Less than 5 mins walk, on proper pavements with streetlighting, to restaurants (including Moorish and Traditional Spanish), bars, supermarkets and pharmacy, but completely private sitting in 2000 square metres of land. Walking distance to 2 other villages with restaurants, shops, bars and banks. The beautiful beaches of Nerja, Torre del Mar and Algarrobo are within 20-25 mins drive. The house is accessed by tarmac road, so no need to rent a 4x4 vehicle. The house is well equipped and furnished and is maintained by a local British couple. The property is light and airy in the summer but cosy in the winter with a wood burning stove and electric heaters. Archez is a 1 hour drive from Malaga airport and 1.5 hours to Granada and 2.5 hours to Seville. The villages of Canillas de Albaida and Corumbella are within walking distance. The resorts of Nerja and Torre del Mar are half an hour away. Skiing in the Sierra Nevada is 2 hours drive and there are two 18 hole golf courses within easy drive.

Why Margaret and Brian McFadyen chose Árchez
After viewing 14 properties in 3 days, we fell in love with this one as soon as we came through the gates. The gardens and terraces are beautiful and the views are absolutely stunning. Because we are driving a lot at work we wanted to be within walking distance of at least 1 restaurant and 1 supermarket. We are lucky enough to be able to walk to 5 restaurants and 2 supermarkets in our own village and a similar number in the next village. I often travel to our villa alone and wanted to have somewhere that was private but not isolated. The real deciding factor though, was the warmth of the local people. Our village is a small Spanish community where the most valuable assets are family and friends.
What makes this Villa unique
The fact that the village is very self contained means that we don't always need to rent a car as we can buy everything that we need locally. If we want to take a trip to Granada, Seville etc we will rent a car, but if not, Maria, the local taxi driver, will collect us at the airport and take us back there at the end of our holiday. The majority of our returning guests do not rent a car now.

A Special Villa in a Wonderful Setting.
We have just returned from two weeks at La Casa de Flores. As previous guests have commented on, Margaret the owner was a pleasure to deal with and couldn’t have been more helpful. Everything was extremely well organised from start to finish.
The villa itself was exactly as described, and was in fact even better than expected. It has everything you would require, and was spotlessly clean. The outside area is surprisingly large, with many fruits and lovely plants and flowers. Again the pool was spotless, and very welcoming in the July heat!
The views from the villa looking down on Archez are terrific, Archez itself is a quaint and friendly place. A terrific place to have a drink or meal or as a base for visiting other villages etc in the area. We had a soft spot for Bar Avenida, just five minutes walk and enjoyed the vegan restaurant of Meson Mudejar. Great even for non veggies.
If it’s a quiet relaxing holiday you are looking for, this is the place!

I am glad that you found Árchez to be a friendly village, the local people are lovely and have been wonderful neighbours for us. The Bar Avenida is the heart of the village and we love it too. We have not tried the vegan restaurant yet as it was just preparing to open when we were last there in June but it is receiving very good reviews from our visitors even though they are predominately meat eaters. I am glad that you found our house and pool to be very clean, we have great property managers who deliver high standards, I will let them know that you were impressed by their work😊.
Fantastic villa in quiet location
Ideal location for a totally relaxing holiday. Fantastic pool and wonderful views from the seating areas. Nice sized bedrooms and bathroom. Fully equipped kitchen and comfy sofas.
We spent most of our time at the villa with a couple of days out in nearby Nerja and Cómpeta. The walk into the village is a short stroll down the hill and the 3 open bars/ restaurants are within 5 minutes walk. There is a 4th restaurant on the hill leading out to Canillas but you need to check that it is open before setting off.
The newly open vegan restaurant Meson Mudejar is highly recommended (we are not vegans but the food tastes exceptional and a must is the chickpea curry and the cheesecake!! ). If you prefer meat then go to the Venta el Curro at the bottom of the hill.

