Villa in Kalkan, Mediterranean Region, Turkey - Peaceful Hillside Location
About Caroline Ward
Villa Turkuaz is owned by Caroline and Phil who live in Nottingham in the UK. We came across the villa during its construction in 2003 when visiting Kalkan for our very first time. Since then we have experienced many wonderful times here and still pinch ourselves when we arrive at the villa and see those incredible views again! We love our holidays in Kalkan and we strive to ensure that the Villa Turkuaz is presented at it's very best to ensure that you have a wonderful holiday too. We have a friendly, professional and dedicated English speaking management team to ensure that the villa is kept spotlessly clean and maintained perfectly for you during your stay.

Why Caroline Ward chose Kalkan
We came to the area on holiday and immediately fell in love with Kalkan and the beautiful and unspoilt countryside and beaches close by. When we first saw the villa, with its amazing sea and mountain views, we knew we had found something very special. What we love most is the beauty of the area around the villa and the relaxed and laid back atmosphere of Kalkan. For us there is no better place to unwind and recharge the batteries.
What makes this Villa unique
The location of the villa is just perfect. It is situated on the hillside with a scattering of other villas. There is no busy traffic here, just peace and tranquility and those incredibly stunning views. You can watch the goats and chickens graze in the field below and wave to the friendly locals as they pass by. A short downhill walk takes you to a mini market for all your basics. Also close by, is Akbel village, with restaurants, a supermarket and a small bakery for that delicious fresh Turkish bread! The villa is airy, light and spacious with all rooms having great views of the sea and mountains. You are close to Kalkan with the added benefit of being in a private location surrounded by the most amazing scenery - perfect for a wonderful relaxing holiday. Important: Please note the Kalkan area is hilly and roads, including those leading up to the villa are steep in places. Please let us know if there are mobility issues within your party when enquiring.

Wonderful villa with fantastic views over Kalkan
The villa is just how described with fantastic views over Kalkan Bay. The outside areas offered everything we wanted including plenty of shade which in Kalkan provides welcome relief from the summer heat. Every minute of our stay was wonderful, from the pool man who comes early everyday to make sure the outside area is spotless, the maid service who come when you are out, to the peace of just looking out at the fantastic view from the pool and veranda. There is so much to offer, from water sports to beaches, a wonderful array of cocktail bars and restaurants, offering the best of food. Kalkan is just perfect and is our favourite place it takes your breath away. We had such a special time here, we will definitely return.
Nick, Michelle, Lucy & Matthew, Thank you for the great review and your very kind comments. We are so pleased that you choose the Villa Turkuaz for your first visit to Turkey and that you all enjoyed such a wonderful holiday in Kalkan.
Fantastic location and lovely unspoilt town
We had a wonderful time at Villa Turkuaz and would recommend a stay here to anyone without hesitation, the pictures don't actually prepare you for the spectacular views which are even better when you arrive for the first time. The location is at the end of the road up the hill and so makes for a very peaceful and quiet position with no through traffic, and the locals that we did see were all very friendly as was everyone in town we met without exception, we think the Turkish people are the friendliest we have ever met on our travels. Access up the hill via the narrow roads is a bit tricky to say the least...but its more than worth the effort once you have mastered the run up if you are driving yourself! Kalkan is a delightful and still thankfully uncommercialised town with no big hotel chains, and the old town is very pretty with many good bars and restaurants, we never found a bad one. Would only comment that perhaps a few facilities at the Villa could do with updating, getting the hot water running was a little frustrating at times and quicker to boil the kettle for the kitchen sink! But the pros far outweighed the few cons for us at the Villa which we would happily return to again some day even exactly as it is, and the advance information and assistance we received from the owners Phil and Caroline was exceptional and made our arrival and stay very easy. Would have rated our stay 4.5 if the feedback choice was available instead of 4, but honestly we think anyone opting to go here for a holiday would never end up disappointed, we are so glad we chose this for our holiday this year.
Michael, Thank you for your kind comments and feedback. We are so pleased that you had a wonderful holiday at the Villa Turkuaz.
A modern, well equipped villa with amazing views of Kalkan town and bay.
A well maintained villa, equipped with all you need for an unforgettable holiday. The villa in the small village of Akbel commands impressive views across the old town and bay. Being high up allows you to take advantage of the breeze which you don't often get lower down in the town. It is a 30 minute walk into town down at times very steep roads although a taxi will only cost about £4.
The village centre is a 10 minute walk away where you can get fresh bread and fruit plus other supplies.
The villagers are very friendly with several offering us lifts into town.
Having been to Kalkan several times over the last few years it is great to report it remains largely unchanged with a wide variety of restaurants and bars to enjoy.
Roger, Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you had an unforgettable holiday at the Villa Turkuaz and enjoyed the wonderful views from its lovely hillside location.
Couldn't fault a thing, loved everything about it.
On arriving we were a bit shocked at high high up we were as it was very steep. This didn't spoil anything for us though as we got to know taxi driver and we just sent him a text to pick us up at a very reasonable price. Views are absolutely stunning and the villa was just perfect. This was our first time in Kalkan and we will definitely return. Overall a fantastic holiday and we are sad to be leaving.

Great villa, great holiday!
We really enjoyed our recent holiday at Villa Turquaz. We first visited a while ago and enjoyed it so much we decided to return. The sun terrace is fantastic with a lovely pool and just the best view of Kalkan Bay. The Villa itself is comfortable and well equipped...all you need for a great break.
