Impressive property with a good blend of old world charm balanced with modern day comforts

Great location for the perfect getaway vacation - very comfortable house with extensive gardens blending well with the natural environment - we will definitely return as it's the best location we have experienced - absolutely beautiful.

Truly Amazing

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a great week staying at the amazing Gooseham Mill House.

Hard to put into words just how great the house and setting are. A secluded retreat but within easy driving distance of Devon and Cornwall's attractions. The owners are also exceedingly helpful.

Our only points (not criticisms) are the lack of mobile service - with no house phone - and interesting drive to and from the property on the narrowest of single track roads. We coped without issue, but worth mentioning.

Would definitely return.

A peaceful and characterful haven

  • 5 of 5

We loved Gooseham Mill House. The house is old and interesting, but at the same time spacious and comfortable. The garden is full of interesting things to look and a stream for the dog to splash in. Encouraged by Paul the gardener we helped ourselves to lots fresh vegetables from the kitchen garden, and loved that it feels a lot more remote than it actually is. We wanted some peace and quiet, and weren't disappointed.

We were first time visitors to the Hartland area and enjoyed exploring the coastline across to Bideford and down to Padstow. In particular we enjoyed Boscastle and the sands at Instow beach where John's store on the sea front is worth a visit.

Very little to criticise at Gooseham really (apart from the weather). The directions to the property weren't quite correct and didn't take the best route, there was no wood for a first burn in the fire as promised, and the wifi only works in one half of the house. All minor issues

A great place to stay, both inside and out

  • 5 of 5

Excellent property with spacious, well appointed interior and a large interesting garden. Our party ranged from 69 years old to 8, and all seven of us found something to really like about the place.

We suggest you walk to the beach via the woodland walk and eat at the Old Bush, where the food and service were very good.

Use it a place to relax and chill, or as a base to explore the coastline of North Cornwall, either way you will enjoy.
