Apartment in Les Carroz, Haute Savoie, Rhone-Alpes, France - Approx 200m From Gondola And 500m From Village Centre

Ski right back to the apartment (snow conditions permitting). Reached by quiet footpath. Breakfast on hot croissants from the bakery 3 mins walk, lunch by an open fire in a mountain hut, enjoy the afternoon on the balcony and dine in the evening in one of the many lovely village restaurants within walking distance with festive lights on the walk back in the crisp fresh air.

One bedroom ground floor apartment (area 31 sq m) in Les Carroz. The sleeping arrangements are a double bed in the bedroom which is equipped with built-in cupboards. There are Bunk beds in living room which fold away to allow for a dining space. The kitchen area is well equipped with an oven, induction hob, kettle and microwave, as well as a dishwasher.

Relax and enjoy music or television in the lounge area with wifi available during the winter season and on request at other times.

A large balcony allows meals in the fresh air looking on to the Figaro piste.

Skiing equipment can be stored in the lockable ski locker in the cellar.

The location is ideal for those wanting proximity to the ski lifts for skiing and a peaceful location yet easy to reach location.

John is retired from 30 years in the motor industry and Anne works in the financial industry. We both love sunshine, skiing, golf and John is an accomplished marathon runner.

Why John and Anne chose Les Carroz d'Arâches

Les Carroz is so easy to reach from Geneva and has a lovely atmosphere - a great place to visit both winter and summer. The local council lay on many entertainments - bands playing in the square, 'Santa Claus' arriving to collect the children's letters, night skiing and so on.

What makes this apartment unique

We love not having to drive during a holiday in LC. Everything is close by - shops, restaurants, cinema and swimming pool complex.

Beautiful clean apartment overlooking the slopes

We had a fabulous holiday here. Anne was a great host, keeping us updated along the way and being very accommodating. The apartment was lovely, clean and well equipped and overlooking the slopes with a very short walk to the town. Easy access to ski in and out which was great. Would love to return.

Fantastic apartment in a brilliant location

Just returned from our second stay in this pretty apartment in Les Carroz. Whilst 2017 hasn't been a memorable ski season in the French Alps John and Anne did everything they could to make our family ski trip a brilliant one. The apartment is clean, well equipped and conveniently located on the Piste close to the telecabine. It's also near to a number of fantastic restaurants, bakers and shops.

Great place

Absolutely loved this place. Stayed for a short week break skiing with my daughter. The apartment is brilliantly located, right next to the slopes so your on your ski's within minutes. Short walk into town with really conveniently located bakery, bars, restaurants and supermarket. Anne and John were very helpful, providing lots of advice and communications before our trip. Thanks for the stay and hopefully we will be back again next year!

Great Apartment

As a family of four we have stayed in Les Carroz several times over the past few years. This is the first time that we have stayed at the apartment, from booking through to leaving the apartment Anne and John provided detailed notes, all went smoothly. Our two sons are over 6 ft and both slept well in the fold down bunk beds. Although Les Carroz suffered with "no snow" over Christmas, the proximity of the apartment to the telecabin and the free shuttle bus to Flaine meant that we were able to get some good skiing in. The apartment had everything we needed, was clean, plenty of hot water and had good internet access. It is also located close to the nearby shops. A little gem. Many thanks to Anne and John

Convenient for both shops and piste

We had a fantastic time based here. Being a ground-floor apartment, it was truly ski-in. Even in April, it was possible to ski within 20 yards of the back door. The local baker was 2 minutes walk, and they happen to be the only place in Les Carroz who can sell you milk on Sunday/Monday, when the main supermarket is closed (you need to ask, though). With the new carpet lift on the immediate piste to the apartment, it's ideal (i.e. convenient and free!) for parents to introduce their littl'ns to the whole "feet-on-planks" caper. We are certainly aiming to return.

We were a little wary about booking through Owners Direct, but it was great with lots of prompt info and good advice from Anne, so thank you very much. The apartment was a little tricky to find initially as everything and everywhere was covered in several feet of snow! :-). The apartment was well equipped and in a great location, really enjoyed Les Carroz and would like to see more of it! ….. It was a fantastic holiday.

Special interest holidays:

Yoga and cookery courses are offered in the village in the summer as well as horse riding. The village boasts tennis courts, outdoor swimming pool and a leisure/health centre. During the ski season there are dog sleigh rides, parapenting, night skiing and skating.


Geneva airport is approximately one hour away from the resort. There are local taxi companies who will pick up from the airport or a weekly coach during the ski season. The drive from Calais takes approximately 9 hours - mostly motorways. Car hire or use of car is not necessary if you are content to ski or walk around Les Carroz. However if you wish to visit other areas use of a car is recommended.


Geneva and Annecy with their lovely lakes are less than an hour. Chamonix and the Portes de Soleil are less than three-quarters of an hour. Historic Samoens is 30 mins drive.

Les Carroz has a church, a cinema, swimming pool, ice skating rink, tourist office, banks, doctors clinic, pharmacy, hairdressers, ski hire shops, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, post office, art gallery, craft shops, bakeries, local produce and charcuterie shops, clothing shops and newagents as well as a produce and clothing market every Tuesday. The apartment is 300m from the centre of the village and only 50m from the nearest restaurant - the Poirier which has lots of atmosphere and 100m from the bakery - you'll be back in the apartment with the baguette still warm!

For Rentals longer and shorter than standard (7 nights) please contact the owners (the automatic system used by Owners Direct website is not always correct.) A booking form will be sent to you and must be returned with a deposit of £200/300 euros per week. Final payment due 8 weeks before rental. Refundable damages deposit £250/300 euros returned within two weeks of departure. If booking is cancelled before date of final payment, deposit will be refunded less adminstration charge of £25. For cancellation after final payment date refunds will only be effected if the apartment is relet less administration costs.

Changeover Day:
Saturdays are the normal changeover day. This is flexible during the low season.
