This is a brand new build in traditional Tuscan style, lovely wooden beams and windows and terracotta flooring throughout. It has been beautifully designed and has the most amazing views from all sides above the spa resort of Bagni Di Lucca and surrounding valleys. The villa has all the modern amenities you would require including a stunning infinity pool with Roman Steps. There is a modern fitted kitchen, a utility room, through lounge with large character fireplace. Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms all with fitted wardrobes. Outside there is plenty of space and the entertaining area will have everything you need (BBQ / Teak Dining Table Chairs & Pergola / Teak Sun Loungers & a full sized table tennis table!) to make it a perfect and relaxing vacation in this beautiful part of Italy. This is a non-smoking villa. A new dining terrace and pergola has been installed in 2018.

We are very happily married British couple who made a decision to buy our future home in a very beautiful location in Tuscany. Those of you that will stay will know immediately why we chose Casa Duetto. It has views all around the house and up to a gorgeous hamlet over looking a famed Spa resort 'Bagni di Lucca'. We have owned the property a number of years and have now added a infinity pool that will equal any in Tuscany. We want to create a home from home for our friends, family and guests and we want you to treat the property with love and respect as you would your own, we even encourage watering of plants whilst you are there if you find the time! We have traveled all around the world and we have not found anywhere that compares with our little spot in Tuscany. Enjoy!
Chris purchased this Villa in 2008
Why Chris chose Bagni di Lucca
Fell in love with the local area and the people having spent a weekend in Benabbio across the valley. It is remote yet also within easy traveling distance of wonderful Lucca and Florence as well as a historical natural thermal spa resort at the bottom of the hill.
What makes this Villa unique
Breathtaking views, fresh air, quietness and good old mother nature. There are wild deer on the hillside that we have seen on a regular basis but yet to see any wild boar! Fire flies also if you are lucky!

The perfect escape
We had the most incredible stay at Casa Duetto. The house itself was a much needed escape from it all for us, and we loved the tranquillity, the stunning views, and all the amenities that Casa Duetto has to offer.
We had read a number of reviews before coming here, so knew to expect an adventurous drive up/down to the house, but I don't think anyone can be fully prepared for the challenge! However we looked forward to our return to the house each day after a day of sightseeing/exploring, desperate for a swim, a relax by the pool, and just to sit and admire the surrounding landscape. It is impossible to tire of the views as the colours of the mountains, settlements of houses and trees change colour and are accentuated in different places as the sun moves around. It is fascinating to witness.
We were extremely impressed with the homely touches at the property - for example the décor and comfort, the excellent CD and DVD collection, the wine fridge, and the outdoor space, which is exceptional.
We were extremely sad to leave this beautiful home, situated in such a perfect location, and highly recommend it. A holiday here provides you with the best of both worlds - a chance to escape a hectic life, far from the crowds, but located in easy driving distance (or close to good train routes) to the must-see tourist towns and cities.
Highlights of our week included: a drive through the countryside into central Tuscany; walking through fields of sunflowers; visiting San Gimignano; a day in Lucca (we highly recommend hiring bikes whilst there, as the cycle around the city walls is a must); several meals at Il Biribisso in Granaiola (minutes from the property), where the food and service are excellent; walking around Barga, which was pleasantly sleepy and quiet; and of course time spent in Florence and Pisa.
This property really is a gem, and we feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to stay here.
Ian many thanks again for your kind words and we are delighted that you both selected our Villa and had such a great experience. It would be great to see you and your family again and we will be doing further upgrades and improvements in the near future to add to your enjoyment
Best regards, Chris and Cindy
Stunning location. Comfortable well equipped villa.
If you want a villa with stunning views of the Tuscan hills, beautiful sunrises and sunsets and conveniently located to some of Tuscanys many memorable sights then this is it.
The villa is in a private location. Not overlooked and very quiet. The small village of Bagni de Lucca can be seen from the pool terrace but is far below in the bottom of the valley.
The villa itself is clean comfortable with a well equipped kitchen.
Bedrooms are comfortable with basic amenities and fans are available as well as a hairdryer.
Both bathrooms have a shower , toilet and sink. There is an outside toilet as well and a shower by the pool.
There is an outside covered seating area and table for eating al fresco. The shade is very welcome as the pool terrace is in full sun most of the day. The bbq is set back from the pool to the side of the kitchen area.
There is a washer/dryer and the owners had provided washing powder and also dishwasher tablets and cleaning products
The drive to the villa off the main road is a bit challenging some of the road is very uneven and potholes have to be negotiated but the villas driveway is fine.
There is a local Co op in the next village approx 10 mins drive from the villa which stocks most things you would need. A bigger supermarket is about a 25 minute drive away.
There is a very good restaurant 5 minutes drive up the hill from the villa. Il Birribiso. It gets very good reviews. We ate twice there and both meals were excellent.
Midges are a problem. Bring plenty of insect repellent. The villa does have insect screens at all windows so you can leave windows open at night.
The pool has uninterrupted views of the hills and valley below. It's a good size with steps down into the pool. It's not heated but when temperatures are high the coolness is very welcome.
There is a covered area to park a car under for shade.
The villa management is easily contactable and respond very quickly to any query.
Spectacular place to stay with gorgeous views from the beautiful pool.
The house was a bit of a adventure to find when you consider it was our first time there and it was dark. Even so, we found it uneventfully and discovered a simple, well kept two story house. When we woke up the next day and looked out the windows, we were greeted with glorious views the pictures online simply did not do justice - spectacular, breath-taking and unforgettable. The area was affected by a water outage during our stay, but Chris and his team were immediately responsive and demonstrated excellent communication while the utilities people swiftly fixed the problem. The location was an easy drive from Florence and served as a nice home base for day trips to explore the region. I definitely plan to visit this specific property again!
Thank you Steve and you and your family would be welcome back anytime hope the rest of your European travels have gone well
Apologies re water outage the impacted all properties in this part of Tuscany and was a result of mains failure but pleased it was resolved quickly

