Ski Apartment in Bansko Royal Towers, Bansko, Pirin Mountains, Bulgaria - Fantastic Location, Just 150 yards from the Gondola

Location is key to any successful ski holiday and you can't get much closer to the gondola than the Bansko Royal Towers. The modern, very spacious (72m2) one bedroom apartment is tastefully furnished to a very high standard and is equipped with everything you need to make your holiday a comfortable stay. The large private balcony gives you breathtaking views of the Pirin mountains and extensive ski runs. You can ski from the top of the mountain all the way back to the footbridge outside the apartment - practically door to door skiing! - then leave your skis at the Rossignol ski shop below the apartment and enjoy some apres ski in the Happy End bar situated next to the Gondola. There are several shops within the development incl. a bank with ATM, mini market, Rossignol ski hire shop. The on-site facilities and price, make this an ideal, exceptional value ski holiday.

We live in York, England and have 3 children - Oliver aged 13, Amelia aged 17 and Will aged 21. We love skiing and after visiting Bansko a few years ago we decided that it was such a lovely family ski resort that we would like to buy an apartment there. We usually manage to ski in Bansko at least once a season as it's such a safe, friendly experience without the hassle and excessive cost associated with other European resorts. We also love to visit Bankso in the summer when we go mountain biking and go walking in the beautiful Pirin mountains.

Why Sue Hannon chose Bansko

We chose to buy a property in Bansko after visiting the resort a few years ago and falling in love with it. We soon realised that this resort was moving very fast into becoming one of the best ski resorts in Europe. It offered value for money whilst providing excellent brand new modern lift facilities and well designed and managed pistes. The Bulgarians are investing heavily year after year in making Bansko an excellent family ski resort. We also loved the contrast between the modern ski area and the very quaint old town of Bansko with its cobbled streets and churches, you really feel like you are stepping back in time when you take the short walk to the town square.

What makes this apartment unique

The Bansko Royal Towers was our first choice of apartments to buy primarily due to its great location to the ski slopes. You can practically ski door to door. With all the other facilities that the complex offers we feel it makes for a fantastic holiday. We also enjoy the short walk into the old town of Bansko and eating at one of the many Mehanas, prices in Bansko are very reasonable and we feel there is no better value holiday in any other of Europe's ski resorts. Every year there are more and more quality bars and restaurants set up and the majority are within a 5 minute walk of the apartment.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment is very well positioned overlooking the gondola station and ski runs with fantastic mountain views. It is serviced by a lift and is suitable for children. Smoking and pets are not permitted. Outside: The complex has a mini market for groceries and drinks. There is a creche situated in the large shopping mall next door to the Bankso Royal Towers. The shopping mall includes shops selling, clothes, Jewelery,ski wear, supermarket, homewear, there is even a cocktail bar and restaurant on the top floor with lovely views over Bansko town and the mountains. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included. Property cleaned before the arrival of each guest and on departure. For all two week stays there is an optional mid stay clean and linen/towel change for a small fee. Other: Very spacious entrance hall with plenty of storage, mirror and coat hooks, and double doors opening into open plan kitchen/lounge creating a very light and modern area. There is space to store boots/skis. Table & chairs on the balcony.

Fantastic apartment and great position

We had an absolutely fantastic stay here. The apartmentent was fab, spacious and well equipped.

The position was brilliant, close to the gondola station, and nearby to the town for a full variety of restaurants and amenities. Great managagement team on standby in case we had any problems too.

Best location

This is our second stay at Sue and Rogers apartment. As with last year it is the perfect location and the apartment has everything you need for a holiday. Communications are excellent and everyone involved very helpful.

The only thing to note is that the gym in the complex has closed but there is a spa available to the apartment in the next complex free of charge.

Absoloutely perfect for our needs.

Thank you so much for a great stay in this perfect apartment. We found it to be very well equipped and exactly as described prior to booking. It was very comfortable for our family; being warm and cosy, especially when returning from a full day on the slopes.

The situation of the apartment was great and this made our stay easy with access to all that we needed, including good restaurants.

The arrival was very smooth and we were greeted by the management personnel who helped us with all we needed.

We would definitely recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Bansko with excellent access to the gondola.

Overall a lovely place to stay, if I could add anything it would be nice to have a drying room for the gear rather than trying to hang or position wet gear near to the heaters without causing a fire hazard. But we coped and it did not spoil anything. Thank you for the opportunity and would gladly stay there again and may well do.

We have just returned from Bansko and stayed in this apartment. This is our third trip to Bansko and have stayed in various apartments in Bansko Royal Towers and this is one of the nicest we have seen.

Really good sized and well equipped apartment in an excellent location. Restaurants, supermarkets, ski rental and gondola all very close.

Would highly recommend it.

Special interest holidays:

Mountain biking is becoming ever more popular year on year thanks to a dedicated group of MTB Expats who are carefully mapping and grading trails and downhill runs throughout the region and local area.

Good quality full suspension bikes can easily be hired, contact us for information on costs etc. The owner, Roger, and son Will tried some of the marked downhill routes on hired full suspension MTB in 2014 - best downhill ever ridden!

Will is part of the Newcastle University Cycle Club.


Looking on a map, our apartment is a very long way from a beach but it does have a lovely heated indoor pool and a heated outdoor pool for summer use.

When we use the apartment in Summer, we usually take a few days out and drive down to Kavala in Greece for a few days by the sea. Its only a 2.5 hour drive.


The main airport servicing Bansko is at Sofia International, a 2 hour transfer from Bansko. Flights are available from the UK with the following Airlines:

Easyjet - Gatwick, Stansted & Manchester,

Wizz Air from Luton,

BA from Heathrowe & Glasgow,

FlyBe from East Midlands,

Bulgaria Air from Heathrowe.


Sofia Airport is 95 miles.

Plovdiv Airport is 80 miles.

Thessaloniki Airport is 120 miles.

2 hour transfers from the airports can be arranged with English speaking drivers or you can pick up a hire car and drive to Bansko. It's a pretty straight forward drive and Sat Navs are now available for Bulgaria to assist.

Further Details:

You will be met on arrival buy our English speaking representative who will show you to your apartment and answer any questions you may have. The apartment is a 10 minute walk down into Bansko Old Town where you will find plenty of traditional Bulgarian Mehanas where you can eat and drink with the locals. The best and liveliest apres ski bar is the Happy End bar near the gondola station which has live music on weekend nights. The Pirin mountains have a range of mountain bike trails that are being developed for summer use.
