The property is situated on a headland in Cala Ferrera between two sandy beaches. Although the apartment is in a quiet location the shops and bars of Cala Ferrera are very close by (1 minute walk). The beautiful town of Cala D'or is a 10 minute walk away where you can wander around paved areas amongst bars and restaurants undisturbed by cars. There is a stunning marina for boat enthusiasts and Val D'or golf course is just a 10 minute car journey away. Buses and coach trips can be arranged locally and leave every day to take you to Palma, the local markets, the water parks and other places of interest. Local sightseeing trips by boat leave very close by.

Hello, I am a mother of two aged 16 and 18. We love taking our holidays in Cala D'Or and have done since the children were little.

Buying the apartment in the location it is in was one of the best things I have ever done.

Why Sharon chose Santanyí

I have been going to this area for 40 years and can honestly say it is the most picturesque part of the island. The coves are beautiful and the view from the swimming pool over looking the bay never ceases to amaze me even after all these years.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is fully equipped and stays cool in the summer as the apartments were built in the 1970's and are of solid construction. We benefit from a garden with views of the sea. Spanish law has now stated that nothing can be built so close to the sea anymore so we are very luck to own an apartment on a complex that is front line - have a look at the photos to see.

Notes on accommodation: This property is ideal for children as it is ground floor with a garden. The garden is not gated so children will need supervision in this area and in the pool area as no lifeguard is present. Only Couples preferred but families accepted. Sorry No Pets. Apartment is no smoking, however smoking is welcome outside on the terrace. Outside: Nice garden area with view of sea, patio, table and chairs and loungers. Shared pool with fantastic views of the sea. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property is cleaned and clean linen and towels are provided for your arrival and at the end of the first week for a 2 week stay. Please bring your own beach towels as these are not provided.

Wonderful holiday

Great location with a bit of a sea view from the patio. Did a lot of snorkelling in the bay just below the resort's pool. Very comfortable apartment with everything you could need. Big enough for our family of 4. (2 adults and 2 teenagers) but we were out all day. Was very hot so very greatful for the fans in the lounge and bedroom. Beds and sleeper couch (which is very large and big enough for my husband who is 6ft2 and I to sleep very well ) very comfortable. Easy walking distance from shops and restaurants. Can recommend Tipy Tapas for Tapas. As it was our first time in Mallorca we didn't know what to expect but we were presently surprised. Hired a car and went to beaches outside Cala D'or as the resort was very crowded. Found lovely beaches in Mondragó national park with fantastic snorkelling. Had a fantastic week and would recommend to anyone who would like a relaxing holiday in the sun. Thank you

Fantastic holiday in lovely family apartment in amazing location

We have just returned from a brilliant holiday in this lovely family apartment, 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 6. The apartment itself is very spacious and comfortable. The twin beds in the bedroom are so comfortable, my husband said comfier than our mattress at home (and he is like the Princess and the Pea!). Me and youngest slept on bed settee, that was so comfy too, looked brand new, Ikea sofa bed, we loved it so much we'd like one at home, so easy to convert, all spotless bedding, great sleeps (very peaceful, no night time noise, or daytime for that matter).

Lovely big shower cubicle, safe in the wardrobe for valuables.

You can get free WiFi by the reception which is right by the apartment, get the code from Rosa in reception.

There are 2 Spar type supermarkets and a vegetarian restaurant 30 seconds walk away, then at the end of the road there are shops, restaurants and bars galore, all good for families.

There is a bigger Suma supermarket less than 10 minutes walk (go up road from apartments, to the right of Carabel bar, first left and carry on up, beautiful fresh fish counter, decent bottle of wine 3 euros! And anything else you might need for meals if you don't go out every night. Most nights we would make tea and then get kids to settle down with a good Dvd while we relaxed with a drink!

The most amazing thing is the location, you can see the sea from the patio, so relaxing.

The pool isn't huge but well big enough for a dip, kids loved it.

Down the steps from the pool you can get into the sea and it's just like a massive swimming pool, it's in a bay and we would all swim up to the beach, the kids would have a play and then we'd swim back, lots of people having fun on their lilos etc.

A few minutes walk away in the bay there's a windsurf centre, husband and kids got a paddle board, 10 euros for an hour, great value and great fun.

The view from the pool/rocks is absolutely beautiful.

Any queries I had while we were there, I just texted Sharon, owner of the apartment, and she replied straight away and was so helpful.

Thank you very much Sharon and Andy, we had a great time, no one wanted to come home (even husband who was a bit mad when I booked it without telling him!!), we'd all go back in a flash x

Very disappointing. We left early.

Bedroom dampμsty, de-humidifier in the corner.

Beds only had a thin sheet∋ghts were chilly, extra blankets in the wardrobe, but these were musty&damp so we opted to be clean but cold.

The mattresses were terrible, I could feel the springs against the material just by laying my hands on there.

Bathroom had a large water stain on the ceiling, with mould growing on it.

TV is an old computer monitor, too small to see anything&the sound so distorted it was inaudible. Being active, we seldom watch TV on holiday, but it's nice to have the choice.

After our second night of little sleep we decided to drive the north of the island. After the trip we were a couple of hours drive from the apartment&tired, so found a hotel to stay the night.

The bed was comfy, no damp, they even had a real TV that you could hear.

At the apartment the next day we felt we would not be able to enjoy the rest of our stay where we were. Fortunately we are in a position to afford to book somewhere else. We found a nice hotel 5 mins from the apartment, cleaned up and left.

