Surrounded by farmland, the property has a 4 x 11m salt water swimming pool and is set amidst 2 hectares of glorious, mature English-style gardens which include rare peonies, roses and magnolias. It is paradise for wild life with frogs, geckos, nightingales, hoopoes, goldfinches and at least 18 types of butterfly. Set 300m along a private road, about 15 mins walk from lively local village, this magnificent late C18th building has recently been completely refurbished in a mix of modern and traditional styles to the most exacting and comfortable of standards. There is a huge terrace overlooking the pool and a separate outside kitchen with fire pits, pizza oven and area for eating as well as plenty of open spaces for ball games.

Why katie chose Verteillac
If you are looking for a traditional French farmhouse then this is not the property for you. This venue has an unusual layout with an adjoining black-lined, salt-water swimming pool. With large, light filled internal areas, and various garden "rooms", it would suit those larger holiday groups where individuals want to be able to find beautiful, quiet spaces to themselves from time to time. It is fully centrally heated over the Christmas period.
What makes this Barn unique
This is a very unusual property, recently reviewed in the Italian Architectural Digest and Sunday Times Living Magazine. It is very quiet, has wonderful light, a huge terrace and views across the valley, but is still only a 15 min walk from the nearest busy village with all amenities.

It was all that we expected. Wonderful stay.
The house is beautiful - plenty of space for a large group to have both together time and also their own space. Outdoor areas are fantastic and beds super comfy! Only one thing lacking and that is wardrobes if you wanted to put things away. Overall highly recommended.
Many thanks, Natalie, for that great review! We enjoyed having you here and have noted the lack of wardrobe space and will get it sorted. Hope you enjoyed the remainder of your holiday.
Perfect property for our family holiday.
Amazing space of the house led to us having the best family holiday ever for 9 adults and three young children.
The outdoor areas are equally fantastic, the pool, Japanese garden with pizza oven was greatly appreciated and we would love to come back and see our host Katie again.
Such lovely comments from a lovely family group. They were a joy to have in our property, miraculously leaving everything much as they found it. We very much hope to meet them all again in the future!
Beautiful, spacious villa in a peaceful setting.
We had a lovely time in Katie's beautifully converted villa. So much space for relaxing and the kids to roam free at the table tennis out building or down by the pool. A very high standard of accommodation and the attention to detail and quality of design really goes to show that being surrounded by good architecture make you feel good too. We'll be back!
Thank you, Chog. We loved meeting you all and were thrilled you enjoyed the property so much! It was like having our favourite neighbours just up the hill. Til next time!......
