About Chrissy Whyte
Chrissy & Michael We live in Rottingdean a pretty village on the outskirts of Brighton where we run a property maintenance company so you can be assured that the villa is maintained to our very high standards. We have many varied interests, Michael is a marathon runner and plays guitar and Chrissy has a keen interest in interior design and gardening. We fell in love with Villa Sovalye at first sight for it's fabulous views of Kalkan bay and the Taurus mountains as well as the great location close to the village and all amenities. We take great pride in making our villa a very special place not only for ourselves to enjoy but for other discerning guests who wish to experience all this beautiful villa has to offer.
Chrissy Whyte purchased this Villa in 2005
Why Chrissy Whyte chose Kalkan
We first visited kalkan in 2004 and fell in love with it. Having visited many places we knew that this was the perfect place for our holiday home. We viewed many properties but nothing ticked all the boxes until we saw Villa Sovalye! The location is perfect, peaceful but close to the village and all amenities and only 5 mins from shops, bars and restaurants. It is a front line villa on a small complex so has uninterrupted views of the sea and mountains from all levels. The beautiful gardens and private pool as well as the stunning roof terrace were just some of the many reasons we knew we had found our perfect place in paradise!
What makes this Villa unique
Location, close to the village and all amenities but with no steep hills. No need for a car. Private pool, beautiful gardens, sea and mountain views, a stunning roof terrace with BBQ and traditional Turkish Ottoman for chilling out! Spacious interior tastefully furnished with hand made furniture and local arts and crafts. Kalkan is a beautiful resort with traditional Ottoman white washed houses, cobbled streets winding down to the beautiful beach and harbour all surrounded by the Taurus Mountains and the clear blue Mediterranean sea. The warm welcome from the friendly locals, amazing cuisine served in the 100+ rooftop restaurants and it's wonderful ambiance will enchant you. We guarantee that once you have been bitten by the Kalkan bug you will return again and again!

Great spacious villa, with uninterrupted view of Kalkan Bay.
We had a wonderful family holiday at this villa. Setting is in a quiet residential area, with great views, but within walking distance to to Kalkan Harbour and many restaurants.
The villa was clean, with good water pressure from the showers and comfy beds.
The pool area was pretty, with a deep pool for proper swimming. Plenty of comfy sun loungers and table/chairs for meals.
All air conditioning units worked well in the heat.
Locally, the Kalamar Beach Club was our favourite place for swimming in the sea and chilling out. Crystal clear water, with an abundance of sea life. Food at the club for lunch was good and well priced. As was the drinks service.
Great holiday in a lovely area. Looking forward to returning.
Beautiful Villa in Great Location
Villa Sovalye is a beautiful villa in a great location. Fabulous views from the large roof terrace and the Ottoman is a lovely place to sit and relax . We also enjoyed BBQs on the roof terrace and by the pool. The kitchen is very well equipped and everywhere is spotless. The gardens are stunning and the pool area is great. A leisurely walk to the village is about 10 mins and the same for the market. Cannot fault this gorgeous villa and would definitely recommend it. Kalkan is amazing we will definitely be back!
Great villa, perfect location
We stayed in Villa Sovalye for just under 2 weeks in September on our first trip to Kalkan and we really couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. It was just the two of us staying there so we had loads of room, using one of the bedrooms as a dressing room and the other to sleep and didn’t go in the other one. Having a private pool was a must have for us which is why we had so much room but the price was very reasonable.
We had a late flight on a Monday and didn’t get to the villa until after 11pm so Chrissy arranged transfers for us and the driver gave us the keys. There was a welcome pack for breakfast and a very much needed bottle of wine in the fridge.
The pool was fantastic and we actually had sun on some of the sunbeds until 5pm by which time we were thinking about getting ready to go out for the evening anyway. And then the roof terrace with ottoman was a great place to go for ‘sundowner’ drinks before heading out for dinner.
We had planned to eat in more than we did but the restaurants were so good and reasonably priced it seemed a bit of a no-brainier to go out. Our favourite was Salonika but for a more cheap and cheerful place Chillies, just before you get into town, served amazing food and the chap who greeted us every night was just charming whether we stopped for food or went somewhere else. The Adana kebab at both was superb. Special mention also to Belgin’s Kitchen where we had a great meal in a really lovely setting.
We learnt to dive and got our Open Water certification at the Kalkan Dive Centre at Kalamar Beach Club. It’s about a 20 minute walk to get there but a stiff climb back up so get a cab back or drive. They were brilliant and since doing some research since returning they are about half the price of many other dive centres around the world.
