Why Matt Hail chose Galloway Hills

We purchased this beautiful property as an investment in October of 2015. It's way more than we need, and we have no children, so we're offering it as a vacation rental.

What makes this house unique

An oasis of beauty on the western slopes of the Tetons

  • 5 of 5

What an incredible beautiful property in Tetonia! 10 family and friends recently stayed 5 days & the experience was awesome. Plenty of room, wonderful great room on the main floor, it was such a great room for us to gather for food and fun. Amazing windows, kitchen & fireplace. We were extremely lucky to be here during one of biggest snow storms in recent memory, so the entire landscape morphed into a winter wonder land. Only 25 minutes to the top of Grand Targhee too. (Ok, got to rub it in to any skiers out there, 52 inches of powder that weekend!). The hot tub on the deck is great, the property is surrounded by trees and very private. We had fox, deer and very fat jay birds visit us! Matt the owner is an incredible down to earth person. Extremely friendly and responsive to any inquires our group made. This place would rock in the summer & I’m plannng on a summer return for sure! Would refer this to ANYONE who wants an affordable Teton area experience.

Amazing, relaxing, perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We had the perfect stay. 3 families (6 adults, 5 kids- room enough for another family!)

The house was clean, comfortable, well equipped-seriously everything we needed, it was there! Plenty of room for kids to run around. Kitchen was great and well equipped (only recommendation- plastic cups for kids!) we cooked several meals and enjoyed the beautiful view. The owner lives on the property and we never even noticed him there, he was very great and responsive to our requests. The house is exactly 30 minutes to Grand Targhee and to Victor. About 15 to driggs. We went into town and skiing several times. The house is remote but it was perfect and secluded and so relaxing! We will rent the house again. Thanks for everything!

Awesome vacation house!

  • 5 of 5

We (a group of 11 adults) were really enjoying our stay in Matt's house. It's incredibly bright, sunny, and huge! It was very clean and taken good care too. There was enough room for everybody. The main living room was an absolute treasure with its huge windows, fireplace, big tv, and nice decor. The kitchen was well-equipped, and we had everything we needed (and even more). The hot tub was a very pleasant addition, especially after days on the slopes. Matt himself is a friendly, nice and patient host. We loved to spend some time with him and his 3 dogs. It's a 30 minutes drive to Grand Targhee, 1 hour - to Jackson Hole, and 2 hours - to West Yellowstone entrance. When I booked the house I thought it'd be pretty far, but we spent 5 days on the slopes and 1 day in Yellowstone and I had to say it's really close to everything. Maybe because of the beautiful nature around, or the air, or some magic in Wyoming, you just didn't pay attention to the time.

To summarize, I highly recommend to rent this house, you'll not be disappointed. Thank you again, Matt!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this house. The owner was amazing and let us borrow 3 sleds for the kids. I dare say the sleds were the biggest hit! The hot tub was another delight. The house was amazing and better than listed.

Quiet peaceful escape!

  • 5 of 5

Property is as described and photos are accurate. (Note the fireplace is gas and not wood burning, if it matters to you). Property was extremely quiet and relaxing. We only used the master bedroom with a king bed which is high off the ground (steps to get in and out) the bed was a little too firm for us but we still slept great! As another reviewer mentioned, the owner, Matt does live on site-above the garage. There is a double door in the master bedroom that goes to the owners quarters above the garage. This seemed odd and a little uncomfortable to us at first but we never had any problems and never heard the owners. Matt gave us our privacy and was quick to reply when we had an issue connecting to WiFi. Wi fi and cellular phones (Verizon) worked well at the cabin. The owner does have nice dogs that came to visit a few times. House was well equipped with everything we needed. Would highly recommend and will consider staying here again next time we are in the area.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. I just want to clarify that there's a "buffer" room between the main house and my apartment. I also pile a bunch of boxes against the door to to help block any sound.
