walking distance to blue flag beach and close to Cala Conta and Cala Bassa
- English, Spanish
I am a busy stylist with two children. My work can take over so i love spending quality time with friends and family. It is really important to me that my living space is relaxing and functional. Travelling is a must!
Louise purchased this Villa in 2008
Why Louise chose Sant Josep de sa Talaia
I bought the property in San Agustin because I love the beaches in the area and i can walk to one of them. The villa has a wonderful feel about it, like an oasis. My children also needed somewhere well connected, not too far off the beaten track. There are buses and even boats in the summer that take you to different areas.
What makes this Villa unique
The villa has multiple areas for relaxing. There are 3 terraces in the apartment and there are 3 different areas in the main house. The courtyard, the pool area and the kitchen terrace. Many clients have enjoyed that as family and friends can relax in there own space. The property is tucked away but not too far from anywhere. Many clients say they didn't want to go out because they were so chilled at the villa!

A beautifully presented villa with plenty of indoors and outside spaces to share or retreat to.
Rayo de Sol has been very thoughtfully laid out with the pool area separate from the more sheltered outside courtyard dining area which leads off of the main living area. The four bedrooms in the villa, each with their own bathroom (3 of which are en-suite) have been individually decorated by Louise to a Moroccan theme that gives them a real charm. Comfy beds, fresh linen and plenty of towels. Only two of the rooms have air-con, but we found the ceiling fans in the others to be more than adequate during our stay in September. Instant hot water is supplied from three separate Calor gas cylinder boilers, a couple of which ran out towards the end of our 9 day stay. These were replaced within hours of notifying Louise. The main living area is a huge light and airy kitchen/dining/lounge area which offers a massive dining table and a very well equipped kitchen. A huge fridge to chill your beer and food, a dishwasher and a range gas oven and hob. Again, don't expect mains gas pressure, so your pizza will take 5 mins more to brown! Plenty of crockery, glasses and utensils of every description, although the most adventurous that we got in the culinary department was probably the aforementioned pizza and a few pasta creations. Mostly we grazed on the fabulous charcuterie, cheese and fresh fruit and veg that is available from the many supermarkets nearby. There are sofas to flop on and watch the large HD TV which has a wide selection of channels including lots of kids stuff which pleased the 1 year old in our party. There is good WiFi in and around the villa, although more patchy by the pool. The music system is set up so you can play tunes either or both inside and/or by the pool. The pool area itself is divine. Beautifully and thoughtfully laid out, it is maintained twice a week. The pool is just long enough to enable a few strokes. There are sheltered areas and parasols if the sun becomes too intense and very comfy sun beds. In the pool room are pool towels and a few for the beach. There is also a large washing machine and a box of assorted kids toys. I would recommend hiring a car as it is a 10 min walk to the main road and the bins that everyone has to use to dispose of recycling and waste. 5 mins more to the nearest beach. Better ones further afield. Taxi transfers to and from the airport will virtually pay for a weeks' hire car. Thank you Louise for allowing us to share your beautifully handcrafted villa and being the ideal hands off host. x Simon +8
Fantastic villa for a wonderful holiday with family and friends
We had the most wonderful holiday in this fantastic villa which is in a great location, peaceful and relaxing but near enough to great beaches as well. Louise and Jason were great and very welcoming and helpful particularly when we got lost finding the house. Note to all guests...follow Louise's directions to the villa, not your sat navy or iPhone. The pool was well maintained as was the house during our stay without being intrusive. We did quite a few airport runs for various members of the family which was very easy indeed. Overall highly recommended and we would certainly return.
Lovely villa, terrible experience
The villa itself is lovely and easily accommodated our party of nine. It was spacious and well decorated. It was well up kept. However, we experienced several issues with the villa and its owner. Out of the 5 rooms that the villa had, only 3 had air conditioning and only 2 of those worked. The villa was cockroach infested. The location of the villa is very very awkward. Most of the taxi drivers refused to take us to the villa and the ones that did had a lot of trouble finding it. However, the main problems we experienced were because of the villa owner. There was a lack of communication prior to and throughout our stay causing us many problems. Whilst we were struggling to find the villa upon our arrival in Port des Torrent, after trying to contact her she stated that it was an inconvenient time for her and that we were to find the villa ourselves at 11pm. Upon arrival, we had no welcome instructions or pack and were unaware of any expectations or features of the villa. We had several of the owner’s employees arrive during the week, unannounced and disrupted our holiday. Had we known about these unexpected visits we would have planned our day accordingly. During our stay, we had an intruder during the day, and her sudden appearance was very unnerving for two of the female members of the holiday party. When we were checking out, the owners was late to the villa and as a result we had to leave under a rock and have not actually ever met her. During the booking experience, she attempted to use the exchange rate to her advantage and tried to get us to pay a lot more than the originally agreed price. When she had to return our security deposit, she charged for rubbish removal as she did not ask us to remove the rubbish from the black bins outside. We were charged for a sunscreen on the sheets even though the towels were already stained upon our arrival. Unfortunately, the experience with the owner has completely marred what would have been a lovely holiday.
