A fully furnished private villa with own pool and garden set in the peaceful Sotogrande Alto private estate, with uninterrupted panoramic views overlooking the 3rd fairway of the Almenara golf course and San Roque golf course beyond. The world class golf courses of Valderamma, La Reserva, Sotogrande Old Course and Almenara, are all within a 5 to 10 minute drive away.In addition the 4 star Almenara Hotel and Spa is a 3 minute drive up the hill and provides excellent dining. The Sotogrande Marina, beaches, exclusive bars and restaurants, supermarkets, tennis courts and equestrian centers are all within 15 minutes driving or less.

This Villa was specifically designed as a holiday house with ease of management, comfortable living and enjoyment of the many local amenities key considerations.

There is area controlled underfloor heating for all the main living rooms and bathrooms. Air conditioning is also installed in the two principle bedrooms with cooling fans for the two smaller bedrooms.

Two travel cots and two high chairs are available.

The swimming pool area can be fenced off to make it safe for small children.

The Villa has wireless broadband and satellite television.

Outside the house has a two tiered private garden with a 4 x 8 metre pool set into the lawn, overlooked by a sun terrace. Eight sun loungers are provided.

Three of the bedrooms open out on to the sun terrace. The master bedroom at first floor level, has it's own private terrace. Also on the same level there is an outside but part covered terrace with beautiful uninterrupted views over a small wooded valley and golf courses. On this terrace also, are a coffee table, 2 rattan armchairs a rattan sofa and rattan foot stools and a wrought iron dining table with 8 chairs.

About Clare Pilling

We have been coming to this wonderful part of Southern Spain for many years, because my husband's Uncle and Aunt, who were both artists, lived for many years nearby in San Roque. It was as a result of our love of Andalucía and the beautiful scenery of the Sierras de Ronda that we decided to build Casa Clara. The house belongs to our daughters, who are both married with families, living in the UK and being working wives, I and my husband have taken on the letting responsibilities on their behalf. We love to share our house and all that this secluded private estate, adjacent to every conceivable outdoor activity can offer; but in particular would encourage our guests to take time to drive into the nearby Sierras to appreciate something of the real Spain.

Why Clare Pilling chose San Roque

The exclusive and gated estate of Sotogrande provides us with peace of mind when we are back in the UK, but it is also quiet, beautifully maintained and close to so many different holiday amenities.

Gibraltar airport is 20 minutes away and Malaga just over an hour on the motorway. There are excellent super markets within 10 minutes drive as well as good Restaurants, Golf courses, Beach clubs, Marinas, Polo grounds, Equestrian Centers and Tennis courts etc.,all within less than 20 minutes drive.

A car is an essential requirement when renting Casa Clara, but then it enables you to visit the wonderful old town of Ronda, as well as other places no more than 90 minutes away such as Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, Marbella, Gibraltar, Algeciras and Tarifa.

What makes this villa unique

Obviously the fact that the weather can be balmy and sunny for 52 weeks of the year is a major attraction. However Casa Clara for us is the perfect holiday house, easy to live in, very tranquil, wonderful views and often the only noise is that of the birds and at the right time of year nighting gales, singing in the wood below the house.

Notes on accommodation: The house is prepared for all guests by our maid, who will also come in to have a quick tidy and change sheets for those guests who take the property for more than one week.

Great villa in excellent location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days in the fantastic villa, perfect for our family of 5. The house was very comfortable and well equipped, beautifully furnished and in a wonderful location with fabulous views over the Almanara golf course. Stunning gardens with large pool, sadly a little cold to use in April though but our 3 boys had lots of fun with the ping pong table instead! Lovely walks around the quiet area and plenty to do in the Sotogrande estate. Thanks so much and hope to return one day.

Beautiful views, well appointed Villa in a quiet location.

We had a wonderful time, although the weather was mixed, but when it rained we were able to light a fire and enjoy the views from the comfort of our sofa. The villa was beautifully prepared for our visit and met our expectations in every way.

Private and Scenic

The owners were extremely helpful during the booking and when we arrived we received and email asking us if everything was to our satisfaction. A nice touch.

The villa is exactly as the shown. The upstairs terrace provides plenty of shade and a respite from the sun. The bedding was extremely comfortable and both my wife and I slept well. The area is very peaceful and secure and the restaurants within a few miles of the property are excellent. The only point I would make is the kitchen is not very big and although that was not a problem for us as there were only two of us staying there I imagine it could be an issue for a large family. However apart from that there is plenty space and it is a lovely property.

Excellent villa in a superb setting

We recently spent 2 weeks at the superb villa.

The villa is set on the Sotogrande Alto estate and overlooks a golf coarse , 4 of us enjoyed the villa and all of its amenities !!

Pool is superb as was the layout of the villa.

Had no need to call anybody for assistance as it was very well maintained !!! Plenty of good restaurants nearby to choose from as well. Definitely would recommend this villa.

Peaceful and scenic

Our trip to Casa Clara was just delightful. We wanted to have a few days away to recharge the batteries and Casa Clara delivered. Everything is beautifully kept and all you could ever need is there for your convenience. The owners are very nice and helpful with tips on where to go in and around Sotogrande. We particularly loved the outside areas at the villa, which are very comfortable and sociable. Would definitely visit again.

Nearest beaches at Sotogrande Marina, Alcaidesa and Torreguadiaro. Sailing at Alcaidesa and Sotogrande. Windsurfing at Tarifa 45 minutes away. Duquesa, Puerto Banus and Marbella are within 45 minutes drive. Sotogrande Alto being a private estate is a quiet, peaceful and safe place to relax away from the hub bub of the Costa del Sol.


Gibraltar Airport is approximately 20 minutes drive from the house (British Airways and Monarch fly to Gibraltar direct from the UK). Malaga is approximately one hour's drive, (British Airways, easyjet, RyanAir, FlyBe amongst others fly direct from the UK). We strongly advise you hire a car throughout your stay. Cars can be hired from Gibraltar (we suggest you hire a car across the border from Gibraltar in La Linea - details available on request), Malaga or locally.


Cadiz: 146 kms, about 1 hr 46 minutes.

Tarifa: 53 kms, about 53 minutes.

Seville: 204 kms, about 2 hours 14 minutes.