Fabulously equipped and very comfortable.
We loved our very brief stay at Casa Duetto. Fabulous house with everything you will need. The view was breathtaking, looking down onto the village of Bagni de Lucca, by day and by night. We loved the sound of the bells that seem to ring throughout the hills at all times of the day. Don't be put off by mention of the approach to the house, you soon get the hang of it and we had a pretty large car. The restaurant mentioned in previous reviews is a must visit. You wonder how it can be successful being so far from anywhere, but the food is fabulous and its reputation must have spread. We arrived there without a booking, late on a Sunday lunch time and they accommodated us graciously. Fabulous steaks! They have Pizza in the evenings, but our stay wasn't long enough to try them, more's the pity. If you're arriving by car from the direction of Lucca, it's a good idea to take the advice given and stop by the supermarket; Esselunga to stock up. It's probably about half an hour from there to the house.
Thank you for letting us stay Chris and thanks for great communication throughout.
Moira thank you thank you for your kind words and would love to see you back one day for a little bit of a longer vacation! Chris and Cindy
Property with a spectacular view!
We stayed at this property for 5 days in July with our three children ages 10, 13, 15. The view from this property is spectacular, and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool, the ping-pong table, and the house. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. From this location we enjoyed a day trip to the beach and biking in Lucca. Overall and excellent property.
Leita thank you so much for your review and we are delighted that you had a great time in this part of Italy. You and your family are welcome back at anytime!!
Best regards, Chris and Cindy
Perfect hillside villa with amazing views
We very much enjoyed our stay in this property. Everything inside and outside is clean and of high quality (and properly maintained), and the views really are as breathtaking as described.
The villa is completely private, secluded and not at all overlooked, and situated up a hill, though only about a 15 minute drive from Bagni di Lucca, where there are restaurants, bars, a supermarket, small shops and a train station. We were only there for three days, and managed without a car, relying on a local taxi driver (we have entered his details in the guest book). Much longer, and a car would probably be advisable.
Chris (the owner) was very helpful in advance in terms of sending guides to the area and a restaurant recommendation, and very flexible on our last day when our driver let us down. Even though he is based in Hong Kong, he responded to emails within a couple of hours.
If you do travel into Bagni di Lucca, we would definitely recommend this restaurant: http://www.ristorantedelsonno.it/ - excellent, but reasonably food, and an extensive menu, with friendly staff.
We would absolutely return to this villa, and would be more than happy to strongly recommend it to anyone.
James thank you so much for your lovely review and you and your family/friends would be welcome back anytime!!
Best regards, Chris and Cindy
Special interest holidays:
The local area is perfect for a walking holiday, mountain biking, horse riding, also the cultural centres of Lucca and Bagni Di Lucca offers many more activities for relaxation. The whole summer is full of the most amazing festivals (Lucca music festival in July/August as many international stars). Shelly and Keats chose this part of Italy!
The grand beach resorts at Viareggio are 1 hours drive to the east. The beaches are flat sand for sunbathing and fully provided with tourist services and upmarket shopping.
Pisa and Florence 1-1.5 hour by car. Bologna 3.5 hours by car.
Milan 4.5 hours by car. Many discount airlines fly into the local airports and car hire is recommend to explore the wonders of Tuscany and the many summer festivals and events.
Granaiola 15 min walk.
Bagni di Lucca 5 min drive.
Lucca - 24km (25 min drive/train).
Pisa 48km (45 min drive/train)
Florence 98km (90 min drive/train).
Coast 55km (60 min drive).
Abetone 40km (45 min drive).
There is a small restaurant (our guests rave about the food and people here) in Granaiola which is walking distance and a short drive away is Bagni di Lucca which has everything else that you would need: Chemist, banks, small supermarket, numerous restaurants even a large outside swimming lido if you tire of having your own private pool on the doorstep! Bagni di Lucca is situated along the river Lima. There have been thermal baths here since Roman times and the very first Casino in Europe was built here. Many famous English poets such as Shelley, Keats and Byron had connections with Bagni di Lucca and the region. The historic and festival Town of Barga is 20 mins drive, while the walled City of Lucca is 35 minutes drive.
