Spacious studio apartment sleeping up to 4 people

This bright ground floor studio apartment is located on Northumberland Street in the New Town which is about a 5 minute walk from Princes Street. It is well furnished and equipped. The kitchen includes a built-in combination oven and microwave, an electric stove, a dishwasher and there is a separate utility cupboard housing a washer/dryer. The living area has a wall mounted LCD TV with built in DVD player and there is a real gas fire. The sofa converts into a double bed so it is possible to accommodate 4 people.

Parking may be available on request as we have a garage space a 5 minute walk away. There is an additional charge for this so please ask us about this in advance.

Perfect cosy base for our Edinburgh exploration

This ground floor apartment is perfectly situated for exploring Edinburgh on foot. Fifteen minutes stroll from Princes street, the shops, Waverley station and old town. We also walked from here to Leith in about 35 minutes so it's pretty central wherever you want to go and there are a number of small restaurants and bars nearby to nip to in the evening, as well as a small supermarket three minutes away should you wish, which was really handy.

The apartment itself is cosy and small, with easily room for two without each getting under the other's feet. It has all modern amenities including Wi-Fi and the owner, Francois who met us on our arrival, was extremely helpful, especially with our early arrival time and later departure.

Although we'd seen some of the other reviews about lack of heat and issues with the shower we had none at all. The flat was always warm (outside it was 1 degree or colder) and, once mastered, the shower was hot and constant. The bedroom area, although part of the flat, felt nicely separate from the living area while the bed was very comfortable and ensured a good nights sleep.

Overall, we had a lovely long weekend, and the apartment was the perfect base to walk out from in the morning and come back to in the evening after a long day. Our only, really pernickety, gripe was the lack of a teapot, but i think that says more about our age than the flat itself.

Good value and great location

Nice small apartment in a great location. Only issues I had were the heating isn't great (although it was very cold outside) and the shower has intermittent heat

Owner's Response: Thanks for this. The heating should be fine but if it is particularly cold you should put the gas fire on as well as the electric heater. The fire does produce a lot of heat so after about 15 minutes the room is very warm.

Very nice apartment well located

Had a great time in this comfortable apartment right in historic New Town. Grocery store is nearby. Good size bathroom. Francois was extremely nice and accommodating.

Perfect 'home base' for seeing Scotland!

This flat (and Francois) were absolutely wonderful! Francois was very kind and professional and thorough in explaining how everything worked. (He was also very patient and flexible as our flight was delayed over 6 hours!)

The flat is bright, clean and modern, and included everything we needed for our 8 day stay in Edinburgh. The location was perfect as we were in a very safe and clean part of the city - within walking distance of the 'downtown' tourist area. Bus stops are very close and lots of terrific pubs and restaurants and shops. Sainsbury and Tesco are close for groceries as well.

We hope to return to Scotland again someday and will definitely book this flat again!

Five days in Edinburgh,Scotland

We enjoyed our stay in this apartment very much. It had everything we needed and was an easy walk to both the Old Town and the Botanical Gardens. Francois met us at the door and was very helpful with questions. There are several options for dining in the area and a small grocery within a five min. walk. We would definitly stay here again.
