First impressions were very disappointing. The agent seemed affable but he asked for payment for the Wifi, which we had already paid to the owner in advance. He then advised that there would be a surcharge for any over usage and stated the cost etc. Fortunately my son was staying with us and, as he lives in Italy, he knows the rates etc. My son was able to quote the correct rate for Wifi. The agent then withdrew his statement. We were quickly shown the property but the agent failed to show that 3 of the main shutters, giving views to the bay, were completely broken and could not be opened, hence we lived in semi darkness and without the promised views for our stay. His excuse, on the day of our departure was that it was something the owner was doing in stages and over a number of years! Not his fault. The fourth bedroom was underground with only a tiny slit of a window; not sure if it would pass fire regulations in this country as that would have had to give access in the case of a fire. It was only suitable as a cellar so we could not use the fourth bedroom as advertised. The pool and surrounding area, BBQ etc were dirty but rather than ring and wait for the agent to organise cleaners we set to and cleaned it ourselves. The pool area was good, but dangerous and we had to keep one side totally off-limits to our grandson as there were only a few shrubs to prevent him falling down the steep slope below the villa. I understand that it is not the owners fault that the very rough road access was dreadful and that it was a difficult and very long, steep walk up and down to the shops and beach. Finally, on the day of departure the agent checked the electricity usage (not mentioned previously) and although we had used no air conditioning or heating, and very little lighting, he wanted to charge us extra. We refused as we had used only the minimum, which he then accepted. Sorry, I can't recommend this property.
We had a busy summer filled with happy guests so we are sorry if we didn't meet your expectations. We are very open and honest about the basement room and is rarely used unless guests request it. With the number of people staying in the villa this room wouldn't have been needed.
With any pool children need to be supervised at all times. There's plenty of space on all other sides of the pool and we have designed the pool with children in mind so they can safely play in shallow areas of the steps. We have spent years building up the shrubs to add extra security but in all honesty that particular side isn't a necessity to walk around.
The wifi is limited in Sardinia so yes it's very basic and can only be used for checking emails/using whats app types services.
Again, we tell all our guests that we recommend a car especially with young children. The walk to the beach/shops is rugged (and nice) but as we are set up on the hill the walk up is a little tiring - all this is explained ahead of booking.
The shutters are in the process of being replaced but doesn't mean they don't open so the sea views could have been enjoyed if opened.
Again, we are sorry for the issues you have raised.
Wonderful villa, stunning view
villa is better than the photos and now has a few lilos for the kids as we left ours. The view takes your breath away, the villa is beautiful and very clean and everyone loved the pool.
Local agent Francesco very personable and efficient.
Would love to return can highly recommend this villa stay.
Our party of 6 had a wonderful week here in 2016.
The pool is above average size and was fabulous!
The villa was well maintained and equipped with utensils.
Would happily come back
Super sun, sea, sunsets in Sardinia
Just had a lovely week in this villa. The welcome was great with Francesco (local contact) showing us round and having good local knowledge. The pool is larger than the average, warm and cleaned twice a week. The villa itself has lovely air conditioned rooms and all the normal facilities you would expect. In the local area (bottom of the hill) are 2 beaches, supermarket, restaurants and Italian icecream. You get some lovely views from the villa and great sunsets. You aren't overlooked and it is nice and quite. Only about 45mins-1hr from Cagliari so dead easy to get to from the airport. Would recommend and all communications have been great through out. Thanks!
The villa is a few minutes to the beaches of Torre delle Stelle.
Elmas airport is located 30km from the villa taking approx. 45 minutes in the car. Easyjet fly to Cagliari from Luton and BA from Gatwick to Cagliari. Car hire is recommended.
Nearby activities include scuba diving, tennis, football, fishing and horse riding.
