The cottage is very well located to the A66 and we were up and out early one crisp morning and in Robin Hood's Bay an hour and half later then on to Whitby and back by dusk which is a lovely day out, we also visited high force waterfall on NYE which was just lovely in the crisp winter sun again well located from the cottage, there are several farm shops along the A66 and also the cottage is a nice leisurely stroll into Barnard itself
Thank you for making our NY get away just what we wanted
We were made to feel very welcome and Anne bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we wanted. Home baked scones with jam and cream were waiting for us on arrival, a lovely touch. The cottage was well maintained and furnished to a high standard. We had everything we could possibly need. Books, magazines, games, dvds were all provided if we needed them. The views from the cottage were lovely and it made a good base to explore the surrounding area. Hopefully we will be back for many more visits. Barnard Castle, The Bowes Museum, Bowlees visitor centre and the walk from Low Force to High Force are all well worth a visit.
