This tranquil medieval hamlet between Agen and Condom is 90 minutes from Toulouse and Bordeaux. Protected by a stunning 12th-century tower, the Farm at Estrepouy can be rented with/without the Grange annex. The property is at the end of the peaceful hamlet of Estrepouy.
The Farm House, more than 300 sq metres, has 4 double bedrooms with en-suite. (The Grange annexe is 120 sq metres with 2 bedrooms, 1 shower room and a downstairs loo.) Designed by a leading local architect and furnished to high standard with a beautiful collection of antique and modern furniture, this stylish property mixes wonderful old stone with modern glass and steel. Huge living room, large terrace with awning overlooking beautiful formal garden and stunning views, 12m double infinity pool, TV & wireless TV & wireless broadband. Can be taken alone or with the Grange annexe for those requiring extra beds.
The area is full delightful villages and towns close by with good shops and restaurants and markets.
Gastronomy is one of the main delights of the Gers – Armagnac is to be found in almost every village, while the great centres of Condom and Eauze are only 10-20 minutes away. Confit and foie gras are major specialities, as are prunes from Agen, figs and walnuts. There are also excellent local wines to be tasted as well as the local aperitif, Floc. Equally, there are many good restaurants, details of which are to be found in the house book.
There are many interesting historical sites within easy reach of the house: the moated chateau of Fources which boasts a fine restaurant, the medieval Abbaye de Flaran, the Chateau de Cassaigne, the Roman villa at Seviac, the Cathedral at Condom. Agen and Auch are also worth visiting, and Toulouse and Bordeaux can easily be reached. Condom and La Romieu, both 10 km from the house, are on the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostella.
