Villa close to Corralejo Old Town with direct beach access
About Sue Whiteley
I live on the beach at Saunton Sands in N. Devon with my husband. My son, a Financial Consultant lives in the same area and daughter, Sarah, a former British Open Surf Champion, runs Walking on Waves, a surf school on Saunton beach. Oh! yes, and we must not forget to mention Millie, our Labrador, who is our family member that gets most attention.
Sue Whiteley purchased this Villa in 2004
Why Sue Whiteley chose La Oliva
As a family we have always loved the Sea and Beachside properties. The Villa is in one of the best locations anywhere, with a climate fit for holidays 12 months of the year and only a 4 hour flight from the UK. Fuerteventura has some of the best beaches in the world and an informal approach to life. A Canary island 'not yet properly discovered' and long may it remain so. It is our second home which our family use for up to 10 weeks a year and the rest of the time we share with letting guests.
What makes this Villa unique
The front garden gate is direct onto the sand and beach and no more than a 5 minute walk to the centre of Corralejo with countless good Restaurants. But, best of all is the location and it is furnished and equipped as a "home" rather than a holiday let

We spent week here in January 2020. It's a lovely house with everything needed inside, very clean and lots of instructions. Good location right on beach. The owners were very prompt with any queries.
We had two young children with double buggy, as there is no board walk on either side, we had to pull it through sand to get anywhere. This was a bit of a nuncance. The noise from the club next door could be heard every night but we managed to get used to it. The double bed was not very comfortable and no basics like hand soap. These small things matter when you arrive late with young children. Overall it was lovely and clean nice location but we couldn't say we would want to return.
Thank you for your response and input. If am glad you liked the Villa and it’s location.
I accept hat the Villa is directly adjacent to the beach and that it can be difficult dragging a children’s buggy along some parts of the beach, although we see quite a lot of visitors doing just that. This is why we have shown a picture on the website of the beach immediately in front of the Villa from which you can see there is no board walk (although we think the local Council has plans for one at some stage in the future)
We have done as much as we can to ameliorate the noise from the club nearby ( double glazing, shutters, air conditioning etc) but because the Villa is so centrally situated close to all the amenities in the Town there is now a limit to what more we can do.
We are sorry that you found the bed uncomfortable and wonder why that was. We sleep there 8 - 9 weeks a year and have had no previous complaints although we completely understand that each individual has their own taste for which bed suits them best.
We are sorry you will not be returning but appreciate the fair and objective way you have given a balanced report. Over the years about 70% of our guests have be returners.
Kind regards and best wishes
We had a lovely holiday in this villa. The location is exceptional with beautiful views and yet so convenient for everywhere.
Lovely beach villa
We had a lovely holiday at this villa, right on the beach but also in town, great location. Very glad of the air con in the bedrooms as it was hot whilst we were there. Kitchen and bathroom great , good sized bedrooms and outside shower a bonus for removing sand ! We loved it here and will be back next year!
So pleased you enjoyed your holiday and thank you for your comments about the Villa.
You are most welcome to return.
The stay was wonderful from beginning to end. The accommodation was homely and well equipped. The location was perfect for both the beach and the shops and the view was gorgeous. Nothing was too much trouble, including letting us stay for an extra couple of hours while we waited for our transport. We will definitely be back !
Thank you Paul. I am so please you and the family enjoyed the holiday.
Perfect villa on the beach
Lovely villa everything you need, at hand. Perfect location , we have stayed in Corralejo a few times and this villa is in a super location, right on the beach and a short walk to shops and some fantastic restaurants. Would recommend and I’m sure we will return in the future.
Peter & Maggie.
Many thanks Peter for your review. So pleased that you and Maggie enjoyed your stay.
Thank you for your review and we hope you will choose to return one. You are always welcome.
Beach is at 10 metres. Harbour with hourly ferries to Lanzarote is just a 10 minute walk away.
Nearest Airport : Puerto del Rosario at 35 kilometres.
Nearest Ferry : Corralejo at 1 kilometre.
The Villa is situated directly on Galera Beach in Corralejo within 10 mins walk of most of Corralejo's abundant bars and restaurants including those in the Old Town.
Wind surfing, swimming, diving, surfing, snorkeling, tennis, walking, sailing, cycling, fishing, kite boarding and the Dunes Nature Reserve are all very close by. Also a water park for the children (summer only). Slightly further there are many attractions for visitors including a zoo on the south of Fuerteventura and the Timanfaya volcano and lava fields on Lanzarote where you can also visit the outstanding architectural creations of Cesar Manrique. The scenery is spectacular and the beaches best in the Canaries. The world wind surfing championships are held in the south of Fuerteventura in the Autumn. To explore the whole island a hire car is a good idea; you can enjoy the villa without.
