This is a brand new build in traditional Tuscan style, lovely wooden beams and windows and terracotta flooring throughout. It has been beautifully designed and has the most amazing views from all sides above the spa resort of Bagni Di Lucca and surrounding valleys. The villa has all the modern amenities you would require including a stunning infinity pool with Roman Steps. There is a modern fitted kitchen, a utility room, through lounge with large character fireplace. Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms all with fitted wardrobes. Outside there is plenty of space and the entertaining area will have everything you need (BBQ / Teak Dining Table Chairs & Pergola / Teak Sun Loungers & a full sized table tennis table!) to make it a perfect and relaxing vacation in this beautiful part of Italy. This is a non-smoking villa. A new dining terrace and pergola has been installed in 2018.

We are very happily married British couple who made a decision to buy our future home in a very beautiful location in Tuscany. Those of you that will stay will know immediately why we chose Casa Duetto. It has views all around the house and up to a gorgeous hamlet over looking a famed Spa resort 'Bagni di Lucca'. We have owned the property a number of years and have now added a infinity pool that will equal any in Tuscany. We want to create a home from home for our friends, family and guests and we want you to treat the property with love and respect as you would your own, we even encourage watering of plants whilst you are there if you find the time! We have traveled all around the world and we have not found anywhere that compares with our little spot in Tuscany. Enjoy!
Chris purchased this Villa in 2008
Why Chris chose Bagni di Lucca
Fell in love with the local area and the people having spent a weekend in Benabbio across the valley. It is remote yet also within easy traveling distance of wonderful Lucca and Florence as well as a historical natural thermal spa resort at the bottom of the hill.
What makes this Villa unique
Breathtaking views, fresh air, quietness and good old mother nature. There are wild deer on the hillside that we have seen on a regular basis but yet to see any wild boar! Fire flies also if you are lucky!

Perfect hillside villa with amazing views
We very much enjoyed our stay in this property. Everything inside and outside is clean and of high quality (and properly maintained), and the views really are as breathtaking as described.
The villa is completely private, secluded and not at all overlooked, and situated up a hill, though only about a 15 minute drive from Bagni di Lucca, where there are restaurants, bars, a supermarket, small shops and a train station. We were only there for three days, and managed without a car, relying on a local taxi driver (we have entered his details in the guest book). Much longer, and a car would probably be advisable.
Chris (the owner) was very helpful in advance in terms of sending guides to the area and a restaurant recommendation, and very flexible on our last day when our driver let us down. Even though he is based in Hong Kong, he responded to emails within a couple of hours.
If you do travel into Bagni di Lucca, we would definitely recommend this restaurant: http://www.ristorantedelsonno.it/ - excellent, but reasonably food, and an extensive menu, with friendly staff.
We would absolutely return to this villa, and would be more than happy to strongly recommend it to anyone.
James thank you so much for your lovely review and you and your family/friends would be welcome back anytime!!
Best regards, Chris and Cindy
Fabulously equipped and very comfortable.
We loved our very brief stay at Casa Duetto. Fabulous house with everything you will need. The view was breathtaking, looking down onto the village of Bagni de Lucca, by day and by night. We loved the sound of the bells that seem to ring throughout the hills at all times of the day. Don't be put off by mention of the approach to the house, you soon get the hang of it and we had a pretty large car. The restaurant mentioned in previous reviews is a must visit. You wonder how it can be successful being so far from anywhere, but the food is fabulous and its reputation must have spread. We arrived there without a booking, late on a Sunday lunch time and they accommodated us graciously. Fabulous steaks! They have Pizza in the evenings, but our stay wasn't long enough to try them, more's the pity. If you're arriving by car from the direction of Lucca, it's a good idea to take the advice given and stop by the supermarket; Esselunga to stock up. It's probably about half an hour from there to the house.
Thank you for letting us stay Chris and thanks for great communication throughout.
Moira thank you thank you for your kind words and would love to see you back one day for a little bit of a longer vacation! Chris and Cindy
Property with a spectacular view!
We stayed at this property for 5 days in July with our three children ages 10, 13, 15. The view from this property is spectacular, and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool, the ping-pong table, and the house. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. From this location we enjoyed a day trip to the beach and biking in Lucca. Overall and excellent property.