Other places of note to visit...Saklikent gorge, make sure you walk some of it but you need a guide to get to the farther reaches. Get there early! The ruins at Tlos are also well worth a visit after going to Saklikent. Chrissy arrange car hire for us which was useful for our trips but don’t forget to carry ID with you as there were regular police checks on the roads but they were very friendly and we were waved through.
We had a great time in Kalkan. The villa was perfect and even had lots of friendly cats visiting us. If we go back to Kalkan we wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We try hard to make sure the villa lives up to expectations and we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay so much. As this was your first visit to Kalkan it is also good to hear that you found the locals so friendly and that there were so many things to see and do in and around Kalkan. The diving schools are exceptional and as you say cheaper than anywhere else and the choice of restaurants and quality of food is second to none.
Expectations Exceeded (and they were high)
Second time in Kalkan and wow what a fantastic Villa.
There were 4 of us staying, 3 adults and a 15 year old, but the Villa can easily handle 6 adults without feeling remotely cramped.
It exceeded our expectations. We deliberately chose a villa that had character rather than the uber modern glass and chrome type and it didn't disappoint. It felt like home, extremely spacious, very well equipped, comfortable mattresses on the bed and quality comfortable sun beds (not cheap plastic!) with substantial cushioning and removable terry towelling covers. Everything was so well thought out, and spotlessly clean.
Absolutely loved the rooftop Ottoman seating area and the beautiful bougainvillea. Views from here are stunning with unobstructed views out over the bay which we never tired of.
Location was perfect, peaceful yet close enough to the town centre, if you know Kalkan it's a 10 minute walk to the taxi rank and 15 minutes to the harbour, the Migros supermarket is a 5 minute walk.
The water cooler and daily bread were a more than welcome touch.
And who would object, after a long journey, to the chilled bottle of white wine waiting in the fridge as part of the welcome pack.
The pool area is cleaned daily by the pool ninja (so quiet you never here him) and kept spotless.
Air conditioning throughout, however we found that the curtains did such a great job of deflecting the heat in the day time, we really only used a/c at night in the bedrooms. The last place we stayed at in Kalkan only had flimsy curtains resulting in us using the a/c nearly all the time.
Airport transfers were a breeze in spotless air conditioned vehicles.
We really were delighted with our choice of Villa, we stayed 11 days and I wish it had been 111, I very much hope to return in the future.
My oh my what a wonderful review! Thank you so much and it is good to know that all our efforts to make our villa somewhere special to stay are worthwhile. We are pleased you appreciated that our team in Kalkan kept the villa spotless and the unobtrusive service they provided made your holiday comfortable and stress free. Needless to say, you were the perfect guests and are welcome back anytime.
eally lovely stay at Villa Sovalye - the villa is lovely, the gardens are BEAUTIFUL, fresh bread delivered everyday, helpful (but not intrusive) contacts in Kalkan, great location, nice walk to the wonderful Kalkan. Everything was in great condition, everything we needed was there (water cooler and aircon was fab!). We had a wonderful stay there - thanks Chrissy!
It's good to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the villa and everything was to your satisfaction. We hope you will visit again soon!
Gorgeous 3 Bedroom Villa with Spectacular Views
Everything about Villa Sovalye was perfect. Adourned with beautiful bouganvillea and pretty plant pots we fell in love from the moment we arrived. The Villa is spacious and very homely and well equipped throughout. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sun beds. The sun is on the pool until about 4pm. We would go up to the top terrace with lovely views late afternoon where the sun stayed till about 6pm. Sharon and Rambo looked after us during our stay replenishing water and delivering fresh bread every day. There is a supermarket 5 mins walk away and the town is about a 10 min walk.
Kalkan has excellent restaurants many with rooftop terraces allowing night time views of the harbour and hillside Villas lit up in their splendour. Our favourites were Kalamaki, Doy Doy, Gourmet and Korsan Fish Terrace.
Take a boat trip from the harbour. They leave about 10am and return about 6pm. Lunch and afternoon tea are provided. The day is so relaxing and the owners really take good care of you. You can also opt for a sunset cruise which offers night swimming, a BBQ and music under the stars.
This was our third visit to Kalkan and our first stay at Villa Sovalye. Chrissy provided a perfect stay and I will definitely recommend her property to family and friends.
Thank you Chrissy
