Why Owner chose Thamesmead East
I love the open spaces and leafy surroundings, and how the house backs onto a protected nature reservation, with a nearby pond with nesting Herons. The proximity to London and Kent, "the garden of England" has also been a draw. Travel is convenient whether using a car or public transport. The house was built in about 1989, by Declan Kelly Homes, and is well insulated and warm.

A Great Place to Stay
The owner, Paolo, was incredibly friendly and helpful. There were all kinds of resources left for renters at the suite - bus routes, delivery menus, nearby businesses, etc. Paolo also provided eectrical adaptor/converters which came in handy. The bedrooms were great - full closets with hangers, dressers, night stands, and the beds werecomfortable. The kitchen is amazing and it was so nice having a backyard to enjoy in the evenings. Transit was easily navigated and runs around the clock.
The negatives: water pressure is AWFUL. As three women with long/thick hair, it was impossible to wash the shampoo and conditioner out. Showers look more like a birdbath, and even bathing was difficult as it took 30 mins of continuously running the taps to even get the tub HALF full. This also resulted in laundry taking an incredibly long time to complete. The unit is far removed from any tourist locations, and any locals we spoke to were appalled that we were staying in that area. (That being said, it struck us as mostly snobbery as we never felt unsafe while walking, even at night).
Overall, this is a great place to stay if you're on a budget, and don't need immediate access to central London.

Thank you for reporting the problem you encountered with the reduced water pressure - this is most inconvenient. This was resolved, and the reduced pressure was found to be due one of the two water storage tanks in the loft being out of order due to a forgotten bung left behind following the last service ! If only we had known sooner, I am certain we would have resolved the problem for you.
UPDATE April 2018. We are pleased to inform that the bathroom has been re-renewed with "Bathstore" fittings and tiles, and new booster pump for optimum pressure, as part of a scheduled refurbishment of the house.
Clean and comfortable
We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely house during a family sightseeing visit to London. There was plenty of room for our young family of 5 and the house was clean, well furnished and equipped making our stay both pleasant and comfortable.
A very short walk to the bus and a 5 minute ride to Abbey Wood train station meant we could soon be in the centre of London and its sights.
The owner was very polite and helpful.

Netter Vermieter, für London zu empfehlen. Wohnung in Ordnung und geräumig. Parkplätze vorm. Haus. ruhige sichere Gegend. ca. 20 min mit dem Auto zur UBahn. genügende Parkplätze an der UBahn (gegen Gebühr). Richtung Süd und Süd Ost verkehrsgünstig gelegen.
Aussagen von Paolo bezüglich eines Wasserdruckverstärkers und der Reparatur des 2ten WC waren korrekt.
Unterkunft in Wohngegend
Haus in Wohngegend. Um ins Zentrum von London zu kommen, muss man ca. 40 Minuten mit dem Bus fahren, anschließend 20 Minuten U-Bahn. Man braucht mindestens 1 1/4 Stunden.
Leider nur 1 Toilette nutzbar, Defekt ist Vermieter schon länger bekannt.
In een half uur naar het centrum van Londen
Een ruime (vakantie)woning in een rustige buurt op loopafstand van de Thames met het mooie Thamespad. De eigenaar heeft de woning naar zijn smaak ingericht en daar moet je van houden. Het sanitair werkte door een zeer lage waterdruk niet optimaal. Dus weinig water bij het douchen. Eekhoorns in de achtertuin en een ruime parkeerplaats voor het huis. Een vriendelijke eigenaar die een paar huizen verderop woont.
Maison équipée tout confort exceptée la pression de l'eau lorsque l'on veut prendre une douche ainsi qu'un sèche linge qui ne fonctionne pas. Elle se trouve proche d'un arrêt de bus, dans un quartier calme, il faut compter 1 heure pour se rendre au centre de Londres de la maison par les transports en commun. Nous avons apprécié notre séjour dans cette maison.

Thames Estuary and Kent and seaside within easy reach.
Stansted, Gatwick, Heathrow and London City Airports all within easy reach. Thames Clipper Boat Services depart from Woolwich Arsenal for central London. Car hire is not essential, but recommended for visiting Kent. Bus stop 2-3 minutes away served by N1 and 472 Night Buses. The house is in Transport for London's Zone 4. Adult Zone 1-4 Day Pay as you go cap for buses trains and Underground is £9.80 (peak or off peak) or £49.00 for 7 Days. Concessions for students and under 18s. Fares may vary. Royal Borough of Greenwich and Woolwich Arsenal are within easy reach.
Shopping: Bluewater Shopping Centre is within easy reach. Supermarkets (Sainsburys, Morrisons, Iceland & Aldi) are about five minutes drive away, in Abbey Wood and Thamesmead Town Centre. Londis convenience store is less than a ten minute walk away, in Manor Close.
