Excellent and cosy place with great hosts

  • 5 of 5

Its a great place to stay in. tucked away in the quite and scenic route to Edinburgh.

We reached there during Christmas time in the peak of the snow period, but the stay was amazing. Denise had taken care of all the details. The cottage is very well maintained.

It is relative close to Edinburgh and most other tourist places.

We would definitely be returning int he summer to experience the sunnier side of Scotland

Owner's Response: We have tried to provide the kind of accommodation that we would like to stay in ourselves which means that prospective visitors can transfer from their home to a comfortable and well equipped holiday home. We welcome any comments from our visitors which may help to make their stay even better. Our situation next to the River Tweed provides a beautiful location just one mile from the A701 which is the scenic route to Edinburgh from the M74 (M6). We would love to welcome you to our holiday apartment.

Fantastic apartment and location

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is really quite special . Very peaceful location. It was spotlessly clean and lots of nice little extra touches. We were very warmly welcomed by Denise and the hospitality tray was greatly appreciated. My grandson loved the football table and table tennis . The apartment was warm and cosy and the log burner was great too. Kitchen is very well equipped . The beds were very comfortable and the bedding is of excellent quality. I would strongly recommend this fantastic apartment to anyone looking for somewhere special for a break.

Beautiful stay

  • 5 of 5

A well maintained property away from the busy hustle by river Tweed. Beautifully maimed property. Ideal for people who are looking for a calm and quiet break. Thanks to the owner and their hospitality who made us comfortable throughout the stay.

Wow!,what an amazing property

  • 5 of 5

This property is definitely a hidden gem. We had a fantastic time with our 2 children. The apartment is huge and very well maintained. It is a home away from home. Denise and Jim certainly went above and beyond to ensure that we had provisions from the moment we arrived. The bread, coffee, tea, milk, cereals, jam etc were very welcomed by us all. The apartment is a perfect base to explore Scotland and the surrounding area is stunningly beautiful. We would definitely return.

Nice Stay

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is very nice and comfortable in a beautiful location. We have a 7 year old son and Merlindale is definitely suitable for children. A very peaceful area but lots of things to do nearby. We can recommend Dawyck Gardens & Traquair House.

Beautiful accommodations and lovely host

  • 5 of 5

Merlindale was a wonderfully appointed apartment in a great location to explore the Scottish Border area. Close to Edinburgh, Roslyn Castle, Glasgow, and the smaller quaint towns of Peebles, Jedburgh, and Hawick. The apartment has all the modern amenities and is well decorated in a lovely location. Denise has provided lots of information for visitors and, as others have commented, the welcome pack and firewood are truly a wonderful plus! She even waited up for our very late arrival. Our family had a great time and would highly recommend Merlindale.
