Next to the Church of San Sebastian, we occupy a premier position at the highest point in old town Lagos. From our roof deck you can look down on the Plaza Gil Eanes, the very heart of Lagos, or out over the Atlantic. There is an uninterrupted view of Lagos, the beach and the undulating historic west wall. It is a short walk to the grand beach of Meia Praia or the more intimate cliff protected beach of Dona Ana. There is free parking near the Church or just outside the wall and we are a 12 mins walk from the train station and about 5 mins from the bus depot. We are a half block from an internet cafe and within sight of some of the best restaurants in Lagos, as well as several grocers. As for the bars, we are not so close that you can hear the noise, but near enough to walk the few mins home and watch the sun rise out of the Atlantic. They load up the Land Rover with surfboards right behind us and it's not 10 minutes to golf.

Holidays in Lagos
Eine schöne große Wohnung mit sehr guter Lage zur Altstadt . Innerhalb 10 min ist alles Erreichbar zu Fuß ... Yachthafen , Restaurants , Strand & Einkaufsläden , was man so braucht für den Urlaub ! Die Wohnung ist mit allen Ausgestattet & sauber ! Großes Plus ist die Waschmaschine , Geschirrspüler & die perfekte Dachterrasse ! So sollte Urlaub sein !!! Danke Madeleine
The location of the apartment was ideal, minutes from all the bars and restaurants....just perfect. Both terraces were amazing for soaking up the sun, particularly the roof top, very spacious with 360 degree views of the area.
The old town is lovely, plenty of charm and character with a great choice of places to eat and drink. The only slight downside was the noisy neighbour on the floor below, on a few occasions the sound carried up from the internal courtyard windows.
Overall though, a wonderful holiday and heartily recommended if you visit Lagos.
This is a super modern apartment. It's so close to the very centre of Lagos, yet the quietness of the location is perfect. The rooftop with nearly 360deg view is superb - many enjoyable hours were spent up there from where on one side you can look down to peek into pretty Praça Luís de Camões and on the other side view a panorama of the full length of Meia Praia and along the coast to Alvor and Portimão. The setting within this part of Lagos is lovely particularly with the 14-16th Century Church of Saint Sebastian just a few doors up the narrow street. If you thought you might be woken by the church bells, considerately they only chime from 9am to 11pm.
The apartment was smart, airy and clean and fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, iron etc. The side balcony was very useful and pleasant for spending time outside if you felt too tired to climb the stairs to the roof! The manager, Teresa was very endearing and helpful when we met her on arrival.
Next time we're in Lagos, this apartment will be first choice.

The accommodation was in a great location, In walking distance of beautiful beaches and good restaurants. I loved sitting on the veranda outside looking up at the San Sebastian Church close by and listening to the bells. The property was well maintained and has a good space on the roof terrace with incredible views of Lagos. Will be recommending to friends and family
The beach of Meia Praia is about a 10 min walk over the river via a nearby footbridge, or shorter via boat across the channel.The fort and town beach are a short walk down the promenade. The cliff beaches are easily accessed on foot across from the fire station, Dona Ana being the largest is a twenty minute walk. There are many little coves accessible by steps in the cliffs between town and the lighthouse at Ponta da Piedade. Many are serviced by restaurants.
Faro airport is well laid out and very organized. For less than ten euros you can taxi to the train station in a few mins. Eight trains run to Lagos a day, about an hour and 40 min trip, for about seven euros a person. The Lagos train station is right behind the Marina building, a short walk into town. Via the A22 Motorway Lagos is about an hours drive from Faro. Car hire is not necessary but is available by the day less than 5 mins walk, over past the petrol station.
Sagres and the end of the world is about a 20 min drive west of town. The coast north of Sagres is spectacular and rugged.
There is a little supermarket just next door and 2 larger ones a few mins walk. The nearest internet cafe is at the end of the block. There are several banks in the main plaza, along with many restaurants with English service. The Indian restaurants are all quite good but the best place to eat is all the local fish restaurants. The dolphin / grotto boat tours are a must see; check out the tour booths on the promenade along the river. There are charter yachts available as well as surfing and fishing excursions. The friendly guys at these booths can point you to almost any recreational activity you can imagine.
