About Italian Apartments
What makes this Apartment unique
Set in the heart of Arsenale. The Venetian Arsenal (in Italian, Arsenale di Venezia) was the heart of the Venetian naval industry from the thirteenth century. It is related to the most flourishing period of the life of the Serenissima: thanks to the massive ships built there. Home too for the famous Bienalle, where thousands of guests travel to see, art, listen to music and enjoy the theatre and cinema.

Great Location and Old World Charm
This apartment was in a great location, close to everything with lots of small restaurants and shops close by. Over all the apartment was comfortable, but the attic was a challenge for adults to sleep in. We never used the outside deck as we had to carry up all the furniture two flights of wooden stairs. We had a few poor showers, water pressure issues, but everything else was fine. July was hot and it was worth the extra euros to have the air conditioning. The charm of the location and its access to everything, sights, water taxis, restaurants and bars made this a fun place to spend our holiday.
Thank you for your review. We shall ask our plumber to investigate the water pressure. At this time of year it may be a local issue.
The word 'challenge' is absolutely right in connection with Venice. The many bridges, narrow streets, crowds and absence of lifts all characterise its unique, antique and magnificent disposition.
Take our sun terrace furniture, for example. Due to sudden storms that blow up on safety grounds we cannot leave it out all of the time. But if you can be bothered to carry lightweight chairs six steps to the top you will enjoy the most breathtaking views of the city.
Those who have got to be only comfortable should try one of the swagger hotels on the Giudecca; although life there is so smooth it is easy to forget you are even in Venice!
Thank you for all of the nice things that you have said.
Good wishes to you.
Amazing Venetian Experience
We had a wonderful week in this lovely flat. It is definitely for Venice lovers with pictures by Venetian artists throughout and a small library of books about Venice. The best bit is making your way through the quirky upstairs bedroom that leads to a roof terrace with fantastic views all over Venice. We'll definitely come again. 5/5.
First time in Venice.
This was our first time in Venice and the location couldn't have been better, a pleasant walk to the city centre. We were very lucky with the weather, bonus. The apartment was very clean and well equipped and the most comfortable bed. just below the apartment are 2 really nice restaurants and a supermarket across the the road. We loved it there.
Lovely time in Venice
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The home was ideally located to reach all the amenities locally. Castello is very charming with a nice locals feel to the place with nice restaurants, bars, local shops, daily market and the artists garden, so we never felt like a tourist here yet it only took 10 minutes walk and we found ourselves bang in the centre of St Marks sq. The home features a nice view of the Venitian skyline and the living room has been tastefully appointed. Overall excellent value and we would not hesitate recommending this home to friends and family.
Just back from a wonderful stay in Venice. We thoroughly
enjoyed our stay here. The home is within easy reach of restaurants, bars and the fish, meat and greengrocer daily market. The home is authentically furnished in venetian style, lots of steps but as the top floor apartment there is was noisy neighbours above you which we have sometimes encountered with other rentals. Arsenale has some superb restaurants, bars and bakery and has a very local feel, not at all touristy but its only a short walk to the ferry and St Marks square to see the sights. We used the verenda once or twice and loved looking at the view of venice and the roof tops so would like to come back in the summer to take full advantage when warmer, especially as the home as air conditioning. Italian apartments were easy to deal with answering emails and our phone calls promptly and efficiently. I would certainly book with them in the future.
Really enjoyed our stay here in Arsenale. The home has been tastefully appointed and it was a pleasure to return each evening after pounding the Venetian streets for an aperitif on the roof terrace and take in the views. The home was ideally located close to restaurants, bars and the daily market. The location was just perfect as only a short ferry ride to reach all the attractions and a real bonus to return to the authentic village amongst the locals of an evening. The artists garden close by was convenient to escape the hot venetian summer so thank you Barrie for your recommendations. We would definitely return and will recommend you to friends and family.
3 minutes from the water stop for the lido beaches.
1 hour from Marco Polo airport by waterbus.
10 minutes from the famous St Marks Square and situated near to the waterstop with access to all parts of the lagoon.

Casa Castello, Venice
The X-factor with this apartment is its small roof terrace, which has fantastic views across the rooftops to St mark's Square, only ten minutes' walk away. The whole apartment, which is part of a building dating back to 1450, has a wonderfully historical feel with a beamed living/dining room and a galleried staircase to the upstairs twin bedroom. Located in the unspoilt district of Castello, the apartment has an excellent choice of shops and restaurants near by.
