This apartment is very spacious with a very large North West facing sun terrace, furnished and equipped for your every need to enjoy a relaxing drink while watching the sunset, with a private shared swimming pool and ample free 'on street' parking.

Why Paul Dawkes chose Portimão

After an holiday in Alvor with my partner and our children, we fell in love with the place, we visited many other resorts on the Western Algarve eg; - Praia da Rocha, Lagos, Silves, Vilamoura and Albufeira. But found Alvor is still a part of real Portugal, with it's friendly residents it's a place where you can experience a small piece of Portuguese life and we knew this was the location where we wanted to invest in a property. we were lucky to find a beautiful apartment in Ma Partilha which is a pleasurable 5 minute drive to Alvor.

What makes this apartment unique

Our ground floor apartment sits in a splendid complex with a private pool exclusively for the use of 6 apartments only. With views to a lovely outside area with large lawned spaces, plants and trees.

It has a North west facing sun terrace, the largest one in the complex which is fortunate to capture the sun all day. As it is only a short drive into Alvor (or a taxi approx 5 euros) there you can experience the old harbour which oozes charm with the local fishermen, superb restaurants and marvelous sea food, or spend the day on the long sanded beach that has excellent facilities and activities. The night life offers a fantastic choice of restaurants, clubs and bars. There is so much you can do in Alvor it truly is a beautiful place to holiday.

Having stayed at this apartment for 3½ months, from January to April 2018, we can say that it provided comfortable and spacious accommodation for us all. Whilst the weather was not always kind to us, it would have been worse if we stayed at home, in Alvor we still had warm weather and blue skies most days. Everything that you need is provided to cook and live well. Very fast internet and loads of English TV channels. It is clean and well furnished. The extremely large patio has plenty of outside furniture and even a bar-b-que provided. Very clean swimming pool just 10 steps away! When the sun comes around, it is ideal for sunbathing, yet retaining shady corners. Children's playground next door with plenty of park to run around in.

It is within walking distance of a dangerously good patisserie and a piri-piri chicken restaurant. Alvor itself is a lovely friendly place with fantastic beaches and restaurants. We will be back.

Notes on accommodation: Main rooms are air-conditioned meeting your time of year requirements and electric panel heaters , cots and high chairs are available upon your request. A safety deposit box is located within the apartment, hairdryer and a small selection of books and dvds are provided. A welcome pack can be arranged if requested. Outside: The complex has a private shared swimming pool / outside shower. This apartment also as an added advantage as it overlooks the childrens play area which enables you to relax on the terrace or around the pool area whilst the children are playing, the entire play area is of an exceptional standard. All communion areas are regularly maintained ensuring a clean and safe environment. Lighting at night is sufficient and outside lamps that are near and on the complex are checked & Maintained regularly. Utility Room: Washing machine in storage cupboard on terrace . Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Fresh linen and bath/hand towels are all included in rental, beach towels available upon request. Apartment is cleaned and beds laid up ready for your stay. Extra cleans available on requested (chargeable extra) Other: The North West facing terrace is the largest on the complex, providing exceptional space overlooking the gardens which contain the newly refurbished children's play area. Also quipped with patio table & 6 chairs, 4/6 sun loungers, BBQ, Paddeling pool available on request.

Fantastic and well maintained property

Never usually leave reviews but enjoyed it that much I wanted to make an effort. Big thank you to Paul for letting us stay in his property, I can't explain how much it exceeded our expectations, so spacious, well kept and relaxing. Also a huge huge huge thank you to Sue and Stuart for everything from meeting with the keys, showing us round, booking us a return taxi and giving us the faith that we could call you anytime. Ma Partilha is situated in between the most stunning beaches in Algarve . Alvor beach is one of the longest , sandiest and most attractive beaches in Europe and only a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk from apartment , popular with wind surfers and good for other water sports too. Then there is Praia Da Rocha which is a huge beach right in front of Praia Da Rocha's seafront. All beaches are well maintained, most have beach front restaurants/cafes and toilet facilities, sunbeds/parasols for hire.


It is approx. 45 minute drive from Faro airport. Although not essential for the local scene , car hire is advisable to explore the region more fully as there is so much to see and do in the Algarve. Transfers and car hire can be arranged if required.


Local restaurants within 10 mins walk. (Big Reds) is a popular steak house with very reasonable prices and is literally at the top of the road. Around the corner is a high class Mediterranean restaurant with superb outdoor setting. Also there is an internet cafe, paper shop and hair salon on the complex. Alvor Town is a 20 - 25 min walk or a 5 min drive and boasts of a great selection of buzzing restaurants, cafes, bars and shops to suit all ages. Portimao is 4km and Praia Da Rocha 6km.

Further Details:

Water sports like Jet skiing are available on the beach and several water parks are available to visit like , Aqualand , slide and splash water park which is 15km away and Zoo Marina is 20km .

And just a short drive away you can go walking , hiking or mountain biking in the Monique Mountains . Also to visit in Pera is the largest sand sculpture display in the world , this is a must , truly fantastic to visit at night . In addition to local activities mentioned above you will find there are many Excursions to join , for example: caves along the coast , off shore fishing , or perhaps a trip to the castles .

Exploring the coastline on foot , hired bicycle or car is very satisfying no-matter what age you are .

Both Alvor and Portimao have shops , banks and restaurants and you have the Modelo commercial centre that is an easy 5 minute drive , this is a fantastic shopping complex providing a multitude of shops , supermarket , chemist , food outlets and much more , it even houses a 10 screen cinema - you can also obtain tickets to certain Parks and Excursions at discount prices.
