Why Jeanette Lacy Scott chose Kotor
We came to Montenegro on a family holiday and stayed in Muo, just outside of Kotor. We fell in love with Montenegro and decided (on a bit of a whim!) to cash in a pension policy which was sitting doing nothing and buy an apartment so that we could get a bit if fun and enjoyment from the money. Once we saw Prcanj we knew it was the perfect place for us. As lovely as Kotor is it gets so crowded and noisy in Summer and Prcanj is so peaceful but you can get into Kotor easily in the day or evening and Prcanj has it's own bars and restaurants if you are feeling lazy (as we often are!). It is also easy to get to Tivat which is morphing into a sophisticated holiday resort and fun to visit. We come every year and every time explore a little further afield in this fascinating country.
What makes this Apartment unique
We think we are so lucky to have discovered the perfect spot on Kotor Bay. It is a beautiful village in a great location. The apartment is so well located, easy to get to Kotor and Tivat but with enough local amenities that you don't have to get into the car to find a shop or a restaurant or a bar - they are all on your doorstep. There are lots of little beaches and jetties to sunbathe and swim from. There are some lovely local walks. There are so many places to visit. Or you can just sit on the balcony and watch the boats go by. We never get bored and always have a truly relaxing break!

Wonderful stay in Prčanj
We had a wonderful holiday at this lovely apartment. It has everything you need to enjoy your stay in Prčanj, its close to Kotor and is a great base to explore further afield if you want to. I would definitely recommend staying here. A big thank you to the owners from Tina and Gerry, we will definitely be back to Montenegro its a beautiful place
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review We are always happy to hear that our guests have had a lovely holiday and have enjoyed beautiful Montenegro. You will always be welcome back!
Kotor Gulf best location
We did enjoy our stay here and after touring around, decided that this was probably the best area on the Kotor Gulf.
The flat was clean and well equipped but we never mastered the "krypton test" to get the tv going for the royal wedding.
The bed was comfortable but the heat we we experienced soon had us kicking off the douvet.
We came to paint and draw as well as take in the sights and found lots of inspirations.
There is a mini market close by and was definitely "an open all hours". The local Kotor Bay restaurant was a great place to catch a beer or wine after a hot day painting.
Their meals are reasonably priced too.
There are a lot of visits from cruise ships, so if you are going to the tourist hotspots, get there early!
The local bus service is good and although we had a hire car we used this to great effect by getting up early with the locals and catching the 7.30 bus into town. the drivers seem to stop anywhere and keep letting passengers on even though the bus looks full.
The Montenegro drivers certainly drive with a passion and we had several moments of drama. Once you get used to it and join in with their driving style you will be able to cope.
Overall, mountain scenery. land and seascapes, warm temperatures with a collection of historical backgrounds are all to be enjoyed.
Not a lot of English is spoken but use of their polite expressions goes down well with locals.
A perfect place to enjoy and explore Boka Kotorska
The apartment was a perfect base to enjoy and explore the Venetian rustic beauty of Prcanj and the surrounding area. Every morning it was pure pleasure to sit on the balcony and watch the sun rise over the mountains with a cuppa, view the ships majestically gliding in and little boats whizzing back and forth as the Boka woke up.
A short stroll down to one of the charming jetties that line the beautiful mountainous lake meant a morning swim in the safe, crystal clear bay was a daily obligation! A heaven-sent one though, that ensured a breakfast of freshly baked bread from the local Pekara was always heartily enjoyed afterwards.
A slow walk to Kotor old town is recommended to get a feel for the area, as is the climb up St John's fortress for stunning views. Kayaking from Muo is also well worth doing to explore the other side of the lake. An evening meander through Prcanj was always a pleasure as families and folk are out swimming or just chilling till dusk and there are countless konobas, restaurants and little markets for an evening meal or refreshment.
If you hire a car, visit the Njegos Mausoleum at Lovcen National Park - the hairpin winding roads that go impossibly higher and higher, peak at the Mausoleum, but the views along the way are just out of this world. You will feel truly among the Gods when you reach the top.
A drive around Kotor Bay to Perast makes a lovely day out for lunch and a climb up the bell tower or a boat trip to Our Lady of the Rocks. Budva & Sveti Stefan were pleasant whistle stops on the Adriatic but it's worth exploring the little bays in between to find hidden gem coves and quirky konobas.
Lustica Peninsula has two distinct sides, the light hearted holiday haven with great views over Tivat Bay and lovely little bathing spots, but further in it gets wild and untamed with endless olive groves, tumble down walls and stunning views out to the Adriatic. Rose on the far tip is worth the journey for it's rustic prettiness and laid back, yachting vibe
We also enjoyed a 2 hour boat trip and quick swim in Skadar Lake, a massive inland clear water lake that stretches into Albania. It was a tranquil and serene water world and bird lover's paradise.
The apartment was perfectly located, clean and well equipped. Communication with the owners and their agent in Prcanj was faultless. So helpful, courteous and responsive. We could not have wished for a better experience and have totally fallen in love with Montenegro and Prcanj
Thank you so much for such a lovely review Emma and for letting others know just how much there is to do and see. As always we are delighted to hear that our guests loved Prcanj and Montenegro as much as we do. So pleased you had everything you needed in the apartment and were well looked after by our agents during your stay.
Wonderful Sea views
We had a fantastic stay, the apartment was ideally situated and perfectly met all our requirements. Sitting on the balcony eating breakfast or having a glass of wine in the evening, watching the boats and liners going in and out of the bay was superb. There are some lovely restaurants close by and the supermarket sold all the basics needed. Kotor old town is lovely and we caught the bus there 3 times during our stay, well worth a visit. We didn't climb the city walls as it was extremely hot but hopefully will return and do so. We visited the nearby beach a few times late afternoon, which wasn't too busy and the sea was lovely and warm. We tried to find somewhere to buy a parasol as there is no shade on the balcony or at the beach but couldn't find one, but that was the only slight negative about our whole trip. The neighbors were extremely friendly, giving us cakes and even an omelette one day. From booking right through to leaving, communication has been excellent and it is definitely worth booking taxis through the agent, who were very helpful We would certainly recommend this apartment and hopefully will return sooner rather than later.
We are delighted you had such a great stay in our apartment and loved the area as much as we do. Great news that everyone was so helpful and friendly it makes such a difference doesn't it! A really good point about a parasol thank you - we will try to source one.
Fabulous *****
Great little apartment!
Very comfortable and well equipped, had everything we needed for a lovely weeks holiday.
Breathtaking views from balcony, where we spent lots of time relaxing with a glass of wine and watching the boats go by!
Prcanj is so scenic and unspoiled. Great restaurants and minimarkets within walking distance. Kotor is definately worth a visit to see the old town and take a boat trip - around 45 mins walk or the bus stops outside the minimarket at the bottom of the hill.
Enjoy!!
We are so pleased you had such a good time and clearly love Prcanj as much as we do. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback which is much appreciated.

