About Ann Walker
We live in the countryside in England and decided that the seaside would provide a different experience for everyone. Our children who are now in their late twenties and early thirties still come with their friends and partners. We love sharing the cottage with our visitors some of whom have been 10 or 12 times.
Ann Walker purchased this Cottage in 2002
Why Ann Walker chose Polruan
We first visited Polruan in the 1990s. Despite the fact that it poured with rain every day and that we had three small children and a dog with us, we loved every minute of that holiday. We were determined to buy a house nearby and when some years later an opportunity presented itself in Polruan we started to renovate September Cottage. We visit as often as our jobs permit and our children who are now grown up love to come to Cornwall as well. Our eldest son proposed to his girlfriend on the cliffs in Polruan so it has become a special place for all the family. We have received many visitors over the past few years who have sent glowing letters of recommendation about the cottage and its wonderful views over the Fowey estuary.
What makes this Cottage unique
Wonderful views over the bay towards Fowey with the many boats which sail into the harbour. Views on all sides of the cottage. The unspoilt village of Polruan, near the attractions of a tourist centre like Fowey but lovely and peaceful to come home to after a day of sightseeing and walking. We have our parking space about 100 metres from the cottage.
100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
Gorgeous cosy cottage in prime Polruan
_September cottage is the most delightful and beautifully presented shoreline retreat, located in the chocolate box village of Polruan. With its prestige position and uninterrupted beautiful estuary view from the comfort of the lounge, a roaring fire and glass of red wine was just the tonic to unwind for a long weekend stay from busy city life.
With two lovely double bedrooms and a fully modernised kitchen and bathroom, it has all the mod cons a family or group of friends needs but within a traditional Cornish cottage, it’s the best of both worlds. With miles of trails to walk, sights to see and the wonderful town of Fowey just a short boat ride across the estuary, it will leave you refreshed and recharged to face the week ahead.
Beautiful, Clean and very Attentive owners
We stayed here in early October so it was very quiet. The cottage is clean, light and airy and everything is as it should be. The only comment we would make is on the size of the bathroom. Way too small. Get rid of the 3/4 bath as it is pointless and have a walk in shower. Apart from that, lovely location and cottage. Would recommend.
So glad you enjoyed the cottage and our efforts to assist you.
Thank you for your comments and suggestions.
Unfortunately it would be impossible to make the bathroom bigger without losing our second bedroom which we like to have for family reasons.
The bathroom was completely updated about 18 months ago and we decided to have a bath and a shower. Our new shower has received several positive comments. Obviously however we are trying to appeal to as many guests as possible and lots of our guests still like a bath as well including some with small babies and some who do not like showers.
Thank you for your recommendation and positive comments and I am delighted you enjoyed your holiday.
cosy comfortable cottage with spectacular views
September Cottage is a cosy, comfortable cottage with everything
there that you need for a self catering holiday. The view from the
sitting room window is spectacular! If you are not careful you could
spend a lot of time just gazing out of the window and forget to go out! We had a great time revisiting places we had not been to for a
few years and it did help that we had wonderful weather.
Thank you so much for doing a review. I am delighted that you thought that the cottage was comfortable and well equipped. It is great too that you had good weather and that you enjoyed the view. Thank
Lovely cottage with gorgeous harbour views
Lovely little well kept cottage with updated bathroom and kitchen with all the appliances you need. Beautiful views situated in a lovely peaceful village. We used it as a base mainly for sightseeing around Cornwall although we did spend a few days visiting the local area. There is a handy ferry across to Fowey which we used a few times and had a fabulous Sunday dinner at the King of Prussia.
This is a lovely , well equipped cottage in a good location for exploring south east Cornwall. Highly recommended.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review and for your kind email too. I am glad you had a successful holiday and like us enjoy watching all the boats, both large and small from the sitting room window in the estuary. It is a spectacular view. Your suggestion of a pair of binoculars is a good one. Thank you. Ann
Beautiful views and very well equipped cottage, high standard of décor. Nothing to fault, we really enjoyed our stay.
Just noticed that I did not thank you for your lovely review. I am delighted that you enjoyed your holiday. Thank you for taking the trouble to send it.
