gas barbecue outside by the tabe. This ment we could have barbecue on each night we wanted to. The splash pool was great fun on holiday as after a hot day on the beech we could chill out in the evening in the pool. The owners were extremely helpful by making sure that our every need is met, from transport on arrival to giving us taxi numbers. So if you are looking for a good holiday in Malta around paceville then you should strongly consider this appartmert for both excellent service and value for money.

The Perfect Holiday

Sands review

I could say Paul and Josanne are the perfect hosts but that wouldn’t do them justice. They really went the extra mile in making our holiday wonderful.

They’d arranged for a driver to be waiting for us when we arrived, which made what could be a stressful part of the journey effortless and welcoming.

When we arrived at the apartment it’s exactly as it looks in the photos, and every bit as impressive! It’s got everything you need to make your holiday comfortable and the welcome food pack was very welcome indeed!

The apartment has every mod con you could wish for, from the Wi-fi to the washing machine, but my personal favourite was the swing seat in the garden, I spent many happy hours gently swinging with a glass of wine.

St Julians has a lot of young people but this shouldn’t put off those that are young at heart, everyone we met was friendly and accommodating.

Everything is on your doorstep from this location. The bars restaurants and clubs of Paceville are just a minute’s walk away, but when you curl up on the sofa for the evening they could be a million miles away.

The beach is also just on your doorstep and has a beautiful restaurant overlooking St Georges bay, I can heartily recommend starting your holiday here with a nice bottle of bubbly and the squid pasta – exquisite!

You can also find pretty much everything you need at the Bay street shopping centre, the Marks and Spencer being a very welcome piece of home.

Also in the bay street shopping centre is a hotel that has a lovely rooftop pool, for only 5 Euros you can spend the whole day lounging by it and you get the 5 Euros back to spend at the bar!

There is a Cinema at the eden complex, and across the road there’s pool, bowling alleys and video games.

It’s also a great base to explore from, on the road next to the beach you will find several helpful people where you can book excursions all over Malta and Gozo.

The beach bar at midnight is a must, and if you’ve had a few too many the night before the bar at the far end of the beach does a great Full English breakfast.

On our departure we had a late flight but Paul and Josanne let us spend the day at their beautiful home and made us feel like part of the family. I was touched by their hospitality.

We had a wonderful holiday and Paul and Josanne played a large part in that, thanks to you both for everything x