Lovely apartment in a great location-stunning scenery
Great short break in a lovely smart apartment which the owners have thoughtfully furnished with all you could need on holiday. Balcony overlooks the bay-lovely for coffee and breakfast in the sun watching the boats sailing into Kotor first thing. Small but well equipped kitchen with washing machine . Sofa bed and bed are both comfortable . Apartment's location in Prcanj is great-it's quieter than nearby Kotor but an easy bus ride away or a pleasant stroll if you prefer. Several nice local restaurants and bars and good small mini market for all your needs.
Thank you Jenny - so pleased you had a lovely time. What a shame it shows as Francis and I staying there (as we booked you in under our name I suspect!). My IT skills don't seem to stretch to changing it!

Location
Coast/Beach:
There are small, safe beaches and puntas from which you can swim and sunbathe on in and around Prcanj. The best beaches (lots of small ones) are towards the Adriatic Coast. The nearest and some of the nicest can be found 10-15 minutes drive away on the Lustica Peninsular and towards Budva.
Travel:
Nearest airports Tivat (25 minutes ) - our agents can arrange taxis for you from/to Tivat which is much cheaper (50%!) than just picking up outside the airport. In 2017 I paid 25 Euros to the taxi outside the airport arriving and 11 euros to the taxi arranged by our agents!.
Dubrovnik & Podgorica (approx 1 hour 30 minutes - drive).
Car hire is inexpensive and recommended and can be arranged through our property management agents in Kotor, but it is not essential as they can also arrange transfer to and from the airports and there is a cheap frequent local bus service which takes you to Kotor Old Town and other main local coastal towns and there is a bus station in Kotor with buses travelling to destinations further afield.
Distances:
Kotor Old Town - 7km, Tivat - 8km, Perast - 18km, Budva Old Town and beaches - 30km, Sveti Stefan - 34km, Dubrovnik - 85km.
Further Details:
There are lots of things to do and see nearby including:
Small towns and villages around Kotor Bay including Dobrota, Perast, Risan - all with little beaches, bars and beautiful buildings (take a boat and visit the church on the island of Sveti Djorde just off Perast).
Kotor: Beautiful Venetian-styled old walled city with cobbled streets and squares and shops, bars, restaurants, banks, daily market and ramparts ascending to St Ivan's fortress -which is a must! Just outside the city walls a colourful market is held every day (Saturday is best) and the marina opposite, with its luxury yachts and visits from cruise liners makes for great people watching! Boat trips and boat hire available here.
Budva: This lively tourist resort by the sea is based around a restored medieval walled city with winding narrow cobbled streets, museums, shops and bars.
Sveti Stefan: A beautiful peninsular famous as a local celebrity haunt.
Tivat: with its large Bay, Tivat has a marina, shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and beaches, an open market, diving school and tennis club. The stunning Porto Montenegro is well under way and worth a visit before it is overrun by the rich and famous!
Lustica Peninsula: A nature reserve with beautiful bays, coves, beaches and lovely countryside with plenty of walking, birdwatching etc.
And further afield (an hour an a half away and more).
The Durmitor National Park and mountains, Lake Skadar National Park and the Tara Canyon (world's second deepest and longest!) Lots of activity sports can be undertaken here, white water rafting, paragliding, walking and skiing in the winter but they are a long drive and you might consider making it more than a day trip!
Dubrovnik and Southern Croatia can be visited for a day trip.
Ulcing and its long sandy beaches.
Cetinje (former capital) is a beautiful mountainous drive from Prcanj with palaces, a monastery and museums.
