The property is a two storey, three bedroomed townhouse on a gated, maintained complex with swimming pools (indoor & outdoor), tennis courts, spa and gym. It comfortably sleeps 6 plus an infant, and is in an excellent position, situated between the two outdoor swimming pools, and whilst each pool is only a two minute walk away, there is no pool noise audible at the property

Rooms: 3 bedrooms - 1 double and 2 twin, 2 bathrooms, lounge/diner, kitchen & laundry.

Outdoors: Ground floor patio and large first floor balcony with furniture and sun loungers.

General: Air conditioning, DVD player, Satellite TV. & Wi Fi connection.

Utilities: Dishwasher, oven & hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine & cooking utensils.

Other information: Almeria airport - 45 min Murcia airport - 90 min Alicante airport - 2 hours. All budget airlines fly into one or all of these airports, including BMI Baby, Easyjet, Thomsonfly, Jet2, Monarch, Ryanair. All routes are mainly motorway.

Finding the apartment is very straightforward from any of the airports, it is directly off the main motorway (A7/E15) that runs along the Mediterranean coastline

Car hire is recommended to appreciate the surrounding areas. There are several car hire companies at all the airports, Mo-Car, Arruga Crown are the local ones and all the usual big names are also available. Also we offer an airport collection service price dependant on the airport.

Market Days - These include Vera (Saturdays), Villaricos (Sunday) as well as other local towns on other days of the week.

Our duplex is situated in a quite part of the complex & yet still central for all the facilities on the complex. Our upper balcony takes the sun from early morning to early evening. Our lower patio offers sun or shade. The facilities within the duplex are designed to give you a relaxing holiday for the minimum of effort. Within the kitchen we have the facilities to make life easy, Fridge , freezer, microwave, oven & hob. A dish washer giving you more time to spend in the sun. The SPA is open from 1st October to 31st May, the heated pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi & gym provide a health way to finish off the day. Two excellent outdoor pools which are open from June to September. There are 2 paddle courts and a tennis court. There are 2 children's play areas adjacent to the paddle courts, while the children play their parents work off those unwanted pounds.

The apartment was clean with spacious rooms and a well equipped kitchen ideal for families, with a lovely upstairs terrace area where we enjoyed breakfast every morning. The apartment is situated in a gated community which felt very secure and about 20 minutes walk from the nearest beach Vera Playa. Malcom was very helpful giving us local information prior to our arrival which we found very useful given the fact this was our first vacation in southern Spain.

Local Area:

First off I should state that we stayed in January which is off season for Vera and so our experience will be completely different from the peak season in which my understanding from the locals is very busy (and very hot). The location is very central and allows quick and easy access to Vera (nearest Town), Villaricos (small fishing village), Garrucha (small costal town and port) and the beach. Also there are two supermarkets close by (Consume which is the nearest and Mecadona) offering a wide range of local products (great veg and fish) along with the usual supermarket fare (N.B. they close on Sundays and local holidays but not for siesta). We hired bikes and all these places could be accessed within 20 minutes and more impressively via well maintained cycle tracks. With a car travel times will be much less and of course with an increased range should you wish to explore more of the region. The area was very quite (remember off season) with pleasant temperatures ranging from 15 to 21 deg C during the day.

Over all both my wife and I were very impressed with the location and the apartment and would thoroughly recommend it for anybody wishing to escape a UK winter especially if you're a cyclist.

Bel appartement tout-confort

Nous sommes très contents de cette location, l'appartement est spacieux, très fonctionnel et confortable, avec tous les équipements dont on peut avoir besoin. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié l'écoute et le suivi du propriétaire qui a pu répondre de manière personnalisée à nos besoins (lit et barrière bébé par exemple...). La location a été très facile et fiable, et la description est conforme à la réalité. La résidence est de qualité et est très bien entretenue ; nous avons profité du spa ouvert en basse saison. Supers service et prestations !

Fantastic family break

We have just returned from Casa Wilson on a family holiday and would like to say what a great time we had.On arrival we were met by Dave and Anita with the keys, they were of a great help at any time day or night for any questions.The duplex is maintained to a very high standard and is very spacious,the complex facilities were also great and the kids enjoyed using them every day.There were bars and restaurants close by with plenty of variety and are children friendly.A car is recommended if you want to see all the great beaches but there is a reliable bus service close by.We are already working out dates for a return holiday.

Super Springl Holiday

We had 2 very enjoyable weeks here. the weather was super. The Spa,heated pool and sauna provided the relaxation we were looking for. We saw plenty of the surrounding area, miles of beautiful paved promenades leading to sandy beaches. Great Beach to swim from close by.The nearby promenade was a good place to stroll at any time of the day. We visited several restaurants and ta pas bars all the staff were very friendly and the food was lovely,The accommodation was excellent, beds comfortable,as were all the lounging areas inside and out,decorated and maintained to an excellent standard.All kitchen utensils,linen e.t.c. again been to an excellent standard, the whole Duplex been in spotless condition. The balcony area provided a great spot for sunbathing or dining alfresco the ground floor patio area providing a delightful shaded area.

