Charming village house with courtyard and terrace recently renovated by local craftsmen in the Andalucian style. Perfect location for birdwatching, griffon vultures and eagles to be seen from the terrace. Access to semi private pool 2/3 mins. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. The first bedroom with two single beds is off the inner courtyard on the ground floor with its own bathroom. The second one on the first floor has two large single beds and its own bathroom with shower and bath.The third bedroom on the top floor has a king size bed also with its own bathroom . There are sliding doors opening on to a terraced area with magnificent views over the olive grove to the range of mountains.The main entrance leads on to a spacious living area with a wood burning stove and electric radiators, an archway separating the dining area and the fully equipped kitchen. Located in a central position in the village,avoiding the steep climbs in the higher areas but at the same time affording wonderful views over the mountains. The area is fabulous for bird watching, cycling, walking, horse riding and golf.

About Michael Turner
Based in England in glorious rural Suffolk, Lynda is an early years teacher and with Michael ran their own furniture restoring business. We first visited Andalucia in 2004 and fell in love with the beautiful scenery and the Spanish way of living. We were drawn to the vibrant community feel of Montejaque, the amazing opportunities for walking close by and the village's proximity to the beautiful towns of Ronda and Seville. In 2005 we bought this traditional Spanish village house and worked closely with reputable local craftsmen to transform it to its present state. We spend several months of the year in Montejaque and the remainder in our home in rural Suffolk or wherever in the world our three children happen to be at the time. We love to travel and meet new people and in recent years have visited Sri Lanka, China and India. If you have any questions about the area then please do not hesitate to give us a call. Wonderful holiday in a beautiful house
We had a great time in beautiful Montejaque. The property is right in the centre of the village, just around the corner from the main square. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, but the highlight for me were the two lovely terraces which caught the afternoon and evening sun with spectacular views over the national park. The wood burning stove was also excellent on cooler evenings. The rooms are all beautifully decorated in the local style and were exceptionally clean. The top bedroom is particularly delightful with its large window view across the mountains.
The village of Montejaque must be one of the most beautiful in Spain. We really enjoyed the pace of life amidst such spectacular scenery. You can't go far wrong wondering around the streets, stopping for coffee in the local cafes. The pool is also less than five minutes away if that all gets a bit much. And there are lots of good day trips too; we particularly enjoyed swimming at the Cueva del Gato and the picturesque train ride into Ronda.

Stayed in this cottage for 5 nights. Very comfortable and spacious. Nice sun terrace. Nice and cool inside. Very quiet and peaceful. Great to be able to use the nearby pool. Great selection of supermarkets. Great base for walking in this fantastic part of spain.
Montejaque aug 2017
Motejaque is een aangenaam rustig dorpje in de bergen van Andalucie. De bewoners zijn zeer vriendelijk en gastvrij naar ons als toerist. De omgeving is prachtig; wandelen is goed mogelijk maar vereist een goede wandelkaart. 's Zomers moet je als wandelaar vroeg vertrekken om voor de hitte weer terug te zijn. Een prima uitvalsbasis voor een vakantie in het ruige Andalucische berglandschap.
Het dorp heeft verrassend veel barretjes waar je wat kunt drinken en eten (erg lekker!).
Het huis is netjes en comfortabel en in bezit van een uitstekende WiFi (schijnt belangrijk te zijn voor de wat oudere jeugd...).
Zwemmen kan in het kleine zwembad van Casas de Motejaque, of in de public pool net buiten het dorp, of (eeen aanrader) in het bergwater meertje van Cuevo del Gato.
Isabelle van Casas de Montejaque is zeer behulpzaam en verstrekt erg veel informatie. Bij haar kun je terecht met de meest uiteenlopende vragen.

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus im alten Dorfkern, liebevoll renoviert. Betreuung durch Agentur vor Ort sehr gut und hilfsbereit in allen Fragen rund um den Aufenthalt (Besorgung von Permiso für Wanderungen, Wegbeschreibung,..)! Direkte Umgebung toll zum Wandern und Vogelbeobachtung!

The area surrounding the village is famed for its flora and fauna. Opportunities for bird watching are superb and we can recommend an excellent local guide.
Beaches at San Pedro,Puerta Banus and Estepona are approx an hour's drive away.
The airports of Jerez, Seville and Malaga are about one and half hour's drive. Montejaque can also be reached by train to our neighbouring village.
15 minutes drive takes you to Ronda with its picturesque whitewashed streets, famed bullring and gorge. Restaurants and tapas bars abound.
Montejaque itself is self sufficient, having a bakery, butchers and four mini supermarkets. There are two banks with ATMs and a post office.Internet access at our agents office and at the village information centre.