The location of the house makes it easy to get out and about on foot which was a deciding factor for us when we’re thinking of buying it. The local restaurants and bars are great. I think you were amongst the very first guests in the new vegan restaurant . It was just about to open when we had to return to Scotland, but early reports, including yours, are that the food is amazing. I am glad that you both had such a great holiday and I hope that you will visit again in the future
Clean and Comfortable in a Great Location
This villa was recommended to us by friends who stay here every year. We found it to be very clean and the garden is beautiful, the scent of jasmine and honeysuckle is amazing and the views from the terrace are amazing. The village is a few minutes walk from the villa and there are a few well stocked shops and well priced restaurants and bar. We hired a car for 4 days and visited a few places recommended by the owners, including Granada. The owners have great local knowledge as does the chap who came to clean the pool. Inside the villa is a real home from home with really comfortable furniture and everything that you need for a good holiday. We have already booked to return next year.

Beautiful house, amazing location
Casa de Flores is a perfect villa, beautifully located with stunning views over Archez and the surrounding countryside. Well-equipped kitchen, comfy sofas, good wifi and even a bit of English TV, should the weather not be ideal! Margaret, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful – we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Extremely clean with everything you need for a great stay.
The villa is amongst the best we have stayed in. Some villas have items missing that you may expect to have but in this villa everything we needed was there. The only down side is the steep hill from the village to the villa but it only takes 5 minutes to climb and you do get used to it. The height gained gives you a lovely view of the village and surrounding mountains.

The nearest beach is 15 kilometres away at Algorrobo and the beaches at Nerja, Torrox and Torre del Mar are within 30 minutes drive. All of the beaches have Blue Flag status.
Malaga airport is 55 kilometres away (1 hour driving) and Tarifa ferry port is 70km. Although the villa is within a very short walking distance of restaurants, bars supermarkets etc a car is recommended to explore the surrounding area. We know that some visitors prefer not to rent a car and whilst we cannot provide airport transfers ourselves, we can liaise with Maria,the local taxi driver to arrange airport transfers from and to Malaga airport for 70 euros each way. Maria is an excellent driver

Archez, Canillas de Albaida and Competa are a cluster of white villages featured in the Andalucian wine trail. The cluster provides a wide range of amenities including shops, supermarkets, banks, beauty parlours, fantastic selection of restaurants and bars, pharmacies and even internet cafes and a gym!. Each village has its own market day. There is horseriding, tennis and mountainbiking available locally, as well as winetasting in local bodegas. For museums witha difference try the wine museum or even the raisin museum!. Join in the street parties at the local fiesta days and weeks. the fiestas vary from village to village so you have always got a good chance of a party.
In the Autumn and Winter Archez is a walkers paradise with many superb walks starting from outside our front gates. We have walking guides of the area in our house but if you would like the company of an experienced local walker, we can supply contact details of a British walker who lives in Archez from November to April. Walks can be tailored to experience and fitness level.

Booking Notes: Please feel free to call us on the telephone numbers listed. A 25% non refundable deposit is required upon booking and the balance, which is non refundable. The balance is payable 45 days prior to arrival together with a security and good housekeeping deposit of £150. This security deposit will be refunded approx 1 week after the end of your holiday following return of the keys and subject to the property being left clean and undamaged. Visitors are advised to take appropriate insurance cover for cancellation as all monies once paid are non refundable unless we are able to re let the dates . We will provide you with written proof of your booking and amount paid to assist you if you need to make a cancellation claim against your travel insurance policy. We accept payment by personal cheque, bank transfer or PayPal via the secure paypal site. If paying by PayPal please add 4% to cost to account for paypal charges. Changeover Day: Access to the property is at 3pm and departure is 10.00am. Bookings in the peak season-July to end of Sept are from Sat to Sat and in multiples of 7 days but there is the potential for flexibility outwith these months dependant on other bookings. Notes on prices: Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds including utility costs, however the house and grounds are for the sole occupancy of the people advised to us on the original booking. If you wish to make any changes to your booking in terms of the number of people in your party or the ages of children travelling, please consult with us in advance. Breaks of 4 nights or more are available from Nov to March at a cost of £340 for 4 nights, £365 for 5 and £390 for 6. From Nov to March the house can be rented per month for £1260.00,no discounts are available on this price. In July and August a £50 discount is available for 2 people sharing for 2 weeks or more.
