Merlindale Holiday Apartment is part of a Victorian Country House set in 16 acres of beautiful parkland by the River Tweed. It has its own entrance and parking space and is very quiet and peaceful in the middle of stunning countryside. It has just been upgraded and refurbished to a very high standard and has been awarded a 5 star classification grade from the Scottish Tourist Board. It sleeps 4 very comfortably and consists of, one double bedroom with king size bed, one twin room, large lounge with log burning stove and dining area, well equipped kitchen with dining area and separate utility room and two bathrooms. The hall is large and has a table tennis table available for use of guests. All linen is provided together with central heating, hot water, logs and toiletries (Molton Brown) and a welcome pack of food containing freshly baked bread, butter, tea, coffee, milk, jams, cereals, free range eggs and Border biscuits.

Reviews.: We have been open since the 2007 season but the guests we have had have ranged from couples to families. The quality of the accommodation has been praised, the location which is just beautiful has been admired, the grounds and privacy have also been acclaimed.

Merlindale Holiday Apartment is situated in the scenic countryside of the Borders by the banks of the River Tweed. The apartment is part of a traditional Victorian country house in sixteen acres of grounds,it is self-contained with a separate entrance and plenty of parking space. It is ideal for a romantic hideaway for a couple yet can take 4 guests comfortably if required. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful yet only 40 minutes from Edinburgh by car, giving access to all the capital can offer. The nearest village is 2 miles away and Peebles is about 9 miles, it takes approximately 30 minutes from the M74 at Moffat. There are many attractions in the area to suit all tastes; country houses, gardens, castles, lochs and mountain bike trails. Walking, fishing, cycling can all be done from the door of the apartment. Stobo Castle Health Spa is 3 miles away which operates non-residential beauty days.

Other Activities: Sight- seeing - castles, historic houses, gardens, lochs.

Golf: There are many golf courses close by and the Borders do a special offer which allows you to play at a different course each day. We are also within easy reach of St Andrews for a special day out.

Cycling- we are within easy reach of Glentress for the cycling trails of the Borders.

Lovely, spacious apartment with everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Very spacious and beautifully furnished apartment set in a lovely garden next to the Tweed River. We had a lovely relaxing stay and it is a great base to explore the villages and places of interest in the surrounding valleys. The host was very welcoming and helpful which helped make our stay wonderful.

Roomy, comfortable accomodation

Very large, homey ground floor apartment that was well equipped with everything we could possibly need. Since it's located a few miles from grocery stores, Denise provided a welcome pack that was almost unbelievable! Enough for a couple of light meals plus snacks. Very quiet relaxing rural setting. Denise took the time to give us lots of suggestions for things to see, places to explore and good places to eat - she's so hospitable. Definitely enjoyed our stay, and loved the beautiful area around Merlindale. We highly recommend the Laurel Bank Tearoom in Broughton.

Lovely location

Very clean, spacious, everything you need is there. Enjoy the big kitchen and the evening fire. sit by the river and relax. Lovely countryside location with peaceful grounds. Ask Denise for direct sales or get good GPS, not Google.

Great stay in the Tweed Valley

The apartment was huge and extremely well equipped for our three night stay. We loved that Denise provided some basic foodstuffs which served us very nicely. We are on an extended vacation so the clothes washer and drying facilities were great. We also loved the Peebles area.

Lovely home stay in a terrific part of Scotland

My husband and I spent 6 nights at Merlindale and had a wonderful stay. There is plenty to do in the area within a couple of hours drive. The home itself is very comfortable with many thoughtful details. Denise is a warm, friendly host with excellent advice to make your stay a terrific one.