Geographically we found Thalassa an excellent base from which to travel by car or use the local bus service, many of the charming local villages been in close proximity along with the more modern seaside resorts.

All in all an excellent Holiday in a Luxury accommodation which does what it says on the tin .

We hope to go again soon.

Beautiful relaxing family holiday

We revisited Casa Wilson in late may/ early June last year. We have previously visited the complex in late September/ early October and enjoyed the climate at that time of the year. We found the May / June visit just as enjoyable, the out door pool was open and the weather was ideal for our children’s fair complexion.

We planned this visit to be based on a self catering holiday for our extended family of seven with two senior members to keep order and then to babysit their grandchildren in the evenings. It worked very well; the duplex had the facilities we required for cooking. sleeping and a TV for the children’s entertainment.

The duplex has an upper balcony which takes the sun from early morning to late afternoon; from the lower patio we were able to take sun or shade. We found the complex had something for all ages, a relaxing and restful environment for the senior members, with the pools and indoor SPA for the energetic.

The local beach was beautiful, clean, plenty of room to play games, there are shower & toilet facilities ever 250 meters along the beach, with a choice of snack bars/ restaurants within easy reach.

We were pleased we hired a car, even for the local beaches, it allowed us to take all the gear the family needed to bathe or play. It also allowed us to visit other beautiful beaches along the coast line at Mojacar Playa, San Jaun & Garrucha.

We did visit a few of the local restaurants which were recommended in the owners hand book and found they all offered good food .

It’s a great place to spend a holiday and we hope to visit this area again soon.

Great Christmas holiday

We have spent a week as a family with two kids aged 11, and we have enjoyed it very much.

Despite arriving late on Christmas day after driving from Barcelona, Eileen was there waiting for us with the keys on her hands.

She showed us the apartment which was very cosy, and felling as home.

The rooms are large and bright, fully equipped kitchen with everything that we needed, and a sitting/dining area with a nice layout.

The apartment is in a great location, with distant sea view, very nice, clean with good facilities and a lovely large balcony area.

The complex was very secure with superb facilities. Indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam room, gym equipment, tennis court and children's playground.

It's also a few minutes away on a car from good supermarkets and the local bars and restaurants.

We spent most of our time visiting nearby (or further away) cities like Mojacar, Carrucha - a must for everyone-, Cabo Di Gata, Almeria, Granada, Mini Holywood (Tabernas).

Even while it was winter the weather was sunny (apart from one day) and warm.

It was the first time in this property, but hopefully not the last.

We hope to return again in the future, and we recommend it to everyone

- 1.5km from the closest blue flag beach which stretches for 8km of golden sand, and the surrounding towns and villages offer a wide range of bars and restaurants.

- A water park is 5 min away and a Go-Kart track 10 min away.

- Vera town has a beautiful, old square and a bullring. It is typically Spanish with a bustling local market.

- The fishing village of Garrucha is 5kms away. It has a lovely beach and tree-lined promenade. It is famous for its seafood restaurants serving fish caught by local fishermen.

- The village of Mojacar sits at the top of a mountain overlooking the sea. It is a 'must see' with narrow cobbled streets and many restaurants.

- Mojacar Playa has 6 km of beautiful of sandy beaches. This is a lively area with many bars, restaurants and shops.

- A drive up the coast will take to San Juan los Terreros with many sandy beaches along the way. Once there you will find 2 km of sandy beaches, a beautiful bay ideal for family bathing with several restaurants in the area.

- A drive down the coast road takes you to Carboneras over the hills with steep gradients giving magnificent views of the area. Market day in Carboneras is Thursday. Follow the coast road south & rise into the heart of the Caba de Gata national park then on to the old town of San Jose.

- Fort Bravo is situated in the hills to the south west, Famous as the location for many of the spaghetti western films. You can dress up in western outfits, ride in the stage coaches or on the horses.

- Granada is only a 2 hour drive from Vera.

-Travel inland to the local towns of Zurgena, then Al Box, ( market on Wednesday ), onto Albanchez & Lubrin. Then over the hills to Bedar & the beautiful views of the Mediterranean coast line of Majacar, Garrucha & Vera Playa


There are 4 top class 18 hole courses within easy reach.

Marina Golf opened in 2000, between Garrucha & Mojacar. The course includes a driving range, club house, a putting green & restaurant.

- Desert Springs, the course is situated on the hill top above Cuevas del Almanzora. Designed by Peter McEvoy, the only desert style course in Europe.

- Playa Macenas, officially opened in2008. It is situated just off the beach,140 hectares with almost 1km of coast line. On the edge of the Caba de Gata national park.

- El Cortijo Grande, discretely hidden in a beautiful valley at the foothills of Sierra Cabrera.


- Although a car is not essential it is recommended to allow you to visit & appreciate the whole area.

- Al Andalus Car HIre is a local company which offers a good service with reliable cars.

- Do You Spain, an internet based company appointed by Spanish hire companies to promote their range of vehicles.

- Carrantals, another internet based company appointed by international hire companies to promote their range of vehicles.
