Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a very restful, peaceful weekend in this beautiful location, living in a built up area has made us appreciate the tranquil peace and quiet of the countryside.

We were given such a warm welcome by the hosts and the accommodation was very clean and tidy and there was everything provided for us.

We would reccomend this charming holiday let for a break, we came away feeling refreshed as its away from the hustle of traffic and everday stress, see for yourselves.

Sandie and Derek provide excellent accomodation in the beautiful quiet valley of East Creech.

The three rooms provide everything two people need with the added pleasure of being able to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful view. We were warmly welcomed with many thoughtful additions provided including the cream tea on arrival. For us , who were based everyday in Kimmeridge Bay , we had a beautiful drive over the hill, but it is based close to many beautiful sites and walks if you wish to explore. You do need your own transport from the village. We hope to return and will recommend it highly to friends. Excellent to have a local host with a great knowledge of the local area.

Lovely cottage, well placed to enjoy Isle of Purbeck.

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was perfect for the two of us. It was beautifully furnished and immaculately clean, with lots to do outdoors in the near vicinity We enjoyed wonderful views (between the showers!) walking part of the coast path , a interesting guided walk at RSPB Arne, and a great day birdwatching Brownsea Island (via the ferry at Sandbanks). Wareham was worth a visit for a walk by the river and good tea shops. We ran out of time to see Corfe Castle, Blue pool, Lulworth Cove, Swanage and more of the coast path... We'd happily return.

A hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week here. A warm welcome and a Dorset cream tea awaited us. This is a wonderful place for peace and quiet. Whilst off the beaten track the cottage provided us with a wonderful place to recharge our batteries after a stressful year. Seeing the deer creeping out of the woods one evening and watching a fox run across the field in the twilight made my day. Wonderful beaches and walks are a short drive away. Highly reccomended.

A lovely well equipped cottage in a beautiful location. A warm and friendly welcome together with a cream tea made the start of our holiday. The cottage had everything we needed and is very comfortable.. We will definitely be back as there is still more to see and do. Thank you.

Location

Coast/Beach:

Worbarrow Bay and Ghost village of Tyneham is approx 4 miles away, Kimmeridge Bay with beach and fossil hunting is approx 6 miles away. Studland is an unspoilt village with a stunning expanse of sandy beach with National Trust shop and cafe. A toll ferry from Studland takes you across to Sandbanks.

Use of a car or rented vehicle is recommended, although Wareham railway station is approx 3½ miles away and the National Express coaches regularly pass through the area. Poole's channel port is 16 miles and there is a sea crossing from Weymouth to Jersey and Guernsey.

Distances:

East Creech itself is a quiet stone hamlet with a scattering of pretty cottages, duck pond and working farm where bread, milk and eggs are sold. Wareham, a Saxon town once raided by Vikings is found 3 miles away with tearooms, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. A market, farmers market, museum & and Dorsets oldest church with effigy of Lawrence of Arabia can be found here. Church Knowle, a pretty village 3miles away has the nearest pub/restaurant.

Further Details:

Corfe Castle village and Castle ruins dominates the Purbeck countryside. A National Trust shop and tearooms, old streets, shops and pretty stone cottages are found in this picturesque location. Watersports, Horse Riding, World famous Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World, National Trust cottages (Thomas Hardy and Lawrence of Arabia), Lulworth Cove, Castle and park or maybe a daytrip to Jersey or Guernsey from Weymouth could be enjoyed.