Leita thank you so much for your review and we are delighted that you had a great time in this part of Italy. You and your family are welcome back at anytime!!
Best regards, Chris and Cindy
For a quiet and beautiful location, this is your place
What a fantastic view this villa enjoys. The villa is modern and well equipped and our children loved the pool. You need to be prepared to drive in the evenings if looking for a meal out, although there is one restaurant up the hill, about 15mins walk if you're prepared to navigate the steep and windy track & road. A totally relaxing getaway
Kirsten we are delighted that you had a great time and enjoyed the Villa. If you or your family ever wish to return we offer a 15% discount for returning happy and satisfied guests!
Best regards, Chris and Cindy
Amazing views, great pool
Superb place to stay for a chilled out holiday. The pool is incredible and backed up by stunning views. A hair raising drive down the track to the house only adds to the sense of getting away and getting ready to chill out by the pool.
Easy access to Lucca and loads of small villages in the mountains. We even found a cute little "bar" 5 mins drive up the hill near the refugio with a very relaxed feel, but great coffee.
We braved a walk down the footpath to the village, but it's quite rustic!
Definitely recommend this villa! The owner is very helpful and the agent was great too.
Joe we are delighted that you and the family had such a good time and all the very best with the new arrival in January. We would love to see you back in the future. Our very best wishes, Chris and Cindy
Secluded, great vista
Lovely setting, whole outside is directed towards the views which you don't ever tire of. Pool is great although mosquitos were very annoying, even those amongst our party who don't normally get bothered ended up with bites. Apart from that very small fact, this is a great property, perfectly situated to explore further afield: park at the station & take the train to Lucca. Either stay to explore or go onto Florence - adorable city - or Pisa, not so adorable but still worth a visit to the iconic tower. Through the management company that Chris put us in contact with, we arranged for a chef to come in & cook a typical Italian meal for my big birthday celebration. Fantastic both experience & the meal, which typically was way too much for us. The kind ladies left us the 'leftovers' which we enjoyed the following day. We also went on a wine tasting tour with Lucca wine treasures - best experience of the whole trip - even someone who doesn't actually like wine thought it was a great trip. For those who do like wine, can thoroughly recommend them. We flew into Bologna rather than Pisa; whilst longer, in mid August was nearly half the price & the flight times were better too. Nice airport!
Many thanks for the great review and sorry that the mossies were annoying we have never had previous complaints and suspect that due to the wet hot weather this year they came out in force!. Would love to have you back anytime!
Special interest holidays:
The local area is perfect for a walking holiday, mountain biking, horse riding, also the cultural centres of Lucca and Bagni Di Lucca offers many more activities for relaxation. The whole summer is full of the most amazing festivals (Lucca music festival in July/August as many international stars). Shelly and Keats chose this part of Italy!
The grand beach resorts at Viareggio are 1 hours drive to the east. The beaches are flat sand for sunbathing and fully provided with tourist services and upmarket shopping.
Pisa and Florence 1-1.5 hour by car. Bologna 3.5 hours by car.
Milan 4.5 hours by car. Many discount airlines fly into the local airports and car hire is recommend to explore the wonders of Tuscany and the many summer festivals and events.
Granaiola 15 min walk.
Bagni di Lucca 5 min drive.
Lucca - 24km (25 min drive/train).
Pisa 48km (45 min drive/train)
Florence 98km (90 min drive/train).
Coast 55km (60 min drive).
Abetone 40km (45 min drive).
There is a small restaurant (our guests rave about the food and people here) in Granaiola which is walking distance and a short drive away is Bagni di Lucca which has everything else that you would need: Chemist, banks, small supermarket, numerous restaurants even a large outside swimming lido if you tire of having your own private pool on the doorstep! Bagni di Lucca is situated along the river Lima. There have been thermal baths here since Roman times and the very first Casino in Europe was built here. Many famous English poets such as Shelley, Keats and Byron had connections with Bagni di Lucca and the region. The historic and festival Town of Barga is 20 mins drive, while the walled City of Lucca is 35 minutes drive.
We can also offer special services upon request to make your stay extra special please let us know in advance and we will do what we can to accommodate your request.