I am shocked by your review.
You said you were very happy when i spoke to you on the phone and you had a fantastic time. I am very sorry you feel this way.
The villa is only advertised with 2 air con units.
There was never any mention of cockroaches?
The location of the villa is very easy and taxis come and go all the time. I have never had anyone complain about location. I sent you clear instructions on how to get there and spoke to you on your phone on your arrival.
It wasn't an inconvenient time, i was working in Formentera for 3 days.
I spoke to you and said any problems please don't hesitate to contact me.
Before your arrival i asked you if you would like me to get you any shopping because you were getting in so late. Your reply 'we only want a few basics as we are going shopping the next day, no need to spend too much money'
I agree that the villa needs an instruction pack. There is information on a pin board with my details.
The only 2 employees that came to the villa were the gardener and pool man. The days that they come to villa were on the board.
When you contacted me about the woman entering villa courtyard I went straight to the police station an filed a report about her. She has not been seen since.
Unfortunately on the morning you left i missed you by 2 minutes. I saw you walking down the road with your suitcases. If i had know you were having a problem with taxis to villa i would have helped you but you never once communicated that to me apart from when i spoke to you on arrival.
I have never tried to charge clients more because of the exchange rate. I didn't in your case either. It was purely a misunderstanding.
When i returned the deposit i explained that i had deducted £168 from £1000 for shopping you asked me to get, stained sheets and rubbish removal. The reason i charge for rubbish is to stop vermin, ants and cockroaches. In the heat in the summer you cannot leave rubbish sitting around all week. This is stated in the booking conditions that you were sent.
The towels are checked weekly and come straight from laundrette. I apologise if one slipped through.
I can only apologise again for the way you feel. This is the first bad review i have had. It was unfortunate that the week of your arrival i had been booked on a job off the island.
Please reread the booking conditions and villa description, you will see that some of your points are not valid.
I am a fair person.
Outstanding stay in ibiza
Just back from Louise villa where we stayed 1 week. The villa is just perfect, we loved the space, the decoration (Louise has a really nice style of life 😊), the location, the pool area, the BBQ, the terrasse in the top floor, all the facilities ...It is a truly home for having great time with friends and family. Louise is just a lovely host, helpful during all the week.
It was just a perfect stay, and I am looking foward to go back very soon.
A lot of love
The title says it all. A home from home. Everything you need and more than you might have thought of.
My 3rd time coming back. It,s a perfect spot and close to the beaches but South of the way so it's peaceful.
Louise has been so easy to deal with, nothing's too much.
Highly recommend .. 5* villa in great location
I have stayed at this villa every year and can recommend this to anyone who loves the Ibiza island.

I wouldn't stay anywhere else... I can't wait to return this Summer.
How to get there
Ibiza airport is 20 minutes’ drive.
A local Blue Flag beach is within 10 minutes’ walk. Sant Agusti and Sant Josep villages are 5 minutes’ drive; San Antonio is 10 minutes’ drive and Ibiza Town is 20 minutes’ drive.
The beautiful nearby beach of Cala Conta is famous for its amazing sunset and great restaurants, including the popular Sunset Ashram. Cala Bassa (where Kate Moss was photographed for a Vogue campaign) is also renowned for its beauty and is rated as the 7th best beach in Spain. It is now home to Cala Bassa Beach Club. Cala Tarida beach has watersports and great restaurants, as well as Cotton Beach Club cliff top restaurant. All are within 5/10 minutes’ drive. Sa Caleta and Cala Jondal are 15 minutes’ drive with some fabulous mix of beach and waterside restaurants.
Restaurants & amenities
There are some wonderful restaurants in the area. The local family restaurant and supermarket Es Cucó has a selection of organic, local and international produce. Sant Agusti has a couple of my favorite restaurants, Can Berri Vell and Can Berri. Sant Josep village has a great little café as well as restaurants with German, Spanish, French and Italian cuisine, including Es Boldado, an amazing fish restaurant on the edge of the cliff looking out to sea. And in 15 minutes you can be at the Blue Marlin beach club, which has now taken over Yemanja restaurant too. There is also a golf course 30 minutes away.
