About Alison MacPherson
We bought Bay House in 2007 having had many fantastic holidays in the area. When my husband and I first met we had many happy times playing golf, windsurfing and surfing nearby. When our children were very young we continued to come to this area for the variety of great beaches and places to visit. We chose Bay House as we wanted to be within a minute’s stroll of a great beach with a relaxed village atmosphere. We loved it as soon as we walked in & always spend at least three weeks a year here and make sure that it is always in first class condition. Many of our guests come back year after year and enjoy the house as much as we do. We hope you enjoy it too.

Great property, great location.
Not our first stay here. Always clean and well equipped and the location is perfect.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review, so pleased you emjoyed your stay at Bay House once again. Alison
Good, comfortable home right near the beach
Stayed here for 2 weeks in Oct 18 (during Storm Callum!) Good, very clean & comfortable, very short walk to beach. Good levels of equipment. Some (minor) things could perhaps do with updating (e.g., as mentioned by another reviewer the dials on the cooker have worn away, but its easy enough to work out, and it still works fine). Shower facia was broken when we arrived - it all still worked though. Alison was very prompt in responding & a plumber had checked it over and a new part was on order. a blind in the main bedroom would also be useful - the current ones are nice, but do let in a lot of light. Overall, a very comfortable place, excellent location, good parking & a very good price.
Cosy little house by the beach in a perfect location
I am a returning customer to this property. I always feel very safe here and have stayed on my own and with my partner/family. Bay House is kept clean and has everything I need. The location is perfect to the beach and for sightseeing . I like peace and quiet and it offers that too. It feels like home and is very comfortable.
Many thanks Collette, so pleased you enjoyed your stay again. Alison
60 seconds walk from Trevone Beach 5 min drive to Padstow
If you want a 2 bed property that is a short walk to Trevone beach and a short drive or coastal walk to Padstow this place is perfect. The house had everything you need for a stay. No negatives.
All the essentials needed for a great holiday by the sea.
Comfortable for 4, but copes with 6 for a short duration.
Great location in a beautiful village.
So pleased you had such a good holiday.
Excellent location - property needs a bit of work to make it perfect.
The property is in an ideal location, very close to the beach. It is well laid out, well equipped and very clean.
It would be ideal if a few little niggles were addressed :
The master bedroom only has white vertical blinds which don't block out any light.
The second bedroom doesn't have enough storage.
The hot water tap doesn't work in the bathroom and the shower screen doesn't fit so water leaks onto the floor every time someone takes a shower.
The temperature knob is missing on the oven and the grill / oven dial has had all the indication cleaned away so it is a mixture of guesswork and a faded hand written instruction guide to work the oven correctly.
This property was cheaper than comparable ones so these minor issues have been reflected in the price. Given it was a holiday though, we wouldn't stay again unless they were fixed as we value a bit more sleep and the other issues did affect the quality of the holiday as the week passed.
We did leave a note for the owner as the manual requested we advise of any things that needed repairing.
2 minute walk to sandy Trevone Beach patrolled by lifeguards from May - September to ensure a safe bathing environment (no dogs allowed on beach from Easter to October). 5-10 minute walk to Rocky Beach with semi natural swimming pool. Using the coastal path (or car) you visit 6 other nearby unspoilt but varied beaches at Harlyn Bay, Mother ivey's Bay, Constantine Bay, Booby's, Treyarnoon and Porthcothan. Fistral Beach Newquay (14m) and Watergate Bay (10m) are world famous for surfing and Daymar (14m) is great for windsurfing.
Newquay airport (approx 14 miles). Bodmin Parkway mainline rail station (approx 20 miles). Local bus service to Padstow and Newquay. For a beach orientated holiday you will not need a car once you get to Bay House. However, many of the attractions of the area are only accessible by car.
