As soon as you enter this ‘fairytale’ village perched on the hillside, you feel like you have gone back in time. The unique arched entrance, cobbled streets, ancient churches, tall watch tower, exquisite restaurants and friendly locals all make this place… a little piece of paradise. At the bottom of a quaint alleyway sits characteristic 'Casa Romantica'. Lovingly restored to high standards, with original features such as exposed wooden beams and terra cotta tile floors maintaining that Tuscan charm. Large main bedroom with stunning view, great second bedroom for children with bunk beds and toys, unusal bathroom with bath/shower, cosy living area with corner kitchen, fireplace and French doors leading onto a large sunny balcony overlooking the peaceful valley, perfect for listening to the birds while having your coffee in the morning under the Tuscan sun and for enjoying a glass of local wine in the evenings under the Tuscan stars. The whole house has a very romantic feel to it. Great base for exploring Tuscany with many places to visit close by and lovely beaches just 20 minutes drive away. There is no parking next to the house due to the narrow cobbled street but there is free parking in the car park just 1 minute walk away and on the road approaching the village. There is no internet access in the house itself but there is in the local bar, restaurant and a few other local places. Would suit a couple or family with young children seeking a true Tuscan holiday experience to remember. Many return year after year as they fall in love with Pereta... a real hidden gem.

To cut a long story short. I am a Yorkshire girl who fell in love with an Italian. We both fell in love with Tuscany, especially Pereta!
deborah purchased this Apartment in 2007
Why deborah chose Magliano in Toscana
We have spent many holidays in this area of Tuscany before we had children and after and fell in love with Pereta the very first time we stepped under the arched entrance. I thought it was like a fairytale village. We went to have a look at Casa Romantica for a friend actually but loved it so much that we bought it! The house had such a lovely feel to it and as soon as we walked out onto the balcony, our minds were made up. We had it carefully restored keeping the original wooden beams retaining its Tuscan charm. We call it our 'Little piece of Paradise'
What makes this Apartment unique
Pereta village is a real hidden gem and so is Casa Romantica. You really feel like you are hidden away all alone but actually you are in the village close to everything. I love the spacious main bedroom with the stunning view, my youngest daughter loves the funky kids bedroom with all the toys, my eldest son loves to soak away in the jacuzzi and my other son loves the open fire in the winter. My husband would never move off the balcony if he had his own way. We love to eat out when we go to Pereta as Maria's restaurant serves the best and cheapest set menu ever with traditional local food to die for. We all enjoy going to the pizzeria with Franco's pizza's definitely the best in Italy and it has to be the most child friendly place ever! We love popping to the beach or Saturnia Springs.

Very Highly Recommended.... It's Just Beautiful
Located in a stunning Tuscan village that dates back to the 1500s. The apartment is just perfect, spotlessly clean and well equipped with all the facilities that you will need, it is like a home from home, you can even drink the water straight from the tap! It comes with a balcony offering views over the stunning valley, great for breakfast in the morning or an aperitif before heading out to one of the villages superb restaurants. There are a great choice of beaches which are about a 20 minute drive away. With so much to explore in the region we had an amazing time and will definitely be back next year. I highly recommend it
Thank you for your lovely words. I am so happy you had a great time. Pleased you liked the house and it sounds like you ate out in the village restaurants too... we are very lucky to have them on our doorstep!
I must agree also, that an aperativo on the balcony is not to be missed. Hope you return soon.
Bellissimo week end
Casa veramente molto carina, dotata di tutti i confort in un borgo caratteristico.
La padrona di casa è sempre stata molto gentile e disponibile.
Esperienza che suggerisco di fare e che rifarò.
Amazing, rustic retreat in a superb location
We stayed here for 3 nights with our teenage children. The situationof this property was superb wiith it being part of a medieval village full of twisting cobbled narrow streets and lanes. The restraunts of which there were 3 were all great. Great food at a very reasonable price and the lstaff were lovely, we Would recommend them all. There are so many places to visit from here and the beach was only 20 minutes away. The apartment is rustic and really well equipped with everything you would need along with a modern bathroom and shower. They have thought of everything to help you enjoy your stay with very good recommendations which we used many and enjoyed them all. They make you feel very welcome with excellent communication from booking right up to the day you arrive. I would certainly recommend this for anyone traveling as a family, couples or friends.
Great place for place for a peaceful stay
First of all the owner Debbie couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. She really made us feel like she cared about our holiday, and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
The apartment itself is really comfortable and was extremely clean and well-equipped with a lovely decor. The balcony had a nice view, and in the evenings it was possible to sit outside and watch the fire flies.
Pereta is a very small village, and only suitable if you enjoy total peace and quiet. It is however a great base for exploring the area. I absolutely recommend this rental.
