Why Andrew &Annabel Baker chose Bardonecchia

We love skiing in Italy, it's so much friendlier than France or Switzerland. The coffee is great, the queues are short and the pizza is fantastic. Our apartment is in the heart of Bardonecchia but only a short hop to the slopes. The town has a train station on the main line from Paris to Turin so access from the UK is very easy via train or aeroplane.

Notes on accommodation: Apartment (and resort) is very family friendly. Located on first floor of small block of 10 apartments with lift available. The Apartment is fully central heated. Outside: Three balconies to enjoy the mountain views. Utility Room: High Chair, Booster Seat, Travel Cot and Iron/Ironing Board all available in apartment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: There is an additional charge for cleaning and laundry dependent on party size and duration of stay. This will be advised at time of booking. Cleaning is typically weekly. Other: Basement Room available for storage of skis, bikes, buggies etc. Underground parking space available.

Substantial size apartment

FRom the time we booked the apartment the owner kept in touch with tips about the area and emailed directions and all other relevant helpful information which helped and made our stay more enjoyable. We were 2 families of 3 staying in the apartment. The apartment was perfect, plenty of room, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom situated together at opposite ends. Separate good sized kitchen with balcony. Easy to find in the town of Bardonecchia, superb location, 2 minute walk to the supermarket, 5 minute drive to campo smith for collecting your hire skis and joining the ski slopes. 20 minute drive to Sauze d oulx.

Spacious Apartment in Central location

A very nice surprise we had when we opened the door on our first afternoon in Bardonecchia. A well appointed and much more roomy apartment than we anticipated (much bigger than website says). Situated on a quiet street just off the main street with a ski bus stop just a few yards away. Three double bedrooms and one single bedroom, loads of storage, on the first floor with a lift. Could not have asked for more, neutral decor, a decent supply of hot water (8 of us in our party), lots of light and a decent sized living/dining room. First class accommodation in a quiet, yet central spot in this quaint Italian town.

Fantastic apartment in the centre of Bradonecchia

We stayed in Bardonecchia for 4 days leading up to the 2017 Etape du Tour bike race being held in Briancon (about 45 mins drive through Montgenevre gap).

The apartment was absolutely ideal for us, large spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen and just very homely and comfortable. It is about 5mins from main railway station so public transport access from Turin (or France via tunnel) is really easy with a train every hour. Road access also very easy. Lots of fresh food shops, bars and restaurants just a stones throw away. Lots going on in town over the summer with several ski lifts open to give access up the mountains.

Overall we had a fantastic stay, I would wholly recommend Bardonecchia for a summer base in the Alps.;

Fabulous base for skiing

We stayed at Casa Bardonecchia this March. The apartment has a great communal living space, a bathroom and 2 bedrooms at one end of the apartment and a bathroom and 2 bedrooms at the other; perfect for our two families.

Located very centrally, the apartment was close to shops, the supermarket and great restaurants, so eating in or out was never a problem.

Our children were all first time skiers but with friendly staff and great facilities, it was easy to get them organised and the instructors were fantastic.

A lovely apartment and a great resort - highly recommended.

perfect appartment for 2 families

Been here 3 times, says enough: ;-)

Enough room and space for the indicated number of people, unlimited amount of hot water for the showers, and a good equipped kitchen. All as you should expect , but often don't get when renting an appartment! Centrally located in the village, good supermarket at 100 m, and the skislopes are at 5 min. with the Skibus.

For lunch at the slopes i recommend "Birichini" (above Arnauds)

I can really recommend this appartment and ski-area.

-Bardonecchia is just one hour from Turin airport by road and one of the few resorts with a mainline train station (less than 5 hours by TGV, direct from Paris).

-Cheap flights to Turin available with British Airways, Easyjet and Ryanair

-Transfers from Turin either by hire car or local train service from the centre of town

-It's possible to drive to Bardonecchia from Calais in just 10 hours


-80km from Turin. Perfect for short family friendly transfers and day trips (by car or train) to this fantastic Italian city.

-Resorts of Sauze D'Oux, Sestriere and Claviere all within 20-25 minute drive.

Further Details:

Bardonecchia has numerous shops, boutiques and weekly markets on the traditional, pedestrianised shopping area ‘Via Medail’; one of the longest shopping streets in the alps.

It has a good range of bars, cafes and pizzerias scattered throughout the town, including a host of mountain restaurants, full of life and atmosphere. The mainline railway station is a 5-10 minute walk from the apartment and has frequent trains to surrounding villages and Turin allowing easy transfers and daytrips. There is a helpful, english speaking Tourist Office, able to provide information and book a huge range of activities.

The resort is equally popular in the summer months with numerous activities available locally, including golf, tennis, walking, rafting, mountain biking water sports etc
