La Vieille Grange in Semoussac is different in many ways, in offering the best of all worlds in its facilities, its location and in the atmosphere the owners strive to create.
It is gite accommodation with a difference - ideal for couples and year round holidays - with pool, log fires, an acre of garden, views across the valley and a unique “weatherproof” garden room/terrace. Quality assured : up to 50% returning guests !
A quality conversion of an old wine producing barn the gite offers privacy, relaxation, views, a large 4x6m all-weather and all-year heated garden room/terrace, an acre of garden, an 11x5m swimming pool (with diving board at deep end) and all mod cons internally, but at a value-for-money price.
Located in Charente Maritime, surrounded by vineyards and rolling countryside but within 10 minutes of the Gironde estuary and quiet marinas, it is within 30 minutes of a nice beach with lots of lovely local places to visit and with easy access to the life of Bordeaux, La Rochelle, St.Emilion and Cognac.
The gite is specifically designed as spacious (95 m2) self catering holiday accommodation for couples (or 2 friends!) and the owners Martin and Christopher take pride in welcoming and respecting the diversity of their guests, regardless of background.

And when it stops drizzling and warms up - just open up as much or as little of the patio doors as you want - opening up as much as 2/3rds of the room to the garden.

Plenty of choice of garden furniture (wood or PVC sun-loungers, chairs, tables & parasols), plus BBQ and 2 bikes

Yours is the only gite, and normally you will have the pool entirely to yourselves !
Sorry but the gite isn't suitable for children under 13. We're happy to consider one small, well behaved dog.
and not forgetting the ever popular "finishing touches" :

Whilst the gite is attached to Chris and Martin's house, it is completely self contained and the terrace is divided to provide privacy. Your privacy is assured : in the words of previous guests : "Chris and Martin ... manage that delicate task (so easily !) of being unobtrusive & yet so friendly. We shall return ..."
The gite is well equipped with heating for the cooler months, with a Godin log burner in the living room and wall mounted electric radiators and convector heaters in all other rooms - including modern "chaleur douce" radiators for gentle and controllable background warmth
We're ashamed to say that some of the internal doors, even on the ground floor, are too narrow for wheelchairs to get through. Otherwise, the ground floor facilities are quite accessible for people with mobility difficulties.
For people with hearing disabilities, sub-titles can be provided on the TV (dependent on specific programmes) upon request, and many DVDs in the library have sub-titles available.