We travel extensively, and have stayed in everything from hostels in South Africa, to 5 star hotels in Europe. We have never felt compelled to leave a bad review. But the way in which the owner dealt with these issues when we contacted her has prompted me to share our experience.

I sent an email to say we’d left 3 days early because of the damp and the mattresses&asked for a partial refund. She refused any refund&denied knowledge of any damp. I mentioned the de-humidifier, she ignored my comment&went on to tell me that people had commented on how comfy the mattresses were. After going round in circles we were offered the chance to meet her ‘agent’ (whom I understand is a friend of the owners that lives on the island) to discuss the issues we’d mentioned. We declined, explaining this was supposed to be a relaxing holiday for us, we had already left at this point&did not wish to go back and have another futile discussion. Before the holiday the owner agreed to give us a discount of £20, this didn't turn up before we left, it turned up over 2 weeks after we got home (after I had raised a complaint with Owners Direct) The owner said I would not be able to leave a review&that the matter had been closed by Owners Direct. Both of these claims were untrue.

I have kept all emails to confirm this is an honest and true version of events.

Owner's Response: I was promised by Owners Direct this would be taken down. As the client said that if I didn't pay him a certain amount of money he would seek me out on every website he could find and leave bad reviews. His claims are totally unfounded. The beds are comfortable. There is no damp in the apartment. We have a dehumidifier as the summer can be humid. The TV is a TV with a remote control. I have agents who work for me in Mallorca to look after my clients and ensure the apartment is maintained, clean and there is fresh linen for every guest. The guest refused to meet the agents so resolve his issues which in my mind only proves that there were not any issues to be resolved. The agents are not friends they work for me and I pay for their services. I cannot begin to explain the problems I have had with this client. I did return the overpayment of £20 to the client by cheque. This was because I gave him an initial discount but the website wouldn't let me alter the price after he booked. I have never in my ten years of owning the apartment encountered someone so determined to destroy my business even after I tried to appeal to his better nature. You are at liberty to believe him but I would like to assure you all that the apartment is fantastic for a great holiday in Mallorca. Happy Holidays Everyone. Sharon - Owner.

Tolle Lage, tolles Apartment

Obwohl die Apartmentanlage sich in dem eher touristischen Teil von Cala D´Dor/Cala Ferrera befindet, ist die Anlage Ferrera Park sehr ruhig gelegen. Sie ist nur für deren Bewohner zugänglich, was sehr angenehm ist und Ruhe in die Anlage bringt. Sie liegt direkt am Meer. Von der Steilküste aus kann man über Leitern ins Wasser gehen. Mehrere Strände und kleine Buchten sind zu Fuß zu erreichen.

In dem Apartment haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist gemütlich eingerichtet und hat alles was man braucht. Toll fanden wir auch, dass es Liegen gab, die man mit zum Strand nehmen konnte. Schon morgens beim Frühstück haben wir von der Terrasse den seitlichen Blick aufs Meer genossen.

Wir hatten uns ein Auto gemietet. Das ist aber nicht unbedingt erforderlich, denn in Cala Ferrera und Cala D´Or gibt es eigentlich alles was man braucht. Viele Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Restaurants, Minigolfanlagen, Surfmöglichkeiten, Funparks für Kinder uvm..

Situation géographique parfaite.

Dans résidence calme de standing acceptable , l'appartement sent un peu l'humidité, les lits restent acceptables pour des vacanciers légers ( c'était notre cas), le confort est sommaire ( télé satellite avec programmes en différé, micro chaine hifi d'un autre temps, un accès au wifi de la résidence avec portée faible) . En revanche c'est spacieux , la terrasse en rdc est bien cool, il y a de quoi cuisiner . Le plongeon du matin ds la mer ou la piscine ainsi que les balades et découvertes sur cette île magnifique font très vite oublier le confort relatif de cet appartement dans lequel nous avons passé peu de temps. Je vais sans hésiter informer les réseaux que vous avez tenté ce jour de faire pression sur moi via un message automatique dans le but de me faire modifier mon appréciation. Ne vous avisez plus de générer un message automatique dans ce but précis. Soyez certains que je n'hésiterai pas à étayer mes propos par des photos de cet appartement.

Owner's Response: I am very confused that the guest has said I have contacted him to change his review. I have not sent him any messages asking him to change it. I have only just read it and put it into google translate. I even got him his deposit back early as he was concerned about it. I have very positive reviews on other booking sites. Unfotunately a week before his holiday upstairs flooded and our ceiling came down in the bathroom. The insurance were in the process of repairing it. I did warn him before he went that it had happened. It was either that or cancel his holiday which I couldn't comtemplate at such a late stage. The smell of damp was probably from the leak upstairs which has now been repaired. The ceiling has been repaired and should all now be ok. I am going myself on a week so will investigate any problems and rectify them.

Travel:

The Islands' Airport is Palma which is a 30-45 minute car journey from the apartment. You can either hire a car or take a taxi the choice is all yours. Once at the apartment a car is not essential as you can walk to local areas or get a bus, coach or taxi to go further afield. If you like to explore and plan your own trips then a car would be an advantage. For those hiring a car we do have a designated parking space.

Distances:

Cala Ferrera is right on your doorstep with a mini supermarket and shops and bars. The town of Cala D'or is a 10 minute walk where you will find banks, shops, restaurants, chemist, doctors and a large supermarket.
