About sara esler
My name is Sara Esler.
sara esler purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why sara esler chose Staithes
We wanted somewhere that was easily accessible to us and offered lots to do for the children as well as ourselves. We love the village, there are so many nooks & crannys, alleyways, paths, steps, hiding places, look outs, climbing & scrabbling spots, activities, walks, sea views, ghost stories, historic tales, rock pools, fossils, fish in the sea & friendly faces...that we never tire of going up there. The North Yorkshire Coast is a beautiful part of England with many beautiful beaches & coastline to visit from Robin Hoods Bay to Saltburn on Sea, and in land from Surfing at Scarborough & Sandsend, the North Yorks Moors Steam Railway, the famous Magpie restaurant & Abbey at Whitby, Castle Howard, Dalby Forest, picturesque Hutton le hole and Riverleux Abbey.
What makes this Cottage unique
Salmon Cottage is a few steps from the sea and right in the heart of Staithes. The cottage is unusual in the village as it has plenty of space and a garden at the back where you can enjoy a BBQ in the summer months. The cottage is easily heated and enjoys a cosy stove to warm up the living room in winter. Please note although the garden is enclosed it is not secure - dogs can v easily escape! The 2 pubs in the village are literally a stones throw from the front door, as well as the Endeavour which serves high quality meals. The butchers shop next door is open every morning mon-sat and sells fresh bread and milk as well as all the usual.

Another lovely stay
This was our second visit to Salmon Cottage and we had another fantastic holiday. There were 4 adults and 3 children and the cottage accommodated us perfectly. Everything about the cottage is lovely and it is so near the beach the children loved it. 8 year old said I had to put it was FANTASTIC!!
Beautiful property in ideal location but could of done with information pack in house to give more details about the house.
Fantastic short break
This property is absolutely gorgeous. There was plenty of room for our 7 person party and our 2 spaniels. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could possibly need.
The nearby Cod and Lobster served an excellent seafood platter and made us very welcome.
Staithes itself is a delightful place with lots to explore. We will definitely be returning.
Plenty of room for the 7 of us.
A real tonic!
We had a great weekend at Salmon Cottage-3 generations plus 2 dogs!
Really cosy and characterful cottage with a great farmhouse style kitchen, comfy lounge and bright, airy bedrooms. Right in the heart of the village .... a few yards from the 2 pubs and the sea - this was a second visit for some of the group and I'm sure we'll be back
So glad you all enjoyed your stay!
Great weekend in lovely cottage
Lovely cottage in a fab location just by the harbour front. Lots of space for the 5 of us and everything provided that we needed. Didn’t need the car all weekend as we enjoyed hunting for fossils, cliff walks to Port Mulgrave and good pub grub all on the doorstep. Will be back
