Stroll along winding footpaths for a mile and you will find the secluded beaches of Marsland Mouth and Welcombe on the Atlantic Heritage Coast.
Beautiful House and lovely garden. Big comfy beds and big sofas in the living area. We didn't need to use the lovely fire as the house was already warm enough. Glad the weather was not bad as unsure how we would had got up and down the tiny trek. The kitchen was well equipped however the washing machine was faulty on our visit. We couldn't get any mobile signals and the internet only covers one half of the house. I guess this is a small price to pay for such a remote cottage.
Gooseham Mill is in an absolutely stunning location, with beautiful grounds and gardens. The house itself is well equipped and comfortable and is the perfect place to unwind. Can highly recommend!
The peace, the tranquility and the beauty of the garden and surroundings plus the Quality of the interiour - old world charm (furniture) combined with modern day luxury (1st class bathrooms, heavenly beds etc...) made our stay here unforgettable. We hardly left the place for a whole week because we were so contented! It was the best Holiday rental we had ever stayed at... and we've seen quite a few...Thank you to the owner and Nick for letting us share this Corner of paradise for a week! We hope to be back one day!
With the onset of good weather, we decided on a last minute break to Cornwall. As we were travelling with a dog, I was hoping for any sort of availability and couldn't believe my luck when I stumbled upon Gooseham Mill. When we arrived we quickly realised that the pictures and the description were no exaggeration. The house was immaculate. The gardens were actually bigger and better than we could have ever expected. The garden and surroundings were so peaceful and scenic that on a couple of days we didn't even make it past the front gate. Fresh fruit and veg picked in Devon and then eaten in Cornwall! How many gardens can make that claim? As frequent visitors to this part of the country, it is easily the best house we have ever stayed in. Ok the Rayburn took a little getting used to, but we soon managed to get the hang of it and everybody has the extra kilos to prove it.
There are plenty of local beaches to explore, including one that you can access via a half hour walk directly from the path outside the house. There is a very big file of local info on things to do and see, where to drink and eat etc. etc. in the house. In the end we just ran out of days.
A big thank you to Nick at Elite West for sorting everything out so quickly and professionally. Hope to be back next summer.
This was our first time at Gooseham Mill but not our first time with Elite West Holidays. I regularly use this company as I know the high standards they set and the unparalleled customer service offered by Nick and his team. Gooseham Mill did not disappoint! If is a beautiful house with many homely touched that makes you feel at home immediately. The house is well equipped and the garden is to die for. Local shops like the butchers in Killhampton offer excellent goods and Bude is just a short drive away. We had so much to do like table tennis, badminton and croquet that even with less than summer weather you can never get bored. There is a lovely patio for alfresco dining and the views of the garden are breathtaking. Where else can you in your back garden walk over a bridge and be in a different county. I cannot rate this place high enough and urge you to stay here. The rental price is amazing for what you get and it gives you a week of seeing how you wish you could live every day!
We were looking for a holiday which offered us the opportunity to have a break from the normal hustle and bustle of life and what we found in Gooseham Mill House was total relaxation in the most beautiful and tranquil setting. The house itself was furnished to a wonderfully high standard and provided everything we needed and more and was lovely and clean and maintained to a very high standard. The gardens were amazing and our daughter found it a great adventure crossing the bridge over the stream in the garden and being able to travel from Cornwall to Devon in one step. There were plenty of outdoor games set up in the garden such as table tennis, badminton and basketball with all racquets, etc provided. We walked to the beach one day through the lovely nature reserve and even though it was quite a walk it was worth it to have what felt like our very own private beach as we were the only ones on it. Overall Gooseham Mill offered us the opportunity for total relaxation in total luxury and we would highly recommend this property and the professional services of Elite West Holidays.
