The house itself has just undergone a full refurbishment to bring the accommodation up to the most modern standards, with marble bathrooms including roll top baths and showers, brand new wooden kitchen with range cooker, American fridge/freezer, and all the mod cons, finished off with walnut work surfaces and up stands. The house has been designed with outdoor pursuits in mind so there are all the amenities for drying our and relaxing after a hard day on the Hill – drying room with separate boot room, large comfortable sofas round a large log fireplace and a sizable drinks cabinet for stocking all the local malts. The house is set in a secluded part of StrathConon, descibed as ‘one of Scotland's most beautiful Glens’.

Easter short break
We had a lovely short break over Easter at Coul House with 10 adults, 4 children and a baby. I was a bit worried on arrival that the house didn't look very big but with its quirky lay out and good sized bedrooms it was more than adequate. The house is really well equipped, especially for families, even having a nappy pail, kids soft toilet seat and 2 good quality high chairs, which was great. The kids loved all the different levels and we had a good few quality indoor games of hide and seek.
There is loads of parking space and also a gate to close off the garden/parking from the road making it a very child friendly outdoor space. There is an abundance of baths/toilets but only one shower, however we never ran out of hot water and the house is lovely and cosy.
Overall we all agreed that Coul house was a great house for a group break and as the cost of the rental was very decent we will definitely be back again in the future. Thanks to the Alex the owner and Roy who greeted us.
We spent a fantastic Easter break at Coul House. We are: 10 friends + 2 children (toddlers). The house is clearly bigger on the inside and offers everything one needs for a comfy and relaxing get away. The maze like design of the house gives it its own charm. It is perfectly located for either a day in the mountains, a stop at a whisky distillery (Glen Ord in Muir of Ord), a day at the beach (e.g. Cromarty) or a trip to a nearby town e.g. Strathpeffer. We had a fantastic time exploring all these options.

The house is ideally located and set up up for out door pursuits in all seasons. It is also ideally placed - you can walk out of the garden gate and straight into the Hills.