I am very happy you and your family had a lovely time. Yes the house is a great base to explore the beautiful region. The balcony is a real bonus.... you were lucky to see the fire flies as they are only out for about 2 or 3 weeks!!! Pereta is truely magical and we are very lucky that it is not spoiled with loads of tourists, giving you a true taste of Tuscany. Luckily its very close to larger villages where you can find hustle and bustle if you want. Hope you return again soon. Thank you for looking after our little house :)
This was our fourth time in Pereta but our first time to stay in Casa Romantica. The apartment has been lovingly restored and has everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Its location in Pereta is great; just a few steps to the cafe for a morning pastry and coffee. :)
Our young boys enjoyed having their own room with a view over the valley. The balcony is great for breakfast, and the whole apartment stays relatively cool during the day thanks to its location. We didn't even have to use the air conditioning much at the end of July!
As for Pereta, it's the perfect place for us. Quiet, beautiful, relaxing and full of friendly people. The village is tiny but still has two restaurants and a pizzeria. All are fantastic and a real taste of Italy. If you have children, be sure to go to Franco's. The best pizza in Italy and the friendliest and funniest owner. If you want a romantic dinner, Maria's is the place. Luciano makes you feel like part of the family, and the food is amazing.
You can't go wrong booking Casa Romantica or visiting Pereta. They're both perfect.
Lovely Apartment in Beautiful village
This was a fantastic apartment for us and our 2 boys (12/15). We loved the fact that it is part of the walls of the village, and with great views from the balcony. It feels like a cool calm cave, with amazing light and views from across the valley. Sunbathing on the balcony, or sipping glass of wine in the evening, it was all good. With A/C (only required for 15mins in the evening), and nice spacious bathroom, main bedroom and sitting room/kitchen. 2nd bedroom small, but our boys liked the bunk beds. It was a great base for exploring the local area and attractions. Francos is a great pizza place, and amazing food in Marias restaurant next door. Altogether a great experience, would definitely go back.
Thank you for your review. We are really happy you enjoyed your stay. The house is quite unique being built into the actual walls of the village and it does make it very characteristic. Sounds like you enjoyed the balcony... it is a real bonus. Bet your boys had fun at franco's pizzeria with his delicious pizzas and funny jokes!! Hope you return again soon
The Maremma coastline is just 20 minutes drive away, with its beautiful sandy beaches where you can enjoy water sports, relax and soak up the Tuscan sun or even hire bikes and cycle along the coast line through pine woods, keeping your eyes open for wild boar and deer!
Nearest airports, Pisa or Rome, are approx. 2 hours drive away. Car hire is essential. Albinia train station is only 15 minutes drive away where you can hop on a train to Rome for the day!
There is no parking in the village due to the narrow cobbled streets but you can park on the road approaching the village or in the car park. Both free of charge and a very short stroll from the house.
There are many interesting towns close by well worth a visit such as Pitigliano, Porto santo Stefano, Scansano, Magliano in Toscana, Sorano, Montiano, Montorgiali, Roccalbegna, Grosseto and many more. A little further a field are Siena and Pisa and the elegant cities of Rome and Florence are about 2 hours drive away or 1 hour by train. The Maremma national park is 25 mins drive and Saturnia's Hot Springs 30mins drive. You can take a ferry ride from Porto Santo Stefano to Giglio Island.
The whole area boasts delicious traditional cuisine and fine wines like DOC Morellino di Scansano from the nearby town of Scansano, where you can sample wines and local specialities in one of the characteristic ‘enotecas’ (tasting shops) or just sit outside the cafe with a delicious Italian ice-cream and watch the world go by! The famous spa town of Saturnia, only 30minutes drive away, with its hot natural springs cascading into small rock pools, like mother natures Jacuzzi is a definite must especially in the winter! For the more energetic there is a horse riding stables down near the beach just 20 minutes drive away, where you can trek through olive groves in the Tuscan hills. If you want lively bars and an English breakfast on your holiday, this is definitely not the place for you! If you’re looking for culture, art, crafts, tradition, local cuisine, fine wines all in an area of stunning natural beauty, where the pace of life slows right down under the Tuscan sun… then you’ll definitely enjoy a holiday in this part of paradise!
Tuscany boasts a lovely climate. The best way to descibe it is that it seems to have 'proper' seasons which all have something special to share with you... Warm sunny Spring days make a regular appearance from as early as March sending the area into full bloom with blossom on the trees and poppies by the roadside. The summers are hot and relaxing with inviting beaches and shaded pine forests. Autumn's sunny days are a kilidascope of colours, an aray of aromas with bursting vines and olive groves awaiting harvest time. The winter months are colder, time to enjoy the quiet villages filled with the cosy aroma of wood burning on the open fires, wrap up warm for a stroll on the beach or soak away your worries in the nearby hot springs of Saturnia... Mother Nature's Jacuzzi!
A hospitality fee is payable at the house: 60 euro for up to 2 people. 70 euro for 3-4 people. This includes the hire and laundry costs of all towels, beach towels and bed linen. It also includes a welcome basket on arrival (which contains: pasta, sauce, wine, bread, jam, biscuits, milk), plus the final clean when you leave.
