About Jamison Ashby

We live in WI about 2.5 hours away from our cottage. We decided to open it up as a rental unit as, unfortunately, with four teenagers, 4 dogs, 4 cats, a guinea pig, full time jobs and our own business, we don't get to utilize it as much as we would like! It would be a waste to not share this property and let other families, dogs, men, women, church groups, explorers, newlyweds, etc. create their own vacation and their own memories on Chute Pond!!

Jamison Ashby purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Jamison Ashby chose Suring

We've been going up to Chute Pond as a family for the last 20 years. We saw the chance to pick up this property and couldn't pass it by!

What makes this cottage unique

Awesome area, little cottage with lake frontage. It's nestled in the Nicolet National Forest. We often see bald eagles as well as other wild life. The property is at the end of a road which butts up to the trails through the woods, while it is secluded with privacy, there are always things to do within walking or a short drives distance!

Slippery Rock is a must see! From the Beach at Chute Pond Park & Campground, Walk across the Dam bridge and take the scenic trail back through the woods to access Slippery Rock, It's Natures waterslide, carved into rocks and at the bottom is a wonderful little river to walk/swim up and down or float in a tube. Go to the cliffs! Just a short walk from the beach at Chute Pond Park, this is not extreme cliff jumping, but cliff jumping all the same! Sand Bar- on a busy weekend you can't miss it- it's where all the boats are tied up next to each other. Breeze Burgers at the Everbreese- Trust me! Other restaurants in the area are Kittys Bar & Grill which is a short walk from the property, the kids can walk there to buy ice cream and kitty cocktails! The Maiden Lake Supper Club and The Schoolhouse Bar are also top rated! Sweet Memories Candy Shoppe is a candy store specializing in the old time feel, with treats you don't see much of anymore and every kids favorite; ICE CREAM.

Perfect weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect weekend getaway for my family, including our dog. The fish were biting right off of the pier, and my daughter enjoyed every second of it. At night we relaxed around the fire. We also ventured into Suring to visit Dairy Delite Depot, which was worth the trip.

Very relaxing stay.

  • 3 of 5

My wife and I and 2 teens had plenty of space in the cabin. Everything we needed was there. Kayaks were used every day. We caught a lot of little fish and a turtle off the dock but the big ones were not biting. We liked the large fire pit and had a fire 3 of the 4 nights we stayed. The mosquitoes were really bad and they seem to be immune to Deep woods Off. Great stau overall. Thanks!

2nd time and we'll be back!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 5 (plus a pup) has stayed at The Ashby's cabin twice now. It has been wonderful. Our children look forward to going back all year long.

The cabin is clean and has everything you might need for the week, and the surrounding community is amazing, with lots of fun for all ages. Be sure to check out slippery rock and grab a meal at The Weatherwood.

Jamie is wonderful. Communication is great and he is super accommodating.

We will be back next summer!

It was awesome! All the things we could ever need were there. Cute cabin, beautiful lot.

We all had a really good time. A little bummed we couldn't swim right at the cabin but just a quick boat ride to the beach or sandbar. Kayaks were great too! Thank you!

Lots of things to do!

  • 5 of 5

We have two boys and one of their friends came along - Jump Rock and Slippery Rock were great! Fishing, Paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming and the night we arrived had some of the best fireworks we've ever seen at Everbreeze!! Cornhole game, horseshoes and plenty of cards played with Grandma and Grandpa! Uncle Kurt brought his UTV up for a day and we got to test out the trails which begin at the end of the cul de sac!! Great neighbors too!

Loved the cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. The last night we had a storm with heavy winds that tipped over outdoor furniture and took down sign on side of house that had a rope on it and a few branches but othewise was perfect and would highly recommend

Scenic! Trails just steps from the property, ATV, Snowmobile or just to walk with the kids or the dogs. Much wildlife including bald eagles, swans, plenty of fish, turtles, frogs! Ice fishing and hunting are abundant up here! Slippery rock is a waterslide carved into the rocks which flows into the river, cliffs to jump off of and a beach all located across the pond. There are also a number of activities/festivities in the area including snowmobile races on the lake, chili cook offs, corn roasts, too many to mention! The property is located in the Nicollet National Forest, The faucet water is better than bottled water!
