We have been married for over 25 years, have 3 children, and two grandsons. We live in a village in North Yorkshire England. I enjoy fishing especially out at sea on the boats, golfing and being out doors as much as possible. Alison enjoys swimming, eating out, and watching Leeds Utd, her favourite football team. We both enjoy holidaying abroad especially in Portugal and Greece.

Why Owner chose São Martinho do Porto
We fell in love with the Siver Coast and found Sao Martinho to offer everything we needed. A safe bay, friendly people, and so much to see and do within the surrounding area. We wanted something modern and spacious which we could enjoy with all our family and friends.
What makes this Villa unique
The house is ideally located in a quiet residential area. We wanted to be able to walk to the beach, shops and restaurants within a couple of minutes without having to rely on the car. Being split over 3 floors and having 2 lounge areas allows everyone to have their own space, which is important when you are holidaying as groups. Our property manager who lives locally, is always available to help and advise our guests and has a wealth of information about the area.

Comfortable and well equipped and so near town
We had a lovely week at the Villa. Very spacious and comfortable for 3 mature women . So very near the beach and town. The lifts were shut at 9pm and we found the hill back up to the villa was fine for us. Nicola was a great help meeting us on arrival and coming back the following day when we had a problem with the Wi-fi. Us ladies love Sao and we certainly hope to be back.
Spacious well equipped and perfect location
This was our second stay in this property, it is perfect for our 2 families of 4 adults and 4 children. Plenty of space and we never feel on top of each other. There is everything you need in the house, right down to a cool box and ice blocks for the beach! Lots of fresh linen provided.
The house is a short walk from the seafront and a convenience shop 2 minutes away so perfectly located. Plenty of restaurants to choose from nearby or we had a bbq a few times. If you want to cook in the house there is everything you need. The pool is great to use, we certainly used it well! Amaxing views from the balconies too. We most likely will stay again we love this property so much.
Perfect villa, perfect location
We cannot recommend this property enough, we were two families of four and we had plenty of room, never feeling on top of each other. The villa lacks nothing, everything you could possibly need is included. We used the BBQ a few times and also ate our in the nearby eateries, only 10 minutes away.
The villa was very clean and tidy when we arrived, plenty of towels available and tea towels etc.
We used the sofa bed and it was extremely comfy, with plenty of pillows.
The pool was great for the 4 children and we were lucky to have it to ourselves most days which was a nice surprise in August. The beach is only a 10 minute stroll away too so the villa benefits from both options, there are even buckets and spades etc to borrow.
There is a bakery 5 mins walk away which is very busy with locals having their daily coffee and buying fresh bread, and a handy mini-market too for supplies, although the main supermarket in SMP is only 15 mins walk (pop in at the fire-station for a quick drink on the way!
This villa is fab, can't say a bad word about it!

Lovely place to spend a family holiday. The house is spacious and well equipped with the town within easy walking distance and beach with great restaurants and cafes nearby. Tony and Alison were very friendly and helpful providing useful information on everything we needed to know about the house and locality. We would highly recommend this property.
Spacious Property in Great Location
Great spacious property, 2 families could easily stay here without getting on top of each other. We went with our Son, Daughter and Grandson, and there was plenty of space. Well equipped kitchen, TV, DVDs, BBQ. Excellent location, easy walking distance to lovely sandy beach (Atlantic Ocean - so Sea cold!!) and great restaurants and bars. Alison and Tony (Owners) always quick to come back with answers to any questions. The one and only downfall was the Pool doesn't open until 1st June, apart from that all was excellent, and definitely would recommend. We hope to go back at the end of the summer,
After following useful directions provided by the owners, we stayed in this very clean, comfortable house for 6 nights in January. The weather was 'bracing' so we were very grateful for the full central heating. The location is great - a few minutes' walk to the market, a minute to the old part of town and the lift which takes you to the lovely bay and a large number of cafes and restaurants. The house is designed in such a way that it could accommodate a large family with a downstairs 'flat' for teenagers or grandparents - lots of space for everyone. Great place for winter beach walks.
The safe sheltered beach of Sao Martinho, is only a few minutes stroll away. Salir Do Porto 5 minutes drive the other side of the bay, with seasonal public pool. Foz do Arelho and Obidos lagoon are only ten minutes drive south. Nazare beach with its water sports and nightlife is only 20 minutes drive north.
Lisbon Airport 1 hours drive up the A8 motorway. Easy jet direct from Luton, Liverpool, Gatwick, Bristol and Edinburgh. Ryan Air from Stanstead. TAP from London and Manchester, British Airways from London airports. Aer Lingus from Dublin and Cork. Oporto Airport just over 2 hours drive by motorway. Faro approximately 3.5 hours drive. Car hire recommended to explore the area, although there are both train and direct bus links to Sao Martinho. Taxi services can be arranged if required.
Obidos, a beautiful medieval walled town is 20 minutes by car.
Foz do Arelho and Obidos lagoon is 10 minutes by car.
Nazare town, beach, watersports, Aqua Park, new medium sized supermarket 20 minutes by car. Caldas da Rainha, main town for shopping, 20 minutes by car. Lisbon, the lively capital of Portugal, events, shopping etc. 1 hour by car. Peniche, largest fishing port in the area, great surfing plus Aqua park 30 mins by car. Alcobaca Abbey with tombs of King Pedro 1, 30 minutes by car.
Sao Martinho has numerous shops, restaurants cafes (some with internet) and bars. Internet also available at Tourist Information Centre. Also a daily market, supermarkets, banks and medical centre. Very welcoming Catholic church 5 minutes walk. Fishing locally from beaches rock marks and boats. Renowned surfing beaches along the coast, surf school at Peniche. Sailing and Windsurfing at Obidos lagoon. Discos in both Sao Martinho and Foz 10 minutes drive away.
