About Sharon MEGRET

Sharon and Gregoire Megret have been living in Burgundy for many years and undertaken several renovation projects. They are proud to offer The Barn (one of three holiday properties they own) for holiday accommodation. Living and working in Burgundy for many years along with their two daughters.

Sharon MEGRET purchased this barn in 2004

Why Sharon MEGRET chose Frôlois

We feel this property offers everything needed for a comfortable 'Home away from home' holiday. When we are looking for a holiday house to use for our family, we look for value for money and above all comfort, and we believe this offers both. Frolois is a superb base for exploring the region and peaceful enough for relaxing and enjoying the view.

What makes this barn unique

We feel The Barn offers stylish interiors and comfort without costing the earth. This peaceful village has picturesque charm with stunning views. Hours can be spent taking in the beautiful surroundings.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We've just had an amazing stay here at the Barn! Thank you so much, Sharon & co for making it so special - every little detail.......the decor, the welcome package, the lovely toiletries. Oh and the Boeuf Bourguignone you cooked for us was just divine! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

P.S. We would love to come back for a weeks trip next time. Pack light if you have children as everything we needed for our 18 month old son was thought of for us. Truly a treat!

Fantastic house and exceptional host

  • 5 of 5

My husband, me and my and in-laws stayed at The Barn for a week and had a great time. Sharon is a lovely host. She lives next door and is warm and generous without ever being intrusive. Her cooking is delicious and a great value so definitely take advantage of her offer to provide meals for your group. She also helped us find a wine for we wanted to go on and was very gracious when I broke a dish.

The house is well appointed with everything you could need and a lot of nice-to-haves, like a roll of paper towels, Tupperware for refrigerator leftovers, plastic wrap and foil and hotel-size toiletries in each bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the magical duvet was like sleeping under a cloud. The outdoor space is nice, too. We really enjoyed al fresco dining every night.

Ned, their cat, is super friendly and it was the highlight of each day when he came by for a cuddle and to say hi.

We had a fantastic time and there is nothing bad to say about the visit, the house, the location or our hosts. We had a wonderful time.

One tip to naive travelers like us: there is another Frolois near Nancy. Make sure you don’t buy train tickets to the wrong town like we did!!!! (Go to Frôlois, not Frolois!!!)

Great barn in a quiet area

  • 5 of 5

Lovely well equipped converted barn, although the only thing missing for us was a dishwasher.

Really comfy beds with nice linen and powerful hot showers.

Loved the quiet area but a short drive to get supplies and slightly further to the bigger town of Dijon.

Sharon is great host with helpful tips, particularly for our running routes! Was a massive help that she did the shopping prior to our arrival.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. It was great to meet you all (again, right!?). I am always happy to do a shop prior to our guests arrival, and this was particularly useful for this group as they arrived on Easter Sunday (shops closed) and the following day was a bank holiday (shops closed again). There was no worries for them knowing they had a well stocked fridge without the need to scour the region for an open supermarket. They can be elusive on bank holidays. We have thought about adding a dishwasher to The Barn. It would mean loosing a cupboard or the drawers, however, perhaps it is now time make this change. I am pleased you enjoyed exploring the area. Burgundy is beautiful in the Spring, and well worth coming to early in the year before it gets busy. As mentioned, it was lovely to meet your group and we look forward to welcoming you back again one day. Keep on running!

Better than ALL the Gites I have ever stayed in!

  • 5 of 5

A fabulous house far superior than any Gite I have stayed in before. We were blessed with stunning autumnal weather, contributing to a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back.

Lovely house tucked away in a beautiful valley

  • 5 of 5

We (2 couples) have just come back from a week's stay, in late September, at the Barn. We used the house as a base to cycle in the region, and the house suited us perfectly. Rides were started from the house (a decent amount of climbing, either leaving or returning), or by driving to a start point. For flatter routes the Canal de Bourgogne was ideal, though we did go further to cycle a loop taking in Noyers and another along the Route du Cremant. It's a great way of seeing the area, roads are virtually empty, the views are great and the wildlife is spectacular! On return to the house each day we had 2 bedrooms, both with en suite facilities, a well appointed kitchen with a great washing machine for all that cycling gear, a decent cooker and a nice place to relax both inside and out. Sharon was very helpful and friendly but unobtrusive, though sadly I never got around to doing the run route she suggested even though it sounded great! I hope that your half marathon goes well!
