About Lisette and Frenk
We are Lisette and Frenk. We are Dutch and presently live in Amsterdam. We like to travel around the world. We lived and worked many years abroad in countries in Africa, South Asia and the Americas. We searched in Europe for three years for a holiday home and accidently decided to have a look in Turkey. We found our piece of paradise in Kalkan, a seaside village with a wonderful atmosphere and a tropical feel..
Why Lisette and Frenk chose Kalkan
Kalkan is magical. The centre still resembles the Greek village it used to be long time ago. People are friendly and hospitable. Villa Bella is situated in the area called Kisla. Its a quieter spot than in the lively centre of Kalkan yet near enough for easy access by free water taxi across the bay during day in the main season (May to October), by taxi or by a 20 minutes easy stroll along the seaside.
What makes this Villa unique
The most important characteristic of the villa is the open view over the Kalkan Bay and the hills on the opposite side. The neighbouring, identical villa was amongst the 20 best seaside villas according to the Sunday Times in 2010. There are two beach clubs only minutes walking from Villa Bella, almost on the same level which is unusual for Kalkan. The Mahal beach club was chosen to have one of the ten best views of the world.

Superb Villa with great se views
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Bella, which was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. The interior is spacious and very well appointed, the outside space also spacious with plenty of room for 4 people with areas of shade if required. The views from the villa are beautiful, as are the sunsets. We required the assistance from Muhammet, the local management agent, for a couple of small things which were dealt with straight away without any problem.
All in all a wonderful relaxing holiday.
We hope to return to this lovely villa one day
the villa had everything we needed for a quiet relaxed week in the sun. well equipped and modern. this was our third visit to the villa and it has been well maintained and kept up to date. lovely shaded area for dining outside and comfy luxury sunbeds & shades by the pool. we went into Kalkan some nights to eat, finding taxi better value than the water taxi for three of us. good local restaurants in Kisla so no need to wander far to eat.
We are always happy to welcome guests like you. It motivates us to maintain the highest standards.
5 * quality and standards, idylic villa
Third time staying in Villa Bella.
The standard and quality of this villa never ceases to amaze us, the owners Frenk and Lisette maintain it to the highest of standards, always replacing furniture and utensils to keep it to the 5*standards it boasts, bedding and towels that are supplied are also of the highest quality.
Had a week of pure relaxation as always with amazing views across the bay and everything needed to make our holiday just perfect.
The location of the villa is perfect, just a short taxi ride to town where there is a great choice of restaurants.
Would definitely recommend this villa to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday , the owners organisation of your stay is always done with care and consideration to make it perfect and nothing is ever too much trouble.
Thankyou Frenk and Lisette for another perfect holiday in Villa Bella.
You are very welcome! We indeed strive to remain worthy of the 5 stars.
First holiday in Kalkan

Hope you return many times !
Lovely Villa - Helpful Owner
We stayed at Villa Bella for 2 weeks in October 2018 and couldn't fault it . As we have visited Kalkan several times in the past we are particularly fond of the Kisla area where this villa is positioned . We really liked the outside area with it's spectacular views across the bay to Kalkan itself . One big plus with this villa is the constant supply of hot water which in my experience is not always the case in Turkey .The journey into Kalkan is especially enjoyable using the frequent water taxi , which is in near proximity to the villa . My only slight criticism is a barking dog opposite whose main activity appeared to be chasing after every passing car . Frenk was very helpful in the booking process and organised our transfers which were completed without a hitch .
All in all a very enjoyable stay at a lovely villa . Would return again and recommend to others
THE COMPLETE PACKAGE!!
Villa bella is stunning,it really is home from home with the added advantage of an infinity pool and idyllic views.
Everything in the villa is spotlessly clean and of superb quality.
Owners Frenk and Lisette are very helpful, they make the whole process of booking very simple and organised.
This was our second visit to Villa Bella and we would definitely recommend it . Thank you Frenk and Lisette,we will see you next year.
Don't understand why HomeAway displays my name instead of yours, but it’s kind of funny.
You are very welcome next year!

Keen walkers & hikers can explore parts of the ancient Lycian Way which passes directly through the town. On Patara Beach are early morning horse ridding sessions and in the summer yoga classes are available on the sea front at Villa Mahal. Kalkan will inspire any photographer or painter with numerous photo and painting opportunities so don't forget to bring your camera and brushes.
Must do's when in Kalkan: a day trip to Kekova/Simena, Saklikent Gorge and a boat trip on Kalkan Bay.
The villa is 3 minutes stroll to both Kisla beach club (which offers the 5 min.'free' water taxi to Kalkan harbour) with its gently shelving blue flag pebble beach and the Mahal beach club, with its stunning sun bathing platforms and 5 star dining. The nature reserve Patara Beach, 18km of beautiful unspoilt sandy beach with ancient ruins and nesting turtles is only a 20 min. car/local bus ride away. The stunning Kaputas beach, a small beach at the bottom of a gorge with turquoise blue water is just a 5 min. drive.
Dalaman is the nearest international airport. Transfer times are approx 1hr 30 mins by car. We will gladly arrange transfers for you but it is easy to hire a car at the airport and drive yourself. Transfers are private and cost approx £60 each way from Dalaman airport. Alternatively, Antalya airport is around 3 hours drive from Kalkan. For this villa renting a car is advisable although you can manage without and rely on the water taxi/road taxis and small local shops.
Some local shops, bars and restaurants are within walking distance of the villa. It is a 3 minutes gentle walk to the sea side and 2 beach clubs. Kalkan offers something to suit all tastes. This elegant harbour town is situated on Turkey’s gorgeous Lycian Coast within an area of outstanding natural beauty which is steeped in ancient history.
