Golf lovers - Son Termens golf course is approx a 15 minute drive away this is ranked amongst the most ecological in Europe, the village is also within half and hours drive of 5 other courses. Canyoning is also available and is a relatively new sport that involves walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling and/or swimming through a canyon. Due to the limestone rocks found in the Tramuntana mountain range, Mallorca boasts many canyons that have been carved out over millions of years by water. These narrow gorges, with beautifully sculpted walls and waterfalls provide a striking setting for this all-action activity. Guided kayak excursion, starting and finishing from the Playa d'en Tepic beach in Puerto Soller. Rock climbing around the mountain range.

History: In 1838 Frederic Chopin and George Sand visited the island and stayed at the Royal Monastery in Valldemossa, both left a mark on Mallorca and Valldemossa that is set in the foothills of the Tramuntana Mountain range.

The island beautiful scenery captivated both of them Chopin said, '... I shall live in a wonderful cloister in the most beautiful part of the world...', and his companion thought, 'Anything that can be dreamt by the painter or the poet has been created by nature in this place. Today the grounds of the Royal Monastery of Valldemossa are open for visits to the many different chambers it contains. In August the village holds the Chopin festival which dates back to 1930 this takes place in the Monastery's cloister. The Royal Monastery of Valldemossa has its origins in the early fourteenth-century palace constructed by King James II for its son Sancho, which was donated to the Order of San Bruno in 1399. A camera is essential in Valldemossa.

Beaches / Coves: The beach of Valldemossa is approx 6km away from the villa, the drive down to the beach is breathtaking. There is a restaurant by the beach known for its excellent fish dishes, great swimming and snorkelling Or you could drive a little further to the beach/cove of Deia recently voted one of the most idyllic places to live. Port of Soller is also a lovely place to visit with its large sandy beach with boat trips and pedal rides. Soller also has the old steam train that takes you through the mountain range to Palma running daily, this is approx a 25 minute drive from the villa. The centre of Valldemossa is a 2 minute walk away where you will find everything that you need to help make your stay comfortable, there is a local supermarket, corner bakeries, pharmacy, banks, shops, bars, restaurants the Valldemossa hotel where you can visit to dine.

Beautiful property with a great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful family holiday at the Villa Majestic. Our two grown up children came along with their partners and it was difficult to drag them away from the very inviting terraced pool. We had a slight issue with a broken bed but the owners went out of their way to address the problem. Overall, I would highly recommend the Villa Majestic - it was truly a home away from home.

Beautiful villa in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful week in Majorca. Five adults and two children under four. The property had everything we needed including a cot and high chair. The pool (close supervision needed as it is deep) was a hit as was the small scrub/garden for hunting for pine cones.

The villa's location, a ten minute saunter from Valdemosa, allowed family walks for ice cream and a run around the Valdemosa playground.

30 minute drive from Soller Port for the beach, park and tram.

If you want to be in the holiday bustle stay on the coast. For a quieter, but well situated spot stay here. We would definitely stay here again.

A large well equipped villa with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

we were a family group of 10 with ages ranging from 1 year to 70. We had a fabulous time as the villa is spacious and well equipped. We all enjoyed the pool which was lovely and warm and we found lots of inflatables in the garage which kept the children and the adults entertained. The villa is situated above the beautiful village of Valdemossa and not only are the views stunning but it benefits from a bit of a breeze which was very welcome. There was lots of food bits and pieces left by other visitors which made for a basic larder. There is quite a good supermarket in the village which is in walking distance although a bit of a steep path in places. All in our party had a lovely time and I would recommend this villa.

Een onvergetelijke vakantie in is prachtig huis!

  • 5 of 5

Impressive Villa with fabulous view

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 6 ladies enjoying a short break in the spring sunshine. Lovely spacious villa located on the edge of the town of Valldemossa. We were greeted late evening by the very helpful Magdalena who took time to explain the Villa and town for us. The Villa has everything you will need, was clean and looked after, even out of season. It has obviously been a family home and as such the decor reflects their personal tastes. There are plenty of beds, seating, crockery, linen, sunbeds etc for a larger sized party. As a previous reviewer said it is located close to the road which is very busy but you soon tune out to the road noise even whilst sitting on the terrace or sunbathing. The property really does have the most magnificent views over Valdemossa and the mountains which more than compensates for this. The town itself has plenty restaurants and cafe's to try but if a late night is what you require you will have to venture further afield. An enjoyable stay. We would return.

Fantastic large villa with spectacular views

  • 4 of 5

Good size rooms with plenty family space inside and out. Clean and well maintained. Magdalena and Monica were extremely helpful and friendly and addressed any requests quickly. Easy walking distance to pretty town of Valledemossa via public footpath which has many cultural and historic interests. Would have scored 5 stars however the villa is close to the road which is noisy in the morning if you have shutters open. There was also a day when workman were digging out grounds next to property (noisy) and appeared at poolside to connect electricity and water for working which we were not informed of. The property is secured by large remote entrance gate which provides a secure playing area for children. There is a great play area in the basement. We have stayed in villas in Mallorca on four occasions and this villa was great value for money. Plenty places to eat in town or travel to Deia and Soller for more choice. Take the tram from Soller to Port Soller for a beach day 5 euros per person each trip. A day trip to Pollenca old town or Puerto Pollenca is worth the time.

Owner's Response: We are sorry that the guests were disturbed with workmen in the grounds next to the villa. We have since made inquiries and it was the local council clearing away some of the wooded area in the land next to ours. The council has a duty to inform all owners when these works take place, also if they have to use our electricity as the land next to the villa has no supply. We can only apologise for what happened but unfortunately it was out of our control.

The Village of Valldemossa is one of the most sought after areas in Mallorca. Lots of history within this small village, only 10 minutes drive to the Port of Valldemossa, walking, cycling and sightseeing or just relaxing in this beautiful village. Only 17km to Palma centre. Valldemossa is in a elevated location, looking down into the valley and surrounded by the Tramontana mountain range, filled with olive, almond trees and leafy vegetation. The narrow, lofty streets of Valldemossa offer a special enchantment. The native house of Saint Catherine is conserved in the town. The ancient monastery, Cartuja, originally a royal residence, was inhabited by the Carthusian monks from 1399 until their expulsion in 1835 due to the secularisation of church property. During the winter of 1838-1839 Frederick Chopin and George Sand lived in this monastery, their stay is still well remembered today. Chopin once said 'this is the most beautiful place in the world!'

Golf: Golf lovers - Son Termens golf course is approx a 15 minute drive away this is ranked amongst the most ecological in Europe, the village is also within half an hours drive of 5 other courses.
